Chapter 115: Discovery of Plot, The Deception Wear Thin
If humans had a soul, when these people descended to hell and beca ghosts, would they regret their actions in life? They treated human life as grass, completely disregarding them. Their cris were unpardonable!
Feng Lin didn’t know anything about this.
But since they died in the hands of the clone soldiers, it could be said that their ends were justifiable. The punishnt fitted their cris.
Feng Lin paid close attention to the changes of the situation.
The Giant Pharmaceutical Company had already crumbled, and now, this was a matter of life-and-death. It was about ti to draw his dagger now that all other ans were exhausted.
Frank was like a god of death. Every ti he called a na out, that person would die almost imdiately.
Before these ferocious clone soldiers, the weak researchers were like lambs waiting to be slaughtered. They didn’t dare or have any ans to resist at all.
Naturally, Feng Lin was the only exception.
If Frank called his na out, Feng Lin wouldn’t bother hiding his abilities anymore.
He was ready anyti to unleash his full strength!
But contrary to his expectations, as the na calling continued, Feng Lin’s na wasn’t included in the to-be-killed list.
Feng Lin pondered a little over this and soon ca to a realization.
There was a limit to the space of the flying shuttle. These people whose nas were called out were those who had inferior achievents or sub-par performance. The lousier one was, the earlier they would be eliminated until only fifty people were left behind.
For Feng Lin, regardless of his modification of the Adrenaline Potion or his creation of the ‘flawed’ Crystallization dicine Creation Technique, his achievents were considered pretty good. This was why although the na calling had been going on for a long ti, his na wasn’t ntioned at all.
When he thought about this, he felt even more confident.
The number of people here continuously dwindled. Right now, only fifty-one was left.
The eyes of everyone present shone with hope.
As long as one more na was called out, the remaining ones would all be able to survive.
As for these clone soldiers? They were just tools to be used, no one treated them as humans.
The eyes of everyone was fixed on Frank, waiting for him to call out the last na.
“Matsushita Onijin!” Frank called out a japanese na. This was none other than Feng Lin’s assistant.
Those whose nas weren’t called felt a sense of relief as they let out a breath they were holding in.
They were finally safe...
Seeing so many of their colleagues dying, their hearts almost already leaped out of their chest. Who would have thought that they managed to survive until the end?
“Baka!” Matsushita Onijin, whose na was called out, involuntarily cursed in his mother tongue.
Although he was now already soone of the White Race, he wasn’t able to completely suppress his upbringing.
“Frank-san, my achievents are so outstanding. Why do you want to abandon ? I’m a geneticist and had created a bleaching potion that can allow any humans of different skin color to beco that of the White Race!” He did his best to defend himself.
“Apologies, that potion isn’t of much use to us. We have the divine blood ritual and can allow soone to completely transform into a child of god perfectly. Your potion can only change the color of one’s skin, and it cannot change one’s base and bloodline. It’s really not that useful.” Frank coldly spoke, announcing Matsushita Onijin’s death sentence.
“How can that be?” Matsushita wasn’t able to accept this. Ever since he was young, he had always wished to beco a white man. This was why he had invented the bleaching potion and beca a geneticist, eventually joining the Giant Pharmaceutical Company.
He originally thought that after the divine blood ritual and after he beca a child of god, he would be considered an extrely important existence among the White Race and had already reached the peak of life.
Who would have thought that at the very end, he would be emotionlessly abandoned just like that?
“Divine blood ritual?” He mumbled, staring as the clones moved toward him. His heart was filled with an intense unwillingness to accept this.
All of a sudden, a streak of black-light flashed across his blue eyes. Matsushita Onijin’s heart was filled with the desire to live. He suddenly pointed his finger at Feng Lin. “What about him? Why isn’t he eliminated?”
Frank replied, “Feng Lin has outstanding achievents and is a supre genius even among the geniuses of our Giant Pharmaceutical Company. Hence, he isn’t in the elimination na list.”
“That’s unfair! This brat has yet to experience the divine blood ritual, and his hair and eyes are still black. He isn’t soone like us with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is of a different race and is not worthy of trust. Why don’t you eliminate him but choose instead?” Matsushita Onijin used the fact that he was now of the White Race to gain the sympathy of others, pointing the spearhead at Feng Lin.
The other egg-human researchers were sowhat convinced as well, as they started to discuss.
“That’s true. This fellow has black hair and yellow skin. He is different from us. We cannot trust him!”
“Before undergoing the divine blood ritual, he is not of the sa race as us!”
“In any case, although he is a genius, didn’t his crystallization technique fail as well? His achievents aren’t any greater than Matsushita!”
“Matsushita Onijin’s ability might be a little inferior. But although he didn’t have any remarkable achievents, he had worked hard for the company for many years. He can be considered a pioneer of our Giant Pharmaceutical Company, and we shouldn’t eliminate him so rcilessly!”
