Elincia and Ivana vs Akiko.
Elincia finally decided to stay on the ground, standing close to Ivana, who kept a magic shield up to protect her. Their opponent, Akiko, floated above them, her bat-like wings flapping steadily as she looked down on them.
"Didn't I tell you?" Akiko sneered. "I just wanted to chat, but you two insisted on fighting . And for what? It's all a waste of effort."
Elincia had thrown everything she had at Akiko earlier, casting magic attack after magic attack, but all of them had been neutralized by Akiko's wings. The constant futility had left her frustrated and emotionally drained.
Now, she'd retreated to the ground, recovering under Ivana's protective skills, while her mind raced with possibilities.
Elincia had a few theories about how Akiko's Gluttony Champion powers worked, but putting them to the test was proving to be nearly impossible. Akiko's agility and mobility were off the charts-she darted and flew effortlessly across the battlefield, evading every attempt to pin her down.
No matter how hard Elincia and Ivana tried, not a single attack had managed to land. The frustration was overwhelming. This fight wasn't just draining their energy-it was pushing Elincia's patience and emotions to their breaking point.
They couldn't let this drag on any longer. Akiko's purpose was clear-to stop Elincia and Ivana from reaching the capital. If they continued defending like this, the battle would never end. The only option left was to kill her, and fast.
"Elincia, do you have another idea?" Ivana asked.
"Yes," Elincia replied. "Let's try again, but this ti, you attack her directly."
"How?"
"Go at her while holding your shield."
Ivana hesitated for only a mont before nodding. "Okay."
As they prepared their next move, Elincia received an update through the guild channel about Broken and Frostedge's battle with Galactron. She sighed heavily, the weight of the enemy's coordinated efforts pressing on her.
"They're really serious about this plan," she muttered to herself.
Elincia floated into the air again, then darted far back across the battlefield.
Akiko's eyes locked onto her imdiately. "Oh, trying to run?" she sneered, flapping her wings to chase after Elincia.
anwhile, Ivana acted. She hurled her shield with incredible speed, the weapon spinning through the air with a loud whoosh that cut through the battlefield's tension.
The shield raced past Akiko in a blur.
Suddenly, Ivana appeared right behind it, gripping the shield firmly in midair. Using her perfect montum, she swung the shield with all her strength, aiming directly at Akiko.
Akiko raised both her swords, crossing them in defense, but the impact was devastating. The clash sent a deafening shockwave through the air, and Akiko's body was hurled backward, crashing into the sky.
It worked!
Akiko, however, was already recovering. Flas mixed with shadows erupted around her body, her aura blazing with renewed intensity. She shot forward with blistering speed, her movents a blur as she nullified Ivana's second attempt to attack.
Akiko lunged at Ivana, aiming to strike her down, but Ivana maneuvered gracefully. She leapt forward, positioning herself for another attack. With her shield raised high, she swung down hard.
The collision was massive. Another clash sent shockwaves across the battlefield, and once again, Akiko was hurled violently through the air.
The realization hit them: direct physical attacks worked. They had found a way to break through Akiko's overwhelming defenses.
[Elincia]: "Turns out your theory was right, Freya."
[Freya]: "Yes, but Ivana will still struggle to kill her. Akiko can keep flying above her, and Ivana can only attack once before falling back to the ground."
[Elincia]: "Exactly. And if I stay grounded, Akiko doesn't co close-she just hovers and stalls for ti. This bitch is really testing my patience."
[Rember]: "I'm going to interrogate Frostedge. I'm sure he knows sothing about Akiko—or at least has a theory."
[Freya]: "Ck! Show him a little respect, Rember. He's not soone who'd act against his principles so easily."
[Rember]: "Such a pain. He's already tead up with Broken against Galactron, though."
[Elincia]: "Has he given you any answers?"
[Freya]: "No."
Freya crossed her arms, continuing. "But if Akiko is really immune to magic damage and can nullify Ivana's shield throw... doesn't it seem like she has so kind of immunity to long- range attacks in general?"
[Elincia]: "That's exactly what I've been suspecting too."
[Freya]: "And no power is without weaknesses. Maybe her blessing only works against attacks cast or launched from a certain range. If we can figure out that threshold, we might be able to exploit it."
[Elincia]: "I've tried attacking from range multiple tis, and she always closes in to disrupt . Let's test it again and confirm."
Elincia floated across the battlefield, her breaths uneven as she desperately tried to evade Akiko, who was relentless in her pursuit. Despite Ivana's best efforts to intercept, Akiko's unmatched agility made her nearly impossible to stop.
Elincia felt utterly helpless in a situation like this. As a pure Mage who relied entirely on Magic Damage, she was completely outmatched. If Akiko could indeed nullify long-range attacks, it ant that Elincia couldn't deal any aningful damage at all.
And it didn't stop there. Akiko's physical damage output, combined with her overwhelming speed and mobility, made her an unstoppable force. Even Elincia's magic shields were rendered useless, as this infuriating woman nullified those as well!
Oh, motherfucker! Elincia cursed inwardly, her frustration bubbling to the surface. This wasn't just a difficult fight—it was downright unfair!
"Elincia!" Ivana shouted, appearing just in ti to block Akiko's next attack. She swung her shield with precision, narrowly stopping a brutal strike aid at Elincia.
The Gluttony Champion was relentless. She twisted through the air, breaking past Ivana's defenses with startling ease.
[Freya]: "She won't let Elincia get away. I think we're right about her strategy."
Ivana managed a strong counterattack, swinging her shield downward with crushing force.
The blow sent Akiko crashing to the ground with a resounding impact.
A streak of lightning followed swiftly, Elincia's attack aid directly at Akiko. But before it could hit, Akiko darted away with terrifying speed, avoiding the strike entirely.
[Freya]: "She dodged Elincia's attack!"
In the next mont, Akiko closed the gap once more, her speed overwhelming. Ivana was a second too late to intercept.
"Damn it, am I really dying here?! Hell no way!" Elincia growled, frustration and panic rising
in her voice.
Akiko's attack was lethal-a decisive skill that would be fatal if it landed. Elincia had no way to defend herself. Her shields were useless, and she couldn't possibly outspeed Akiko's
terrifying flight. A direct hit from this woman would an instant death.
Oh, co on! I haven't even joined the real battle yet!
Elincia's thoughts raced as the swords closed in.
But just as Akiko raised her blades to strike, sothing whirled through the air with incredible speed. The sound was deafening, like a storm tearing through the battlefield.
Before Akiko could react, the object slamd into her with brutal force, sending her hurtling
backward.
She hit the ground hard, her wings folding as her body went completely still.
A mont later, her form began to shatter into pixels, dissipating into the air as she was
defeated-instantaneously and without warning.
The object that had struck her beca clear as it continued spinning wildly: a massive hamr glowing faintly with energy. It spiraled through the air before twisting and spinning
away.
"Who was that?!" Freya shouted from inside the carriage.
"I'm pretty sure he ca for Ivana," Broken said.
