256: Chapter 131 Cleaning the Battlefield_2 256: Chapter 131 Cleaning the Battlefield_2 The dazzling magic seed much more reliable than the crude thods typically used by military dics.

“Thank you.” Kovis steadied himself with help but fatigue made his eyelids battle incessantly.

The young man, already depleted of magic power from battle, had overdrawn the magic elent within his body.

“Leave it to .” Leon ca over, took over supporting the Duwana warrior, helped his partner remove the blood-stained outer robe, and assisted the staggering young man away from the surgery tent.

The most critical patients had received the best possible care.

For those with minor injuries, the other warriors knew the disinfection and bandaging procedures he had often stressed, so it was not necessary for Kovis to treat each individual personally.

“You’ve worked hard, go and rest now.” Leon saw Kovis could barely stand and quickly called a soldier to bring the warhorse.

“Mmm…

Thank you, my lord….

I can’t stand it anymore…

I need to sleep first…”

The young man swayed, leaned against Leon, and closed his eyes in relief.

Looking down at his reliable partner who had finally succumbed and was fast asleep standing up, Leon felt grateful and patted his little brother’s shoulder.

In today’s battle, Kovis’s contributions were monuntal; his role wasn’t rely as a standard-bearer.

Without his supply of magic power today, summoning the potent Ancient Fla Sun Guard to break through the formation alone would have been impossible, and he himself wouldn’t have been able to maintain a frenzied state to fight that powerful Wolf Family knight, Canis.

It would have been impossible for him and Olivia alone to force a breakthrough through so many heavy cavalry and three Knights of Valor to capture an enemy single-handedly.

Truth be told, considering using Galron as the trump card in a crisis had a large elent of gambling.

Leon knew that the spirit incarnated from the Ancient Guard should be strong, but he wasn’t sure just how strong.

He had only gambled on the possibility that the ancient mories from the summoning might suffice.

After all, the spirit incarnate of the ancient wandering soul couldn’t die again.

If defeated by heavy cavalry and the spiritual body was shattered, it would simply result in the soul returning, so sending it to face the formidable enemies didn’t make Leon feel guilty.

Of course, it now appeared they had severely underestimated the strength of the Ancient Mage Guard.

If not for the fact that the magic power from himself and Kovis together could only sustain it for a few seconds, had there been enough ti, that ancestor from the Farolis Family a thousand years ago could have single-handedly breached the Wolf Domain’s army line with his martial skills and his formidable armor and weapon.

Tsk tsk, terrifying indeed, terrifying indeed…

Fortunately, when he first encountered it turned into a living corpse in the forest, there was no malice, otherwise…

…Mounting his warhorse, Leon shepherded the drowsy young man all the way back to the camp.

He discovered that during the ti he helped Kovis rescue the injured, a large group of Farolis’s red-robed soldiers had surprisingly appeared in Longka.

Reinforcents?

He hurriedly spurred his horse to the village community’s main house, helped the young man down, and briskly walked into the open first-floor hall.

At the large table where discussions took place, he saw the sowhat familiar face of Sir Marcello who was stationed at Wacht Castle, along with an officer from the supply camp site he had seen before, Sir Redo, who was talking with them.

“I am ashad, Mr.

Leon, I led the troops at full speed as soon as I got the news, but I still couldn’t make it in ti for the battle,” Marcello said, bowing in apology.

“There’s no need to bla yourself, you brought infantry, and they arrived quickly enough.”

Leon shook his head, asked everyone to wait, then went upstairs first to carry the exhausted Kovis back to his room to rest.

After shifting the Little Griffin occupying the bed to one side and laying down the young man, Leon caressed the curious Little Griffin peering at him a few tis before leaving.

“Listen, stay quiet, don’t disturb your nanny-dad’s rest, got it?”

After jokingly giving these instructions to the chubby chick, Leon opened the window to air out the room, then turned and went downstairs to et the reinforcents that had arrived from the directions of Wacht and Selva.

Sir Marcello and the officer from the supply camp each led two squads of Farolis soldiers to provide support, totaling four squads with altogether two hundred elite infantryn.

They had arrived in Longka almost imdiately after the Wolf Domain Army’s defeat, as the Longka defenders began to clear the battlefield.

Listening to the mont when the reinforcents arrived, Leon ntally retraced, replaying the just-concluded battle.

Today’s battle, if the Wolf Family knight nad Canis had stubbornly refused to surrender and he had been forced to kill him, even if his side’s battle line had collapsed, or even if after killing Canis he was surrounded and killed by revengeful Wolf Domain cavalry, the battle would still have been viable.

Even considering the militia from the northern bank, the weakened central formation of the Wolf Domain couldn’t necessarily defeat the elite troops led by Sir Marcello.

The situation on the Farolis side turned out to be much better than he had anticipated during the fight.

Of course, had the battle continued in that way, the losses for Selva, Longka, and Platon would have been too devastating.

From a rough estimate during the battlefield’s dical search, excluding the injured, about a fifth had died in battle, and counting the injured, the defenders suffered casualties of thirty to forty percent.

If they had continued fighting, even if Farolis had eventually won with the reinforcents’ arrival, those three territories would have undoubtedly been devastated.

“…You truly live up to the title of Square Banner bestowed by Lord Eriv, managing to capture the Gunnar Family’s Young Master on the battlefield.

Now, I believe those rabid dogs won’t dare to raid the Thorny Flower Territory again for a while.
