The old priest finally handed the little cub over to Amu’s arms, then stood up and looked toward Gui Zhuangzhuang.
"Zhuangzhuang, did you feed the little cub sothing? The little guy is now all better. Except for being a bit thin and weak, there are truly no signs of poisoning at all."
Upon hearing this, Gui Zhuangzhuang first felt great joy, then furrowed his brows, "We only fed Beibei so minced at because the cub was unconscious, and we couldn’t get anything else but water and minced at into him."
After speaking, he turned to look at his mate, "Did you feed Beibei anything else?"
The female shook her head, "No, the cub couldn’t eat any other food either."
At this point, the cave fell into complete silence.
The old priest and the surrounding Beastn all frowned, filled with confusion.
They had no doubts about Gui Zhuangzhuang and his mate’s words, because Gui Zhuangzhuang was the Clan Leader of the Tortoise Tribe. If he had the ans to cure this poison, he would not watch the young cubs of the tribe die of poisoning.
The old priest turned his head to Gui Zhuangzhuang, "Maybe you fed the little cub so food, but you didn’t realize it yourself. Let go in and take a look, perhaps I can discover sothing."
Gui Zhuangzhuang’s eyes lit up at this, he handed Gui Baobao over to his mate and went inside with the old priest.
Gui Zhuangzhuang’s cave was not very large but was divided into three sections.
The front part was where they kept so food, the middle was where he and his mate rested.
The innermost part of the cave was laid with a very beautiful fiery red Beast Skin mat, the very one that Ji Nuan had given to Gui Baobao, and was the place where the two cubs slept.
The old priest first inspected the food in Gui Zhuangzhuang’s ho but didn’t find anything unusual about it.
He then followed Gui Zhuangzhuang to the resting area and began a careful examination.
anwhile, in the arms of Gui Zhuangzhuang’s mate, Gui Baobao and Gui Beibei were sowhat anxiously wriggling their little bodies.
Gui Baobao could not help but worry; after feeding his younger brother the potion, he thought the little porcelain bottle was good-looking and had placed it on the edge of the Beast Skin mat, intending to keep it as a collectible.
Now, as long as Granpa Priest and Father stepped into the cave, they would see that beautiful little porcelain bottle at a glance, and the little secret between him and his brother would be exposed.
Although Ji Nuan was also aware of the cubs’ restlessness, she thought the two little ones just wanted to go and play, so she didn’t take it to heart.
However, Gui Zhuangzhuang and the old priest indeed ca to the inner part of the cave where the fiery red Beast Skin was placed.
Looking at the beautiful Beast Skin, the priest’s eyes brightened, and he turned to Gui Zhuangzhuang behind him, "Zhuangzhuang ah, where did you find such a fine piece? When you’ve got the ti, get an old man like one as well."
Gui Zhuangzhuang gave a wry smile, "Old priest, this isn’t sothing I could get myself. This is what my Gui Baobao exchanged for when he sneakily went out to play and encountered a few Beastn from the Land Tribe, swapping it for a pearl shell."
The old priest looked at him skeptically, "You’ve also learned to lie now, have you? Those pearl shells can be found everywhere, even on the beaches.
The Land Beastn aren’t crazy, why would they exchange such top-quality Beast Skin for a pearl shell?"
Gui Zhuangzhuang smiled bitterly, "Baobao says he’s good friends with them."
