"Shaman, is it really these tiny insects that are eating away at the Salt Fruit Trees?" The orcs looked gravely at the several porcelain jars containing white granules inside the tent.
Just as Ji Nuan had feared, not long after these little insects were placed into the jars, they died. However, what they left behind wasn’t their carcasses but jars filled with snow-white salt.
It looked exactly like the salt collected from the Salt Fruit Trees, but tasted even saltier.
Ji Nuan’s voice was heavy, "Seeing the death of the Salt Fruit Trees, it really seems to be related to these tiny insects."
Setting down the porcelain jar in her hand, Ji Nuan looked towards the night sky outside the tent, "I wonder if we can still find any living Salt Fruit Trees."
The faces of the gathered beasts mirrored each other, filled with concern.
The next morning, the orcs got up, prepared their food, and after having breakfast, they went towards the other Salt Fruit Tree forests.
But to their disappointnt, wherever there were Salt Fruit Trees, whether it was a patch or a single one, all had been sucked dry and killed by these sa small insects.
For an entire month, Ji Nuan led the orcs through the Eneru Mountain Forest, but they couldn’t find a single healthy Salt Fruit Tree.
This made her realize that the thod of obtaining salt from the Salt Fruit Trees was no longer possible.
Thus, Ji Nuan had Captain Ying Yan go back to the Tribe once and bring Kaka along.
When Kaka arrived at Stone Field, located between the Eneru Forest and the Nia Forest, Ji Nuan and the others had already been camped there and resting for three days.
Upon seeing Kaka, Ji Nuan’s eyes brightened, and a smile finally appeared on her face.
Kaka, however, was sowhat dumbfounded. He had been busy working his own land when Captain Ying Yan ca to find him, abruptly had him pack up, and then flew for several days.
He felt like he was spinning from the flight.
"Shaman Ji Nuan," Kaka’s face was pale, for any beast being carried swiftly through the skies for several days would not find it pleasant.
Seeing his uncomfortable appearance, Ji Nuan chuckled and patted his arm, then turned to the figure behind them, Captain Ying Yan, "You two should go rest, we can talk about everything later, after you’ve had a good rest. There’s no hurry."
The two nodded, and Captain Ying Yan led Kaka to his tent. As soon as the two beasts entered the tent, they collapsed onto the Beast Skin mats and fell asleep.
They were extrely tired.
The other orcs around them silently bared their teeth, their movents becoming much gentler.
It wasn’t until dinner that the scent wafting in the air woke them.
After they had consud two large bowls of purple fruit at porridge, they exhaled deeply and slowed the pace at which they were eating.
Ji Nuan looked at Kaka, "Kaka, I’ve asked you to co this ti because we need you to take us to the sea."
Kaka swallowed the food in his mouth, with no confusion, and thumped his chest, "No problem, I rember the way."
Ji Nuan nodded, "Good. After eating, you two go and rest. You’ve been on the road for several days without a break, so get so good rest before we set off."
The two nodded in agreent. Indeed, they had not rested during these days of travel, which had worn them down terribly.
Inside the tent, Ji Nuan sighed as she looked at the white granules in the porcelain jar.
Xiu Yan soothed her by patting her head, "Don’t sigh anymore. This is all part of Lord Beast God’s plan, and haven’t you already found a new thod of making salt?"
