Elias was flying towards the Central Region of the Land of Fables, but there were other students of the academy that had taken a different path.
Amongst them was Rey, who had gone towards the South after getting away from the ssy battle. He didn't still couldn't believe his bad luck. He didn't even receive the evolution stone, but he had to waste an escape crystal just to get out of the battle.
There were still so prominent scars on his body, a gift that he received from the battles. He was even limping on his feet, as blood trickled down his ankles, yet to dry.
Even he didn't understand where the evolution stone went, after he killed Elias. It was as if the stone just dispersed into nothingness, leaving him behind to deal with a huge ss.
"If I knew this was going to happen, I wouldn't have chased after him to take the stone. No... It was better than I did. If he had used the evolution stone, many variables could've appeared. So what if I was hurt a little? At least that bastard will be rotting in hell now!'
Even though the corner of his lips were bleeding, he was still smiling at the fact that he had killed Elias and that he didn't need to see his face anymore. He had taken revenge for his family by killing an Asbborn.
He was even looking forward to the mont when he could tell his father about his success. He had done sothing that his brothers had never managed to do.
In every generation, his brothers had fallen behind the Ashborn Descendants. But this ti, he had achieved the impossible.
"Now as long as I get the Soul Beast that my father told about, everything would be perfect." He walked forward with a limp as he observed the map that he had received from his family.
Just like other maps, this map also had so dangerous areas marked in them. But there were also so other marks that guided him towards his next destination.
"As for the other bastards, I will deal with them later!"
Just like Rey, the other descendants of major families also had plans of their own as they approached the Soul Beasts that they had identified before even setting foot in the Land of Fables.
All of them were guided by their families and even given resources to make it easier for them to succeed.
In a sense, it was less of a battle between the descendants and more of a battle between their families to see who could obtain a higher-tier soul beast.
Almost all the descendants of the Major Families were aiming for a high-tier fable. The only difference was that the fables they targeted lived near the edge of the Land of Fables, their threat level being far lower than the Nightmare-Level Fables that resided in the central region.
There was another difference between their approach and Elias's. They knew their limits. They understood that they weren't strong enough to defeat the High-Tier Fables.
Even if they could defeat them, it was impossible to turn them into a Soul Beast as long as the fable was unwilling.Their approach was more about convincing a High-Tier Fable, using the sches passed down by their families based on their own experiences.
So of them went south, so went east, and others went west of the Land of Fables. None of them even tried to go north, as they would need to pass through the central region for that.
"I am Rey Esterin, a descendant of the Esterin Family. I have co to speak with you!" Rey was the first person to reach the domain of the Soul Beast he was targeting, but he didn't enter right away.
He knew that the mont he entered the domain, he would be at the rcy of its owner. He could even feel a heavy killing intent coming from within the domain. He stopped right outside the threshold.
He took a small gem out of his pocket and tossed it inside the domain. "I'm sure you can see what this is."
A few seconds passed before the earth started trembling as if sothing was approaching. Soon, a large beast ca into Rey's sight and stopped right before the gem.
"A fragnt of a Constellation's Soul..." The Beast's voice echoed, its eyes fixed on the item with greed.
"I'm sure you understand what it ans," Rey said, cautiously observing the frightening creature that could kill him in a second if it could step outside. "The complete soul can help you evolve into a Constellation, and my family holds the rest of it. Only we can help you evolve."
"As I told you, I am a descendant of the Esterin Family. We had nothing to do with the destruction of your world or even your imprisonnt. If anything, we are also enemies of the family that put you here."
"If you agree to submit to , not only will you receive your freedom from this hellish place, but you will also get an opportunity to evolve into a Constellation in the near future."
It was said that one could never convince a fable to submit with brute force. The stronger the fable, the harder it was to ta it.
Just approaching them was a shortcut to the afterlife. However, the sa rules didn't apply to people like him. He already had sothing that no fable could reject, especially a High Tier Fable with an extrely pure bloodline that was just perfect for it.
He brought out the bead that was used to take a beast, sothing he received from the Professor. He bit his thumb, and marked the bead with his blood.
After completing the process from his side, he tossed the bead inside the domain. The bead rolled on the ground, only to stop before the beast.
