Once Liu Wei broke the third chain, the fourth chain, Fear of Being Hunted, would be broken in the Bottleneck Crusher Chambers.
After all, Liu Wei would have to survive the pursuit of enemies or beasts without hiding cultivation, so the Bottleneck Crusher Chambers was the perfect environnt for it.
Liu Wei was thankful for the Training Domain and the ditation Garden.
[Just thank directly.]
Liu Wei rolled his eyes.
He gazed at ng Ai, who was still imrsed in her own practice, causing Liu Wei to smile.
He did not disturb her anymore and proceeded to the Bottleneck Crusher Chambers…
…
In the Bottleneck Crusher Chambers, Liu Wei was amazed at how realistic the illusory environnt was.
It was even more realistic compared to Manifestation of Stones, as the latter simply aid to focus on the manifestation of Dao, rather than real environnts.
The Bottleneck Crusher Chambers produced real noise, real ti physical movents like earth trembling, and roars of beasts that even lacked Dao.
They were real, Liu Wei felt fear, he was being chased by a beast tide.
He was running between his tails, gritting his teeth from the embarrassnt, especially because he felt fear.
However, he held on until the fourth chain was finally broken.
His fear sharpened his breathing rhythm instead of disrupting it and his Killing Mist Aura began to manifest unconsciously.
Hence, without hesitation, Liu Wei turned around and drew Rhayven to instigate a massacre.
Rhayven was also one of the main reasons Liu Wei felt embarrassed.
Rhayven kept questioning his decision to keep retreating and Liu Wei did not have a choice but to reply and simply say, "It's a way of my cultivation."
Although confused, Rhayven understood after Liu Wei broke the fourth Lung Chain.
Of course, Liu Wei did not instigate a massacre against the beast tide for no reason.
It was to break the fifth Lung Chain, Fear of Slaughter.
He fought continuously amidst mass death and gore of the beasts.
Over ti, the beasts; strength and number continued to rise to the point he was slowly being overwheld.
Liu Wei felt fear again, they were too nurous of them.
Despite swinging his sword repeatedly and releasing everything he had, the beasts seed to have lost their minds and wouldn't mind exchanging their life just to give their fellow beasts a chance to attack him.
Eventually, his fear was inverted and the slaughter cald his breath.
Despite receiving wounds and would soon die under the beast tide, Liu Wei appeared calm now.
He had never felt the sudden strange peace before amidst the idea that he might die.
As expected of the Bottleneck Crusher Chamber, it really easily helped break through the Fifth Lung Chain.
However, what Liu Wei failed to realize was that it has been three days since he was inside the Bottleneck Crusher Chamber.
He lost track of ti after he was running away from fear and slaughtering until he was overwheld and was slowly being consud by terror.
He reached the Foundation Establishnt Stage and his Dao Comprehension in different dao aspects made it possible for him to last for days, or even more than a week, without eating and drinking.
Nevertheless, Liu Wei would only realize how much ti has passed once he felt the hunger kicking in.
"A partial infinite breath, no fatigue or oxygene dependence during combat. What a nice effect."
Liu Wei did not order the puppet worker to stop the Bottleneck Crusher Chamber yet, there was still the sixth chain.
The sixth lung chain was called Fear Dominion.
He must enter absolute despair being surrounded, wounded, or certain of death.
He must refine fear to cease to exist as an emotion and beco breath authority.
Hence, without hesitation, he lasted for three days again to feel the terror and overco it.
He reached the point where he felt he was hungry but he could not stop, until his stamina waned and death was slowly becoming imminent.
Eventually, after another day, the sixth chain was broken and all his six lung chains synchronized becoming a Lung Shackles.
The Demon Breath Dominance was achieved.
Liu Wei turned and glanced at the puppet worker who seed to be untouchable by the beast—obviously avoiding him—and said, "Enough. I've already made a breakthrough."
"Understood."
The dream realm soon dissipated and he returned to reality, where he stood inside an open area of the arena.
Below him was the floor filled with inscriptions and runes.
Liu Wei was interested in learning them now, but only if he has ti in the future.
First, he has to focus on his cultivation to deal with the golden chick.
Liu Wei returned to his personal chamber and the hunger finally kicked in.
He sneered.
"Just in ti that I don't have to spend more ti awakening the Spleen Shackles."
