After putting a well behaved Mingzhu to bed, i i passed by Jingzhe’s bedroom and he let her in quickly.
He followed her to the bed like a chick happy to its mother. "i i, what a surprise. Why are you carrying a first aid box?"
She patted the bed. "Sit down, Chen mama told that you scalded your hand when you were cooking. Who told you to cook the goat ribs in person? Don’t you know that I feel hurt when you are injured?"
Jingzhe folded his lips, hoping his ears would not give him away again.
i i pulled his hands and she observed his hands carefully. He had a reddish mark on the back of his left hand where hot water seed to have scalded him. She raised her hand and pinched his cheek.
"Mo..no, Feng Jingzhe, don’t do this next ti. Your mother told that you are good at baking and you enjoy it so I cannot stop you from doing that but as for the rest, you don’t need to do it. We will have to cut the chef’s salary if you take his job."
"But I just want to cook for you." He told her.
"I know." She patted his hand. She understood that he cared about her and wanted to make her happy. But, making soone happy did not need an harming yourself. She had learned that the hard way. " Don’t do it again, got it?"
He nodded.
She applied dicine for him slowly, taking her ti as if she afraid to injure him sohow. As she tended to his wounds, he watched her through eyes that were filled with adoration and love that was deeper than a lover’s last goodbye.
"I love you." The words swam in his mind like a river seeking for the smallest pat to take and find a new ho. He repeated the words over and over, wishing that she could sohow hear them and say them back to him.
"i i..." he whispered.
"Done," She stood up and patted his head. "Do you need a snack before bed? We did not eat the mooncakes I brought back."
He sighed and dell back on the bed. Jingzhe couldn’t fathom if he should have been relieved that she finished before he could confess or sad because he had lost the opportunity to tell her what secrets he had been keeping inside his heart for a decade.
"I will ask Chen mama to send you...." She started.
He did not let her finish her words as there were no mooncakes left. "Mingzhu and general big yellow ate them all. I am afraid that you will only find crumbs in the box now. Mingzhu’s appetite seems to have grown recently."
i i knew why. It was because of the serum she had given to her daughter.
"And the dog, I think it has worms or a worm hole in its stomach. I don’t know how it can eat so much and yet still drool an hour later when it sees new food." He added. "What do you think?"
"I think it will be a very big dog in future." She said. "Did that vet ever tell you what breed it is?"
"Malamute mixed with German shepherd, a dash of Newfoundland and an unidentified species."
"That explains the big head, Newfoundland dogs have big heads. The Malamute explains the howling and German shepherd explains the toughness." i i chuckled.
"The unknown explains the worm hole stomach." Jingzhe concluded.
i i yawned as she pictured what general big yellow would look like in the future. "It is going to be one big dog."
"A giant." Jingzhe said with chills running over his skin. "With so much fur."
i i moaned. The fur!! She loved furry animals but she was not a fan of the fur which got everywhere. As she was thinking about all that fur, she suddenly had an idea. What if she collected all of it and shoved it down Tang Yue’s throat the next ti the woman ca to her looking for trouble?
She had a feeling that she had not seen the last of Tang Yue or the Mo’s.
"You can even feed them exploding dog poop lollipops." C4 suggested.
She snorted. "Why does everything have to explode when it cos to you?"
"I am C4, what do you expect?" The system replied.
"Oh, boss, can I get a day off tomorrow?" Jingzhe requested. "I have so private business to take care of. I will be back in the evening."
"Okay." She touched his head one last ti. "Good night A Zhe."
He got off the bed quickly and hugged her. "i i, after the divorce, we should move in together. I am miserable hugging a pillow to sleep every night. I want to hug a i i shaped pillow."
"I will think about it." She answered as she patted his back.
"This is not about sex." He blurted out. Jingzhe was worried that her hesitation was because she thought he was pressuring her into becoming intimate. Doubts run through his mind and he regretted having said what on his mind. "Sister, I am sorry. Forget what I said, we don’t have to share a bedroom. It is enough that we live under the sa roof."
He blad himself for being too greedy too quickly. What had happened to all the talks he had given himself on taking it slow?
[It is not enough that you live under the sa roof. You have kept him waiting for ten years and you have been sleeping alone for seven years despite being married.
Task: Just say yes.
Reward: 20,000 points.]
When i i heard the system intervening, she sighed. The great news was that she was going to make back all of the points that she had lost and more if she accepted the task. Also, there was no punishnt for failing...
[Failure: Death by choking on a grape seed.]
i i burst into laughter imdiately, and this confused Jingzhe.
"I am not laughing at you A Zhe, I am going to agree to your request but on a part ti basis. Anyway, I already agreed to your reservation so we will start dating officially after the divorce."
After saying this, she left the room and Jingzhe was left in a daze. He really did not expect her to say yes to his proposal.
i i closed the door behind her bedroom and she laughed even more.
"System, death by choking on a grape seed. You realize that I can simply not eat grapes for the rest of my life."
C4 scoffed. "Who says that you can escape my death like that? I can simply hide the grape seed in anything else that you are eating. I never said that you have to eat grape to choke on a grape seed."
i i shook her head. As she changed into a nightdress, she wondered how the system could be so clever and twist the rules. It seed she would have to be more careful in future when it ca to the death threats. None could be undermined or she would truly end up dead without knowing how.
