Legendary Awakening: Harem System In The Post-Apocalyptic World Chapter 44: Unease
Max’s expression was calm, almost frigidly so, as he stated, "They were the traitors of the Williams Family and had most likely contributed in bringing them down."
A hint of surprise flashed in Robert’s eyes hearing this. Then, he nodded, "You are right. They had betrayed the Williams Family and it was later revealed that not only had they stopped the reinforcents of the subordinate forces, they were the ones who sohow instigated the other forces to band together and destroy the Williams."
Max’s expression still did not change, however, if Robert had paid enough attention, he would have noticed that his already black pupils had beco pitch black.
But Robert did not and continued after a mont’s silence, "Everything settled down after so ti, but the traitors beca uneasy because they had realized that so of the Williams Family mbers had escaped the purge.
They tried to gather the coalition forces again to find and eliminate the last of Williams, however, since they had already killed all the strongest fighters of Williams Family and the remnants were of no threat to them, the coalition forces shut them down.
However, the traitors couldn’t rest easy and they began scouring the world. But with no Mana left in the outside world to replenish their reserves, this task wasn’t easy.
Even so, they didn’t stop even as years, decades and centuries passed and continued searching. In fact, they have been searching for the remnants until now, only their drive isn’t as strong as it was due to over a hundred generations having passed."
Phew!
Speaking until here, Robert exhaled deeply, tired after speaking so much. However, after drinking so water to wet his throat, he continued.
"During these 10,000 years, the Williams, who had escaped, continued moving to different places, married a few won and birthed so children. They then told them to spread out and multiply.
Those children, after finding out about their illustrious past and the subsequent betrayal and destruction, were enraged and made increasing their number their life’s mission."
Robert’s eyelids twitched as he continued, his tone becoming colder, "Because of this, for generations, all the n your family birthed had been perverts, sowing wild oats everywhere they went.
But at least they were gentlen and took responsibility. That bastard John, however, was a complete scum.
He didn’t take responsibility and disappeared from the lives of the girls he ruined and impregnated.
But thanks to your family’s genes which gave him looks and charm, despite his infamy, he always managed to win the next girl’s heart.
During these wild adventures of his, he t your mother and as expected, he tried to charm her, but she shot him down. Damn, I was very happy that day when I found out about it and felt very proud of my Sarah."
Robert chuckled, but then his expression hardened, but then a month later, I saw her with your father, talking and laughing on her way back from the college and I knew the bastard had succeeded. I told her to break up—"
"Grandpa, I’m not interested in knowing how they t and fell in love. So, can you co to the point?" Max interrupted him and imdiately earned a glare from the old man which made him sigh and forced him to say, "Okay. Continue."
"So, I strongly opposed their relationship, but Sarah had completely fallen for him, saying he wasn’t the sa as before and wanted to marry her, start a family.
Since she wasn’t ready to listen and even threatened to run away with him if I did not agree, I had no choice but to give them my consent. Of course, I also made sure they got married.
Then...
Those traitors’ descendants found him and were about to kill him when Sarah, who had co over at our house for a small family celebration, returned.
Seeing her husband was about to be killed, she tried to fight them off, but she wasn’t strong enough to face them all on her own.
Just when she decided to die with John, the traitors’ leader, Samuel Brown proposed a deal. He wanted Sarah to beco his woman. If she agreed, he would let John live." Robert said, his expression dark.
Robert didn’t notice, but Max’s expression, which had been calm all along, had also turned dark, a strong murderous glint flashing in the depths of his pitch black eyes.
After a short while, Robert looked at him and said, "I don’t know what happened next because when I went over to their house to check up on them after she didn’t contact for weeks and neither she nor John responded to my calls or ssages, I only found a ssy house.
When I checked their in cara recordings, I only saw that much footage before the screen went black—the caras had been deactivated sohow."
"I tried to look for them everywhere, but I didn’t find any clue. But then, a year later, John and Sarah appeared before . They were safe and sound. Moreover... Sarah had you in her arms."
"When I asked them where they had been and how they survived, John told that his elder brother, your uncle, had saved them and they were with him for the year.
Not long after, we moved to the recently established New Island.
For a few years, everything was well, but then suddenly, Sarah ca to —she had divorced John. And although she didn’t tell the reason, I know that the bastard must have cheated on her and broke her heart."
Max frowned when he heard this. He realized the old man probably didn’t have much information about Samuel.
However, after hearing the latter part, he wanted to know more about sothing else.
"Why did she not bring with her? And why didn’t she try to contact or et all these years?" He asked.
Robert opened his mouth to answer, but then shook his head, sighed and stood up. "Let’s go see your mother."
Ba-Dum!
Hearing him say this right when he asked those questions, and the choice of his words made his heart skip a beat, and the faint unease he had been feeling all this while intensified manifold.
