Chapter 1097: Chapter 1096: Need a Female Master
Fifteen minutes later, the car finally arrived at the hospital.
By then, Lu Xinxin was feverish to the point of not being able to tell north from south., and Lu Lei was beside himself with worry. He, who was usually unruffled, was now sowhat flustered.
After getting out of the car, he carried Lu Xinxin into the ergency room, with Shu Pan following behind.
The doctor quickly conducted a simple examination on Xinxin; it was a fever caused by a cold. Since the fever had not subsided after taking dication, the doctor prescribed an IV.
Once the IV was set up, Lu Lei’s heart finally settled. Shu Pan had been busily tending to Xinxin, feeding her water, wiping her down, and helping to physically bring her temperature down. Watching this, Lu Lei felt a warm glow in his heart.

“Okay, thank you,” Lu Lei said gratefully. “I had wanted to give you a ride back, but now you have to take a taxi by yourself.”

When Shu Pan returned ho, Gu Shaoting was already there, sitting alone in the living room, shoes unstopped, still in his suit, appearing lost in thought.
Seeing him brought joy to Shu Pan’s heart. “You’re back? I thought you had a eting?” she said.
Gu Shaoting then turned his head, looking at her. For a while, there was no expression on his face, just looking at her.
Feeling a bit uneasy under his gaze, Shu Pan put down her handbag and walked towards him, asking worriedly, “What happened? Why do you look so unhappy?”
Gu Shaoting finally snapped back to reality, giving her a faint smile, shaking his head and then, looking into her eyes, he asked, “Didn’t you say you were ho already on the phone? Why are you just getting back now?”
Shu Pan awkwardly averted her gaze and laughed, “I did co back earlier, but I went to the supermarket first. I wanted to buy so things, but then I realized there was nothing I needed, so I ca back.”
After watching her for a mont, Gu Shaoting finally got up, nodding with a smile and said, “Hmm, I’m quite tired today, I’ll go take a shower.” And with that, he took his bag and went into the bedroom.
Watching his figure disappear behind the door, Shu Pan couldn’t shake the feeling that there was sothing off about Gu Shaoting today.
Suddenly Shu Pan rembered, did he eat anything? She had forgotten to ask earlier.
In the kitchen, Shu Pan especially made a cup of black tea, then carried it towards the desk, pushing the door open to see Gu Shaoting sitting behind the desk, seriously reading so docunts.
“Knock, knock, knock.” Shu Pan tapped gently on the door.
Gu Shaoting looked up, his eyes seeming more distant than usual, with a sense of alienation, but the smile on his lips was still warm. He said to Shu Pan, “Co in.”
Shu Pan entered with a smile, handing over the cup of black tea, “Have you eaten? How about I make you a bowl of noodles?”