Spleen Shackles are associated with gluttony.
It was not ambition or wrath. It was the instinct to consu, endure, and keep living.
In Blood Demonheart Sutra's terms, "the spleen governs how much life, blood, and death the body can digest without collapsing."
Hence, the very concept of Spleen Shackles was to refine the cultivators' primal hunger.
Hunger for food, blood, vitality, and to survive when everything should have died.
Unlike the liver which stored power, the spleen converts death into nourishnt.
That's why its completion creates its other na, Blood Vitality Bloom.
Each Spleen Blood Chain was forged by mastering a form of gluttony or survival desire.
If uncontrolled, these instincts turn the cultivator into a cannibalistic blood beast.
However, if refined, they beca endless vitality.
The first chain was called the Hunger Chain.
He must refine his physical hunger.
As soon as Liu Wei returned to the ditation Garden, he simply sat and did not activate the Manifestation of Stones but the Silent Bell.
When it rang through his intent, it silences his stray thoughts and clears his ntal realm, enabling him to focus more on breaking the first chain.
The trial on the first chain was quite simple, Liu Wei had to undergo prolonged fasting while circulating his Blood Qi.
Instead of weakening himself, he must convert his hunger into life-force simulation.
This might take a while, so I must succeed on the first try.
Of course, Liu Wei would succeed. If he failed, he would die from hunger.
On the third day, Liu Wei's hunger reached the peak. He felt so weary he simply wanted to lay on the floor in a lifeless position.
However, he persevered until he finally forged the first chain the next day and his strength returned.
With the Hunger Chain being finally forged, his body stopped deteriorating from starvation and Blood Qi began to supplent physical nourishnt.
Now, the second chain to be forged is called Blood Appetite Chain. He must absorb blood essence from slain enemies without losing his sanity.
Li Wei pondered for a while on the places perfect to forge the second chain.
In the end, he faintly recalled that the Bottleneck Crusher Chambers actually produced not only real blood, but blood essence from the beasts he slain.
Without hesitation, he returned to the Bottleneck Crush Chambers again… with worn out clothes.
…
ng Ai finally finished her session as she broke through the late stages of the Body Tempering Stage.
She accepted the tea cup from the puppet worker and drank it.
The puppet worker said, "Right. The librarian entered here to break through in his cultivation."
ng Ai almost spat out the tea as she hastily wiped the tea from her lips and asked, "Did he see ? What did he think? Did he say anything?"
The puppet worker said, "No, he simply watches you imrse in your practice. He also smiled. He seed to be proud of you."
ng Ai heaved a sigh of relief and was happy.
As long as I made Big Brother Liu Wei proud, that's all that matters!
"What are you thinking?"
A voice echoed behind her, startling her awake.
She moved far from the voice and turned around, seeing Liu Wei with his worn out clothes, exposing so part of his body.
She frowned and asked, "Big Brother Liu Wei, where did you go? How co you are in that state? Are you fine?"
Liu Wei smiled and replied, "Unlike you, my cultivation technique requires to cultivate in a very harsh manner."
ng Ai was shocked.
She covered her mouth and asked, "Are you an unorthodox cultivator, Big Brother Liu Wei?"
Liu Wei smiled bitterly.
"Yeah, by force."
ng Ai frowned and lowered her head, pondering.
Liu Wei suddenly appeared in front of her and flicked her forehead, causing her to grimace in pain.
Liu Wei said, "Don't overthink it. I can manage it anyway."
ng Ai stared at Liu Wei and sighed.
"As long as you're fine, Big Brother Liu Wei."
"Mhm."
"Ah, right. I heard you are an alchemist. How co an unorthodox cultivator can be an alchemist, too?"
Liu Wei smiled and replied, "Like you, I'm a dual-path cultivator."
ng Ai was stunned.
"How is that possible?"
"Everything is possible. The library has already taught you that, right?"
ng Ai nodded slowly.
"Again, don't overthink it. Ah, also, don't forget that this is our secret. Only you and I know about it."
[I know, too.]
ng Ai's eyes sparkled. She nodded in excitent.
"Don't worry, Big Brother Liu Wei!"

A/N: I made a grave mistake. Instead of "broke the chain", it should be "forged the chain." I might not be able to correct the past mistakes imdiately, so please be aware of the current changes. Thank you and have a nice read!
