Outside the tent, there’s a delicious sll of food that tempts Ji Nuan to swallow in anticipation, despite not feeling particularly hungry.
The orcs of the Watson Tribe were already rushing towards the nearest fire pit, sitting down to begin grilling their at.
Ji Nuan, Xiu Yan, and Ya Li followed behind Chief ng Zhuo to a large fire pit and were invited to sit down: "Please have a seat, Shaman Ji Nuan."
Near the fire pit were several beast skin cushions. As the cold season drew to an end, the temperatures in the early morning and evening were very low, hence sitting by the fire pit and roasting at had beco a much-enjoyed activity.
"Do try this ga," ng Zhuo handed a cleaned up prey to Xiu Yan, "This is a rare ga from the Lamu Forest, similar in size to the Long-eared Beast, but its at is very tender. Near the end of the cold season, we always catch so to bring back for pregnant females and little cubs."
Ji Nuan looked at it curiously. In terms of size, it indeed resembled the Long-eared Beast, but it didn’t have the large ears. Though it had been cleaned up already, it still looked fat and juicy, signifying that it’s very nutritious.
Xiu Yan efficiently skewered the ga on a stick. Soon, the fat started to sizzle in the fire, emitting a delicious aroma that made Ji Nuan involuntarily comnt, "It slls so good, I wonder how it tastes."
Xiu Yan smiled indulgently, "We still need more ti for it to cook, then you can eat."
Ji Nuan nodded like a chick pecking at rice, "Mhmm."
Elsewhere, by other fires, orcs and females began to dance around the fire, simple and casual movents of swinging arms and stamping feet, radiating joy and pleasure to those watching.
"Shaman Ji Nuan, how are Clan Leaders Shi Jie and Bear?" ng Zhuo asked.
Ji Nuan smiled, "They’re fine, everyone is peacefully preparing to get through the cold season."
"Thanks to the Watson’s Tribe holding down the Eneru Forest, the Nacha Tribe doesn’t dare to offend recklessly, and the Gru Tribe won’t cause any more trouble," Chief ng Zhuo stated reflectively.
Ji Nuan laughed, "The Gru Tribe is now living right in Eneru Forest. We allocated them a territory after discussions among our three tribes, letting them live their own lives."
ng Zhuo, however, disagreed sowhat, "Shaman Ji Nuan is just too kind. The conflict between the Gru and Watson Tribes is so deep, it would be easier to just wipe them out."
Ji Nuan shook his head, "Xiu Yan and I saved them while they were in the Land of Death. This must have been Lord Beast God’s guidance. Xiu Yan survived while Bertel and his Gru orcs all perished as a penalty for their actions. Let’s just leave it at that."
"Clan leaders Shi Jie and Bear agreed?" ng Zhuo sounded surprised. After all, during Bertel’s attack on the Eneru Forest, many lives were lost from both the Dashi Tribe and the Gray Bear Tribe.
Ji Nuan winked at him mysteriously, "In a while, or perhaps after the cold season, Chief ng Zhuo will understand."
