Suddenly, sothing strange caught her attention. It was a section of so insect’s body that appeared to have been accidentally wounded by her own little shovel, writhing in pain on the ground.
Ji Nuan felt sowhat guilty as she dug a small pit with the little shovel and then placed the small insect, which was no longer moving, into the hole and began to bury it, "I’m sorry, it wasn’t on purpose. I just didn’t see you before, or else I...hmm?"
She raised the shovel in her hand, and the spot where the insect’s body had just lain bore a clump of white substance, which caught Ji Nuan’s attention.
She reached out to touch it, and found that the white substance wasn’t liquid but rather sandy.
Ji Nuan dipped her little finger into it and brought it close to her nose to sll. There was no strange odor.
After thinking about it, she was about to taste the substance in her hand when a large hand stopped her, "You’re eating from a dead insect...?"
At that mont, Ji Nuan suddenly reminded Xiu Yan of the ti back in the Tribal Territory, when she had been eating fruit that only birds and animals would consu, given to her along with Humming Beast legs by the small woods.
Ji Nuan passed the white granules in her hand to Xiu Yan, "I want to try if these are perhaps salty."
"Salty?" The surrounding Orcs all heard this and quickly gathered around, looking at the small clump of white granules on Shaman Ji Nuan’s finger, their eyes revealing surprise.
Ya Li stepped forward beside her, and in the midst of Shaman Ji Nuan and the Orcs talking, he ate a bit of the salt remains on the shovel.
Xiu Yan, of course, saw it, but he acted as if he hadn’t and turned his head away, focusing his attention on Ji Nuan.
As Ya Li put the white granules in his mouth, a taste of saltiness mixed with bitterness swiftly overwheld his taste buds, "Ouch!"
He imdiately frowned and spat out the already dissolved white granules from his mouth with several "ptooey" sounds.
Hearing this, the other Orcs turned to look at Ya Li. Ji Nuan still had the white granules clinging to her fingers and looked puzzled at Ya Li’s contorted face, "What happened to you?"
Ya Li gave Ji Nuan a resentful glance, "This white stuff, it’s so salty it’s bitter. What is this?"
Only then did Ji Nuan realize he had eaten so on the sly and had even managed to taste the granules for her.
But thinking about the origin of these granules, Ji Nuan looked at Ya Li with so unspeakable feelings, "These ca from the body of that insect just now."

Ya Li’s complexion first turned pale, then iron blue, and finally black.
If this blackness wasn’t as intense as a Salt Fruit Tree, Ji Nuan might have thought he was poisoned.
She dug up the insect corpse that had been buried earlier but to her surprise, the place where the insect had been buried no longer contained the insect’s body, only a puddle of white granules mixed with soil.
Ji Nuan beckoned the Orcs to carefully collect these white granules into a porcelain jar. She planned to find more of these white insects to put into the jar to see if they could turn into these kinds of white granules.
The Orcs split into several groups and, would you believe it, in this patch of the now-dead Salt Fruit Forest, there indeed were many, many white insects, and all of them were gathered under the Salt Fruit Trees.
