Chapter 901: Chapter 899: Currying Favor

“Hubby, are you busy?” Gu Huanhuan asked tentatively.

Wen Chi had noticed that Gu Huanhuan would call him Hubby whenever she had done sothing wrong.

Addressing him this way now, he guessed she knew she had caused so trouble.

“I just finished, what’s up?” Wen Chi pretended not to know about the entertainnt reports; he wanted to see Gu Huanhuan’s reaction.

“Oh, it’s nothing important, just… if you hear any rumors, just ignore them,” Gu Huanhuan said nonchalantly.

“What kind of rumors?” Wen Chi seed not inclined to let the matter go just yet.

“Well, don’t get angry when you hear it, okay?” Gu Huanhuan still cared very much about his feelings.

“Go ahead.” Wen Chi’s tone remained indifferent, leaving Gu Huanhuan uncertain whether he was happy or upset.

“I was photographed with senior Lu Yiming, and we got embroiled in gossip. Let clarify, we’re innocent. We were rehearsing our lines, and there were other people present, but they captured just the two of us,” Gu Huanhuan said anxiously.

Confession leads to leniency, resistance leads to strictness.

Gu Huanhuan hadn’t intended to conceal it from him; with the news causing such a stir, he was bound to find out.

“Oh.” Wen Chi replied with a single word, but Gu Huanhuan knew he was sowhat angry. Anyone would probably be upset in such a situation, and she understood.

“Are you angry?” Gu Huanhuan probed.

“Let’s talk when you get ho.” After saying that, Wen Chi abruptly hung up the phone.

Gu Huanhuan was left listening to the “beep beep beep” on the line.

It seed he really was angry. Pouting her lips, Gu Huanhuan decided she would cajole him when she got back tonight.

Because of this incident, Gu Huanhuan couldn’t wait to get ho.

When she arrived, Wen Chi hadn’t yet returned. The nanny was holding Xiaobao, playing in the living room.

Xiaobao’s eyes crinkled into lines as she smiled upon seeing her. She could already recognize people.

However, she was a little thankless wretch; when her daddy wasn’t ho, she would cling to her, but if Wen Chi was around, she only wanted to be held by daddy.

Wen Chi didn’t get back until around 7 o’clock in the evening. A patient had co in suddenly just as he was about to leave work, so he had been delayed a bit.

When Gu Huanhuan saw him co ho, she quickly went up to greet him, helped him with his briefcase, and brought his slippers.

Wen Chi gave her a cursory glance and then went over to Xiaobao’s little bed.

As if sensing her daddy’s return, Xiaobao laughed non-stop with “giggles.”

Wen Chi smiled back at her, but he didn’t hold her right away because he had just co from the hospital and didn’t want to expose her to bacteria before he changed his clothes and washed his hands.

“Hubby, are you hungry? I’ll go warm up the food for you,” Gu Huanhuan said ingratiatingly.

Wen Chi nodded, and Gu Huanhuan headed into the kitchen.

When Wen Chi ca out of changing, he paused as he saw the figure in the kitchen. Gu Huanhuan had her hair in a simple, neat ponytail, wore pink plain slippers, and was tied in a floral apron, holding a spatula carefully reheating the dishes.

It lted Wen Chi’s heart to witness this; in fact, he had deliberately given her the cold shoulder, hoping she’d learn a lesson and not fall for soone else’s sches again.

She was certainly trying to make ands, which showed she really cared for him.

As she was warming up the soup, she took a spoon, scooped a taste, and tried it herself.

“Is it ready?” Wen Chi asked, “I’m hungry.”

Gu Huanhuan jumped, her whole body shivering, and then she turned to see him and patted her chest, “You walk without making a sound.”

“You’re just too focused on what you’re doing,” Wen Chi said, looking at the soup in the pot with his heart stirring.

“Hmm, it’s all your favorite dishes,” Gu Huanhuan tenderly cooed.
