The living room, kitchen, and all common areas that one usually used in their day-to-day lives have been cleaned.

All that was left to take care of was the shed and the garden... as there was no reason to hurry, he told her to take her ti to work on it.

Furthermore, there was nothing left to do.

Charlotte gave a wry smile when she heard what he said.

"Since I'm in your debt," she said, "I figured I should do whatever I can to help out."

"You're so serious..."

Despite his astonishnt, Allen did a quick visual inspection of her health.

Her skin glowed with radiance, her pupils shone with brilliance and even the rhythm of her respiration seed strong and healthy.

There was nothing wrong with her physical condition, so there should be no problem to leave her be but... he was still worried about her.

"You can take it easy in the morning, you know."

"Yes, but... it has beco a habit."

"... Back ho, did you clean the house every day too?"

"Ha ha..."

Charlotte laughed ambiguously.

No matter how corrupt they were, her ho was ultimately still the ho of a duke. There must have been plenty of servants.

Even so, to deliberately have Charlotte clean it... He did not know what kind of intentions were there, but it probably would not be a pleasant one.

As Allen thought about it, all his drowsiness drifted away.

Allen's stomach was filled with a queasy feeling that was a hundred tis worse than the hangover he felt the day after drinking excessively.

It made his brow furrow. Charlotte, not knowing what to think, bowed her head.

She said, "Well, then, good night. I'll be as quiet as I can while I clean."

With these words, she strode quickly to the entryway.

Allen had no choice but to let her leave. He stroked his chin after watching her back disappear around the corner.

"I can't believe you still have nothing bad to say about them after being treated like that..."

They did not rely treat her like she was a servant -- she was treated even lesser than that!

On top of that, she was forced to leave her ho for a cri she did not commit.

And yet, she did not even utter a single word of resentnt to her family or to her forr fiancee, the prince, who was the source of the problem.

If Allen was in her shoes, he would have thoroughly crushed all of them...

"Perhaps it's not that she doesn't hold a grudge, but rather, it is possible she did not even think to bear a grudge?"

Even if she did think of it, Allen was under the impression that she would be too afraid to say them out loud...

Perhaps the underlying reason for this was a sense of fear of them or a low sense of self-esteem.

In addition to that, it was not as fun as it sounded.

With a difficult look on his face, he kept groaning down the hallway.

"Good morn-- eh? Who are you?"

"Oh, uh, uh......."

From the entryway, there appeared to be a second voice.

Hearing them, Allen ran out of the house as if he had been shot.

He ran to the entryway at the highest speed he had ever run.

Sure enough, the worst possible scene was taking place.

"Wait a minute!"

"Oh, Allen!"

"What--?"

Charlotte was holding a broom while Miaha who was here to deliver a package stood shocked.

At the worst possible ti, the girls had t up with each other in a spectacular fashion. Obviously, this was a terrible situation.

Allen casually shielded Charlotte behind his back and turned to face Miaha.

"I'm sorry, she's a recently hired maid. She's the shy type."

"Ehh-- you know how to hire a maid, Demon King?"

"What? Demon King?"

Charlotte let out a little scream. It made Allen's head spin.

"It's just a nickna, a nickna. It's a disgrace."

"Isn't it a fitting title for you? Even so..."

Miaha smiled and stared at Charlotte's face behind Allen's back.

"I've seen this maid's face before," she said, "specifically in a recent newspaper."
