Lu Xuanyu reached out to shake hands with Bruce, and then suddenly recalled what Xiang Shan had ntioned in the morning, and couldn’t help but laugh: "Is this so kind of... Aikido skill demonstration?"
Bruce was montarily stunned, then chuckled as well: "If you want, I can demonstrate a bit. But I don’t think it will be of any use to you."
The two hands grasped each other.
At this mont, Lu Xuanyu clearly felt a force "hanging" on his hand, pulling towards the ground. He could distinctly feel Bruce Debasser adjusting his body’s center of gravity.
Lu Xuanyu lowered his head to feel it for a mont, then shook his head: "This... as expected, I still don’t get it."

I don’t feel pain."
This Aikido handshake technique works because people fear pain and will move according to the instincts of self-protection, aligning with the intent of the Aikido practitioner.
It’s simply a demonstration that looks mystical, but the technique itself isn’t practical.
However, a martial artist can utilize other techniques in actual combat based on this principle.
In every way, it’s equally difficult.
Aikido isn’t a complete martial arts system.
"Speaking of which, I’ve always had a question, very curious... but it might be a little rude." As the two walked toward the hotel, Lu Xuanyu said.
"What do you want to ask? Why Aikido?"
"Yes." Lu Xuanyu nodded: "Why do you call yourself a practitioner of My-Style Aikido? To make it through the preliminary rounds, you must be quite skilled... The elents of your martial arts can’t just consist of Aikido. There are no competition rules in Aikido; you must have used other rules. Judo or MMA? The other components in your martial arts must weigh heavily."
Bruce looked up at the sky: "And you? Why do you call yourself a practitioner of New Jeet Kune Do? The other parts of your martial arts weigh heavily too, right? Look, your boxing can contend directly with various boxing champions, and your judo is enough to throw down Olympic champions... Even Bruce Lee found it difficult to outperform professional boxers under the boxing rules. Jeet Kune Do is only a half-finished boxing technique."
"Jeet Kune Do isn’t a specific technique, but an attitude, a way of expressing oneself," Lu Xuanyu reflected, "Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do absorbed boxing footwork, among many other martial arts. As long as you grasp the main characteristics, Jeet Kune Do can coexist with any type of boxing technique. I like this open concept."
"Then, ’My Aikido’ is the sa." Bruce Debasser said: "It’s my most favored martial art. It’s the most suitable technique for subduing street thieves."
"Well..." Lu Xuanyu scratched his head: "I feel like police grappling techniques might be more suitable?"
"I heard that Japanese police grappling techniques are based on street fighting skills derived from Judo. And Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido, was a Jujutsu master before creating Aikido." Bruce said, "If you are willing to look carefully, it’s easy to find common ground between Aikido techniques and grappling techniques."
"Then why not directly learn police grappling techniques?"
"I am a volunteer police officer, not a police officer. All my actions are purely voluntary; I have no law enforcent authority." Bruce said plainly, "I feel obligated to avoid causing the criminal’s death in the fight against them. I have no right to pass judgnt, nor should I kill those who don’t deserve death."
Lu Xuanyu clapped his hands: "I know, I know, this is like Batman’s ’No-Kill Vow’, right?"
Bruce smiled: "It’s almost that aning... Of course, I’m certainly not Batman. Our goals differ. I can only counter those petty thieves. The kind the police might not focus on intensely."
"I restrict myself with the rules of the boxing ring; I believe I should prevent them from suffering harm exceeding their cri’s severity. At tis, I also encounter those misguided youths. In those cases, I feel it’s more crucial to choose a non-harmful ans to subdue and intimidate them, ’persuading’ them to go ho obediently."
"Aikido techniques aren’t for use in the ring, but in these situations, they’re quite useful."
Lu Xuanyu nodded. Indeed, you can imagine that many of Aikido’s demonstrative techniques can’t be used in the ring, an nothing to experts, yet are quite effective in deterring those who haven’t systematically studied it. Youths who don’t understand the true essence of martial arts often misjudge an opponent’s strength due to what seems like "magic" or "fairy arts" demonstrations.
"I never thought of it this way..." Lu Xuanyu admired.
Many techniques in Central Plains martial arts are also applied in "street fighting," but Lu Xuanyu rarely has conflicts with others in the street.
"Most of my adversaries don’t have the resolve to fight till death." Bruce stated, "I train physically during the day or learn techniques from local Judo dojos. Unconsciously, Aikido concepts have already seeped into all my techniques."
Lu Xuanyu asked: "Have you never encountered vicious criminals?"
"Ard robbers? I would call the police." Bruce suddenly laughed, "Although ’Batman’ is a Federation comic... fortunately, I’m not a Federation citizen."
Compared to the Federation’s deeply rooted gun culture, most normal countries have regular firearm control.
"Batman is said to have mastered 127 different martial arts, each to the highest degree. I’ve only learned a little over ten. Except for Aikido, none of them stand out in a single field." Bruce looked at his hand, "If you ca at with full power, I probably couldn’t last more than a few rounds."
"But I also don’t know how to subdue a group of misguided youths." Lu Xuanyu shrugged, "Different martial arts have different application scenarios."
"The reason I signed up was to witness the higher realm of martial arts techniques. And as a comics fan, I wanted to see a remodeler martial artist in reality—a superhero at that. You’re so much like a superhero, Lu." Bruce spread his arms wide, exaggeratedly said.
Lu Xuanyu scratched his head, sowhat embarrassed.
