Xiu Yan’s deep voice echoed in the forest: "A long ti ago, a shaman said that Lamu Mountain Range was the place where the Beast God lit a fire seed. A very, very long ti ago, Lamu Mountain could spew fire. But after Lord Beast God went to Beast God Mountain, the fire seed extinguished."
Ji Nuan’s lips twitched slightly. The old shaman certainly knew how to spin tales, the Beast God’s place for lighting a fire seed was probably a volcano prior to Lamu Mountain, he mused.
The forest floor was soft and spongy under Xiu Yan’s paw, making sounds like the rustling of leaves as he walked. The noise was almost like a lullaby, causing Ji Nuan to feel a bit drowsy.
Suddenly, Xiu Yan lunged forward, startling the three creatures on his back awake. Ya Li straightened up, making a "hiss" noise, while the tiny kitten clung desperately to Ya Li’s body, its round eyes wide open. If the kitten could speak, it would probably be yelling, "Scared the life out of !".
Ji Nuan instinctively grasped Xiu Yan’s neck as he swayed. After coming to a stop, he asked breathlessly, "What happened? What happened?"
Quite composed, Xiu Yan shook out his fur, flinging off the snake and the cat. They rolled a few tis around the soft ground before coming to a stop.
The little ball of fur not only didn’t get hurt, but surprisingly seed to enjoy this ga. It happily rolled around on the ground, owing cheerfully.
Ya Li angrily hissed at Xiu Yan, revealing its forked tongue to express its discontent.

Ji Nuan took a bamboo canister out of his backpack, washed it thoroughly, and prepared to bite into the radish. Ya Li twitched the corners of his mouth and said, "You don’t even ask if it’s poisonous before stuffing it into your mouth?"
Ji Nuan gave him an exasperated look: "I can tell this radish isn’t poisonous. I certainly don’t need you to analyze it." Ji Nuan retorted.
Ya Li laughed, "I only know the males are capable of differentiating poisonous plants. I had no idea that you could do that too."
Ji Nuan was taken aback, "I just know, okay? I can sll it."
Xiu Yan’s eyes lit up at this, and he asked Ji Nuan, "Just by slling it, you know?"
