But i i was not one of those ordinary people, she continued walking, only to stop when one royal agent intercepted her.
"Get out of my way." She snapped, trying to walk around him but another agent joined, signalling that she should return to the table.
i i, whose eyes were burning turned and looked at Junjie. "You always do this--you must have your way in every argunt. Well I won’t let you win this one and the only words I want to hear from you are ’I am sorry and I am removing my nose from your private affairs."
Junjie’s eyes narrowed, he smiled but the smile did not reach his eyes. It just drew his mouth into a tight line. "And you always do this--you just have to make everything impossible. I say go left, you go right. When I say its black you say its white. Not everything needs to be complicated i i."
"I agree on that." i i laughed bitterly. "My divorce is one of those things that don’t need to be complicated. Raise your hands if you have complicated it." She looked out dramatically.
Of course there was no raised hand in the room but they all knew that the one responsible for making her divorce sowhat complicated was the emperor who kept hoping that she would delay it and continue acting as a happy couple with Mo Liang. He had gone so far as to have her kidnapped so that she could attend a funeral with Mo Liang.
Junjie opened his mouth to protest but stopped. Maybe she was right. If he had not intervened right from the beginning, maybe the ink would already be dry on those divorce papers by now.
"This is probably the worst fight we have ever had in twenty seven years of friendship." Junjie sighed. "When we last t we were fighting about Mo Liang and now we are seeing each other after so long and still, we are fighting about him."
It worried him what this fight could lead to. Even though they had been out of contact for many years, he still regarded her as one of his closest friends. He did not want this matter to break apart what had been built a long ti ago.
Silence stretched between them, long and unbearable. i i made no response to Junjie’s last statents. It seed. this fight had landed them nowhere. They were right back to where they started, only angrier with even more misunderstandings.
"Move." i i shoved the royal agent.
This was the sa royal agent that seed to have a chip on his shoulder whenever he saw her. From the ti Junjie had arrived, this royal agent had glared at i i more than a few tis.
When she shoved him, he responded physically, raising a hand to hit her. i i reacted quickly, activating the boxing skills that the system had given her. She sidestepped effortlessly, delivering a swift uppercut to the jaw of the agent that sent his sprawling.
She over heard Junjie yelling at his agents to stop the one that hit her. The man was determined to teach her a lesson because he did not stay down, he was already charging toward her.
Soone pulled on i i’s arm, she elbowed them in the ribs and gestured at the agent to keep coming. He could not because two other agents were holding him back.
The others were rushing to aid the emperor who was keeled over, moaning in pain. He was the unfortunate victim of i i’s elbow.
"She hit the emperor, get her." The agent she had beaten shouted.
None of the other agents moved however, they were waiting for the emperor’s instructions. So far the only instruction he had given them was to apprehend one of their own.
i i turned around and she looked at Junjie who was standing behind her. She smiled and said, "Last week, Mo Liang nearly broke my arm at the funeral you forced to attend. I have been brushing up on my self defense skills since then. The next ti he touches or Mingzhu, you will have to exhibit the natural teeth of the national space pilot on television."
Loudly, she exhaled and said. "I am not weak Junjie, I was temporarily asleep but now I am awake. I don’t care who it is, if anyone tries to harm and my child I will break them in half. I am giving you one last chance, if you protect Mo Liang again, there will be no way back for us. It will be the end of our friendship and relationship between our families."
She left, just like that and Junjie and his n followed her. They did not continue the tour but left The Hollow imdiately. Before their flying cars departed, Junjie had already fired the royal agent that tried to hit i i. Not only had he taken liberties and made assumptions but he had also almost laid a hand on his friend.
If she did not dodge his palm and punch him, it would have been really bad for her. Junjie had not yet imagined what the Jun or Chi families would have done if one of his royal agents beat up i i.
At the space camp, i i had just ducked into a bathroom to have a mont to breathe and gather herself. She was vibrating with anger and she did not want Mingzhu to et her like this. Not just Mingzhu but other parents and their children, potential clients.
She thought she was alone, but she was not. Soone wrapped their arms around her waist from behind and hugged her. Over ti, through the years, she had beco familiar with Mo Jingzhe’s soft powdery fragrance that slled like irises.
It did not surprise her that he was hugging her. Every ti he got a chance lately, he found a reason to hug her. In the morning before breakfast today, he had added sniffing her to the list of liberties he was taking.
She drew in a deep breath and opened her eyes. They were standing near the bathroom countertop, in front of one of the mirrors.
"What are you doing in here?" she asked.
"I followed you." he answered honestly. Both of his hands tightened around her waist. "i i, did that silly emperor do sothing to annoy you? Is he still determined to protect Mo Liang? Did he tell you to delay your divorce again for the sake of national affairs?"
Jingzhe had already acquired a full map of the royal palace. He would sneak inside and give the emperor a few slaps in the night. Maybe he could take so humiliating pictures and send them to the peep star. i i was his, if he could not protect her from the emperor, he would be failing in his duty.
He considered giving his mother-in-law a call. Maybe she she could give him so advice.
