"But why would Sean make bombs?"

After listening to Luo An's description, Mona asked with so confusion:

"Isn't he undercover?"

"Who knows?"

Luo An shook his head, turned to look at Mona, and asked with a grave expression:

"I don't rember seeing this ntioned in Agent Maren's undercover records for this month."

Mona ran back to her seat, carefully checked the files on her computer, and then nodded:

"Yeah."

Hearing the affirmative response, Luo An did not hesitate and imdiately walked into the team leader's office.

"What's up?"

Augustus, who was looking down at his docunts, looked up in surprise at Luo An, who had entered his office without knocking.

But after hearing Luo An's speculation, Augustus's expression imdiately turned serious:

"Are you sure Sean bought those cellphones to make bombs?"

"No, I'm not sure."

Luo An's words made Augustus frown with annoyance, but Luo An continued:

"However, it's better to believe that it's true than false.

I rember you just told that the FBI's Organized Cri Investigation Departnt and the DEA are conducting an operation against the Hyena Gang tomorrow. If their source of information is Sean, then..."

"Then the loss to the Organized Cri Investigation Departnt would be huge."

Augustus nodded, knowing that Dillon from the Organized Cri Departnt was also at the Columbus Foundation, and without wasting another word, he imdiately picked up the phone and dialed Dillon.

"There's such a thing?"

After listening to Augustus's account, Dillon, who was sitting in the conference room discussing the operation plan for the next day with his team mbers, beca as restless as if his buttocks were on fire and could not sit still any longer.

After a few seconds of silence, Dillon gestured for Augustus to hang up the phone for a few minutes and then pressed another number to call the DEA's operation leader for tomorrow.

Inside the office of the Unit 5 team leader, Luo An and Augustus exchanged a look and silently picked up their coffee cups, taking a mont to sip.

After a while, Augustus's phone rang again.

"I really owe you one, Augustus."

Dillon on the other end of the phone had clearly just completed a heated debate and was still sounding a bit choppy:

"The joint operation tomorrow by the DEA is not based on the information provided by Sean, but they also didn't know about Sean buying cellphones..."

After briefly explaining the situation, Dillon's tone was very serious and sincere:

"Augustus, I'm in your debt this ti."

If it weren't for Augustus informing him, the FBI would be caught off guard in the joint operation with the DEA tomorrow, anybody's guess how many agents would die, and Dillon's career would be over.

"Just treat to a drink later."

Hearing the voice on the phone, Augustus laughed, then looked at Luo An and said with a smile:

"However, the tip-off this ti was discovered by one of my subordinates, an agent nad Luo An Greenwood. He's one of us, and when it's ti for drinks, I'll bring him along; don't be upset."

"The Luo An Greenwood who used a pen to kill a serial murderer and was on the New York Daily a few days ago?"

Hearing Augustus's words, Dillon's eyes lit up, he waved his hand as if to say drinking was no big deal, and then ntioned that his investigation team was a bit short-staffed and wondered if Luo An could co help them for a few days.

"Let's get in touch later."

Augustus chuckled, completely ignoring Dillon's suggestion, and promptly hung up the phone.

"Old drunk."

Hearing the dial tone from the phone, Dillon grinned, walked out of his office, and shouted to his agents:

"Thanks to those unreliable DEA guys, let's redraft the operation plan for tomorrow!"

"Yes, sir!"

——

In a distant office of the DEA's New York Branch, group leader ldon snatched up the docunts from the desk and violently threw them at Agent Maren.

"FU-K YOU! Maren!"

Fury rose in ldon's eyes as he pointed at Maren and cursed loudly:

"What the hell are your undercover agents doing?"

What infuriated ldon wasn't the possibility of Maren's undercover agents turning traitor. Here at the DEA, he was accustod to the not infrequent death, betrayal, or disappearance of undercover agents.

What truly enraged ldon was that he wasn't inford of the matter by his own team, nor by any other colleagues within DEA.

Instead, it was those people from the FBI calling to ask him if such an incident had occurred.

Their FBI agents are too precious to die from a misinformation like DEA agents...

This was a disgrace that had spread into other departnts!

"Sorry, boss."

Knowing well ldon's temperant and seeing the anger on his face, Maren didn't argue further but spoke in a grave tone:

"I'll redo the psychological assessnts for my undercover agents..."

"Screw your damn psychological assessnts!"

Hearing this, ldon glared at Maren once again.

Normally, to join departnts like the FBI, CIA, NSA and beco a new employee, one must undergo a series of evaluations including background checks, professional assessnts, lie detector tests, and psychological assessnts. Failing any one of these would an not being hired.

But the DEA is different.

Even if you are bankrupt, economically troubled, have an unsuitable family background, fail the lie detector test, or even have connections to gang mbers, you could still be employed as a new agent at the DEA.

For a simple reason – such people are often sent by the DEA to other countries, like those south of the federation, to infiltrate undercover.

Soone with a clean, unblemished record couldn't possibly penetrate the circles involved in trafficking powder in those southern federal countries.

Therefore, when selecting undercover agents dostically, the DEA does not pay much attention to the aforentioned evaluations.

The so-called psychological assessnt is often no more than a DEA agent and an undercover agent standing together, having a smoke, and a chat.

Taking a deep breath, ldon sat back down in his chair, his eyes fixed on Maren as he asked:

"Did you tell that undercover agent of yours about tomorrow's operation?"

"No, but..."

Upon hearing this, Maren imdiately shook his head, attempted to say sothing but ultimately negated:

"Sean doesn't know about it."

"Good."

ldon exhaled in relief, and while organizing the docunts on his desk, he said with gravity:

"Redefine tomorrow's operation plan, taking into account the uncertainty of the Hyena Gang possibly having remote-controlled bombs. We at DEA can't have agents dying due to misinformation!"

"Yes, boss."

Maren nodded and left the office.

Once the office door was closed, Maren's expression imdiately darkened, and he muttered through clenched teeth:

"Damn it, Sean, and those people from the FBI..."

——

"Good job, Luo An."

After hanging up the phone, Augustus grinned broadly.

"It isn't just my rit, sir."

Shaking his head, Luo An spoke solemnly, "Sean buying the phone was discovered by William. The archives were investigated by Mona. I just deduced that they might have been making a bomb."

"Good!"

Augustus's smile widened upon hearing Luo An's words.
