The Association had gone through everything that Darisu and the others told them. The Transponders were placed under maximum security, they knew that the Cruz family would do anything to make sure that there was no way for their son to get caught.

Liu was more worried that the Cruz family would co for them without paying their son anything. It was not even clear why they would even want to bother paying him after all he did to them.

"He is not going to let this slide you know," Keith was going through everything that they said happened in the dungeon.

"He is soone who even when the case looks odd would want to use a loop and make sure that they would pay for what happens."

Liu was looking at his partner, he knew that there was no way for them to even think of countering what Nathan and his family had in mind.

"I knew that they would be thinking ways to make sure that he is not going to be taken down and it is not even what I want to be worried about now."

Liu dropped a file on the desk, he was trying to pin sothing down. It was annoying but he was going to find out what was going on.

"For the past few days, there has been a dangerous influx of mana in the following regions, and whenever we go to investigate they disappear but leave a trace of uncharted mana."

Keith was looking at the file, and he could see that there was sothing to it.

"So what is it?"

He looked at the file, trying to see if he would follow what was going on. It was not sothing he would have even expected to see there.

"I don’t know but then the readings didn’t feel like sothing that would co from a dungeon gate."

Liu placed another file on the table, and it was marked classified.

"We did a sweep on the sites, but then we didn’t find anything that led us to any conclusion only one thing stood out in all the sites..."

Keith looked up, he felt sothing odd in Liu’s voice and he could tell that there was sothing he didn’t know how they would get.

"What is it?"

Liu took a seat, he was looking at Keith. Knowing that there was a chance that it wasn’t going to be easy for them to even understand what was going on.

"It felt like sothing was trying to pry its way into our city and if it did so there was no way for us to even do anything to stop them."

"Them?"

Keith was surprised, looking at Liu he was not even sure that there was a possibility that there was sothing trying to make its way into their world like that.

"Yes them," Liu pointed to the other part of the file, looking at it he was trying to place everything in order for Keirh to understand.

"There are different readings from different angles and you know that there is no way for to be wrong."

He arranged the files in a particular order, looking at it they had sothing different to show.

"The readings from the one in down central was the weakest but if I was not mistaken it was matching that of an S-ranked dungeon and it had this calm and terrible cry with it."

He pointed at the second one, "This one has a very strong reading, it was also seen as S-ranked but I would call it SS-rank with what I couldn’t explain."

"Then this!"

He pointed to another one, his eyes were fixed on the files trying to know if he was making sense.

"This one had a powerful reading, it was SS-ranked but then I thought this would be the strangest but then this last one had an uncharted wave and I was trying to put my head through it all but then it was enough to make wonder."

He looked at Keith, his eyes were darting around.

"I don’t know if I am going insane but if what I felt was real then there is a chance we are going to be facing sothing that might take more than SS-ranks to work through it."

Keith Confused than ever wanted to know what was going on and why it was feeling like sothing out of a nightmare. "What in the world is all this you’re saying?"

Liu sat down, his eyes on the file. He didn’t breathe heavily, rather he was trying to get everything out of his head.

"If everything is correct then it ans that there is sothing trying to pry its way into our city and they aren’t normal beasts."

Keith, staring at Liu, knew more than anyone that he was never wrong when it ca to things that bothered him like this.

"We have to be ready."

Back at Darius’s house, Theo was looking down on the floor. His entire body shook from the horror he had witnessed inside Darius’s head, it was not sothing that anyone would tell him to brace for.

"You okay?"

Darius placed his hand on Theo’s back, he was not sure what was going on in his head at the mont or how the entire thing had left him.

"I don’t know man," Theo muttered, he kept staring at the floor. "I never thought that I would see sothing like this inside your head, or even look into your head."

Darius smiled, he knew that everything was too overwhelming for even him to grasp. And he had been with the powers for a while now, he tried his best not to push it too far.

"C’mon now, I know it’s all too much but I didn’t want to keep anything from you for this long."

Darius was even more worried that Theo would judge him, he didn’t know how he was going to be able to explain even further what the powers were.

"That’s not my problem," Theo spoke up, he raised his head looking Darius in the eye.

"I have seen you, and there is no way anyone would know that you are even carrying sothing this big. You smile and act like you’re okay but in reality!"

Theo couldn’t control the tears falling from his eyes, he didn’t know how he was going to explain what he had seen and why it felt like there was no hope for them.

"You always smile and act like you’re not going through anything, even when you are being crushed by sothing that eerie you would never let your despair get to anyone why are you doing all this?!"

He was looking at Darius, he could see the look on his face and he knew that there was nothing but pain behind his smile.

Darius let out a little chuckle, he was looking at the ceiling with a smile on his face.

"It isn’t good to let others share your pain, and I don’t like to see the people I love go through anything like this."

"Even when it is crushing all the bones in your body?!" Theo cut him off, looking Darius in the eye.

"Even when you scream for help and no one can hear you? When you are being burnt to a crisp? When you can’t even think of an escape route?"

He was looking at his friend, sadness overcoming his heart as he could not even care about the tears falling.

"That day at the Kumunari Cobra dungeon, you were facing it with a tir on. If you didn’t end it then sothing would have happened to . I was a stranger to you then but still you fought with everything you got to make sure that...make sure that...."

Theo fell on his knee, he was crying uncontrollably.

"You didn’t know , but you fought to protect and I suspected that you were soone dangerous."

Darius smiled walking close to Theo, he placed his hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, it’s fine."

"It’s not Darius, you are fighting all the ti even when we don’t know you are battling things that no man would be able to stand against. Divine trials, gods, abyssal creatures."

He looked at the young warrior, he didn’t know what he was going to call it but he could feel that there was no way for him to stop.

"Yet you don’t even want to be the captain of the guild, you have so much in you but yet you don’t want to do anything about it or even take the mantle."

"Because I can’t handle it," Darius said, he smiled looking at Theo. He sat down next to him, nothing could prepare them for what was coming next.

"Theo,"

"Huh?"

"You said that you never knew what it felt like to be a family.."

Theo turned to Darius, he could see the sa smile on his face.

"What are you—"

"Beco part of our family, My brother...Theo Sung Winters!" Darius had a smile on his face.

"I believe I can trust you with Lena and my life when it cos to it."