...
The sounds of discussion rang out.
Not of my race, untrustable!
This logic was applicable anywhere in the world.
Before this, these people had all received benefits from Feng Lin as he imparted the knowledge of the crystallization technique to them. Also, the formless influence of hypnotism had caused them all to feel goodwill toward him.
But now, in a life-and-death situation, it was useless no matter how much they were hypnotized because of their self-preservation instincts.
The will to live was larger than any other emotions.
Feng Lin’s eyes were imasurably deep. He initially thought that nothing would happen to him. Who would have thought that at the very end, sothing like this would occur?
Staring at the ugly-looking face of Matsushita Onijin, he coldly laughed in his heart.
As expected of a Japanese. Even though he changed his race, his jackal-like personality and the habit of biting at his own master would never change.
Nurous gazes then turned to Feng Lin, filled with enmity and rejection.
Frank exchanged a glance with Aike. His gaze suddenly turned secretive.
Matsushita Onijin felt more and more hope when he saw everyone hesitating. He continued in a loud voice, “Although this Feng Lin has modified the formula for the Adrenaline Potion and potion of life before, the crucial crystallization technique he has been researching on is still a failure even now. Maybe, everything he said before was just a fabrication, and this technique is destined never to be perfected. No one else has such strong ntal energy as him; hence, no one would be able to verify what he has said. Everyone, don’t be fooled by him!”
In order to protect his life, he frenziedly vilified his taskforce leader Feng Lin. His actions were simply despicable.
He had clearly forgotten that fawning look on his face when he had wanted Feng Lin to impart the knowledge of the crystallization technique to him.
Right now, even Frank had fallen silent.
Aike suddenly added by the side, “Manager, ti is scarce. If we don’t make a decision now, everything would be too late.”
“Feng Lin is a genius, but Matsushita is an old employee of the company. How do I choose, this decision is extrely difficult.” Frank hesitated.
That Aike suddenly flashed a cold smile at Feng Lin.
Feng Lin suddenly felt a sense of unease.
Aike decided to just throw fire to the oil. “Although Matsushita’s talent is sowhat ordinary, he is undoubtedly a very loyal employee who has been with us for a long ti. Also, since he is Feng Lin’s assistant, he should have fully learned the crystallization technique. As for Feng Lin, although his talent is outstanding, he has yet to go through the divine blood ritual, and we cannot trust him. Now, in such dangerous tis, we cannot take any risk. There’s also a very good saying out there—a dead genius is no longer genius!”
Feng Lin’s gaze turned heavy. Aike, after knowing that his position was threatened, treated Feng Lin as a nail in his eye and wanted him to die no matter what.
This was clearly a conflict of interest and benefits. It was impossible to change his thinking even with hypnotism.
“Feng Lin, my apologies. You can only bla it on the fact that you have not succeeded in perfecting the crystallization technique.” Frank finally sighed. With a wave of his hand, a group of clone soldiers surrounded Feng Lin.
His gaze had no emotions. It was like Frank had already seen the ending of Feng Lin plumting down into the lava and being burned into a crisp.
That Matsushita Onijin felt extrely fortunate, being able to return to life at the boundary of death.
Seeing these clones moving nearer toward him, although Feng Lin felt rage in his heart, he didn’t panic at all. His strength was his, no one could take that away. At most, he would simply punch his way out.
If he fully displayed his strength, even for the Mars Revolutionary Army, if they didn’t send a massive number of people to surround him, they wouldn’t be able to obstruct him at all.
It was just that Feng Lin felt reluctance in his heart. If he left now, it ant that he would forever forgo the chance of entering the ancient mythological ruins left behind by the Furnace Immortal Sect, and he wouldn’t be able to obtain the true inheritance.
Unless he really had no choice, he didn’t wish to do this.
His achievents truly couldn’t be considered bad. Just because he wasn’t of the sa race as them? Frank decided to give him up because of this?
Feng Lin silently mused. He felt that he should take out a heavy-enough stake to change Frank’s mind.
All of a sudden, a thought flash in his mind. Before the clones could get any nearer, he shouted out loudly.
“Wait a minute! I’ve already made a major breakthrough. The Crystallization dicine Creation Technique is already perfected!”
“What, this is impossible!” Everyone exclaid in disbelief.
“He is lying! I have monitored him for many days, and he has never even succeeded once!” Matsushita Onijin leaped up like a rat with its bottom burned.
But as he spoke, his voice ca out in a strange warble, like a duck with its throat seized. He couldn’t say anything else.
There was a jade-green translucent crystal in Feng Lin’s hand, resembling the most beautiful object on earth. The mont it appeared, it drew the gazes of everyone present. They weren’t able to shift their eyes away from it.
