The two beasts, with a few robust cals, left the oasis, and the Tribe guard at the entrance inquired about their outing.
Upon learning that they were going hunting, the guard warmly offered assistance, which Ji Nuan smiled and declined.
Having unfamiliar Orcs follow them would affect their performance.
Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan rode out with Maomao and the others away from the oasis; this hunting trip, if lucky, could yield enough food to return before the evening al.
If no beasts were encountered, they might have to spend the night in the desert as before.
Clearly, their luck wasn’t great. Although Xiu Yan was tracking beast scents all along, for so reason, they encountered nothing.
By nightfall, they ate so at soup, set up their tent, and tossed a few sturdy logs into the fire before preparing to rest.
It’s crucial to maintain ample energy while hunting; Maomao and the others seed to have developed the habit of surrounding the tent while sleeping, as if protecting Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan.
In the middle of the night, dense footsteps and heavy breathing suddenly sounded not far from the camp.
Maomao and the companions’ ears twitched as they lifted their heads alertly. Inside the tent, Xiu Yan had already put on the Beast Skin, and Ji Nuan was awakened.
"What kind of beast could be out here so late?" Now a fifth-level evolving Orc, Ji Nuan was not as strong in combat as Xiu Yan, but her hearing, sll, and vision were quite powerful.
