Finally, it’s finished, truly not easy, looking at the word count of 4 million, it’s absolutely overwhelming. Almost two years, what a killer, my back really hurts....
Frankly speaking, I’m not very satisfied with this novel. Initially, it was conceived as an erotica piece, completely just a way for to vent my feelings. However, I unintentionally showed it to the editor, who saw so potential, and since I didn’t tell him about this aspect, it got signed and published. That caused a problem, the outline was relatively simple, and the preparation wasn’t very ticulous, feeling a bit rushed.
The good thing about this is that there’s a lot of room for improvisation with the details, as long as it can be wrapped up nicely, it’s fine. The downside is... once you beco easily influenced, uncontrollable details might erge. Yes, that’s right, the biggest problem with this book, and the most frustrating for , is too many won involved.
Getting into bed with influential people for opportunities is quite common in the entertainnt industry, even more of a common practice in Hollywood, it’s sothing that’s commonplace and not worth ntioning. But to always remain as a plaything by soone’s side isn’t so typical. Here, I’m not talking about independent spirit or non-independent spirit anymore. The so-called independence and self-reliance that Aricans talk about is just lip service. If there’s a chance for better and greater opportunities, such won absolutely aren’t lacking. It’s just that there’s no character like Adrian in reality - soone who can charm people, has great power, directs films, and wins awards crazily.
But there’s still a limit, having one, two, three or four, even five or six is still doable, but more than ten or even dozens (soone counted, the collection reached 50, cough).... Even Adrian finds it nearly impossible, since most belong to transactions - unless using those photos or videos from the collection room as threats, haha.
Thus, I’ve always said, if I had stuck to the original design of three wives and four concubines plus countless casual encounters, or the pattern of one wife, three or four lovers, and a lot of casual encounters, maybe the story could have been more compact, the characters more vivid, without ending up troubled by the personalities of many characters later on, and irritated by the constantly repeated scenarios.
Of course, I’m not blaming those friends who encouraged to add more won, this is my problem, I couldn’t balance between listening to readers’ opinions and not listening to them.
However, such a number of won affected the authenticity of the novel to an extent, but if these are set aside, there’s still sothing I’m proud of with this book. It’s that I used a theory that’s close to reality, yet sowhat ambiguous, to explain the workings of Hollywood, like production, public relations, capabilities, and the forces among dia, etc.
I don’t dare say what I wrote is perfect, or very close to reality, actually, many things are supplented by my imagination, so when I encounter found data and my imagined parts not aligning, don’t ntion how conflicted it gets. But my logic is basically self-consistent, even if fragile, yet indeed self-consistent, even the loyalty of Adrian’s many won buried the major plot device in the collection room.
So, at least in terms of Arican entertainnt on Qidian, this ’King of Hollywood’ is relatively closest to reality; I’m sowhat proud of this.
I know so friends might bring up the work of a classmate from the University of Southern California, I also admit that as an overseas student in the United States, his understanding of Arican society definitely surpasses that of soone like who has only visited the US briefly. However... well, I heard from a friend that he wants to create a the, which is gazing at Heaven from Hell. Honestly, this the is pretty good, if possible, I’d like to try it too, after all, positive energy is what we should advocate for.
But the problem is, if one can’t even depict Hell, how can one gaze at Heaven?
I’m not trying to criticize that University of Southern California classmate, but he does seem a bit too naive, given that he’s still a college student. And, regarding Arica, although I only had a brief glimpse, if a hobody went there and had a decent economic foundation, staying indoors could indeed be very enjoyable.
Although this classmate has also worked in a music studio (he studies music), participated in so activities, and has friends who interned at film companies, he’s still lacking in experience. Furthermore... after looking at so of his works, not only novels but also so articles, like gossip items from Tianya about the music scene, it seems he’s been assimilated by lots of naive Aricans.
This is indeed a very regrettable situation. If possible, I really hope to see a story that matches his the, not full of falsehoods.
Alright, enough about this, the book is completely finished now, Adrian’s story is concluded, this world is complete. As for the next book... let’s talk after I’ve rested enough; sitting in front of the computer for two years or even longer, frequently staying up late, various issues have erged, and moving a bit feels like my whole body has rusted, so for now let’s not get presumptuous.
Besides, finally wrapping it up, I should write more unexpurgated and even darker versions to reward my fully subscribed friends, it’s been too long since the unexpurgated version got updated, cough.
Despite the diocre success of this book and many twists and turns midway, not to ntion the lawyer’s letters from so company, what’s absurd is encountering a weirdo in the group chat.
That really is a weirdo, although this book is about Arican entertainnt, although my friends and I frequently critique so societal issues in the group chat, fundantally, we still hope for our country to improve, and our own lives to get better. Yet, there’s this weirdo, don’t know when he joined the group, once forgot what we were discussing, this guy openly proclaid he’s now longing for the master’s landing.
And he insisted he’s absolutely not joking, even when friends told him that even if the master landed, people like him would still be cannon fodder, but he totally didn’t care, claiming that as long as the master landed, he’d have an opportunity to gamble one. My goodness, although I had heard about the ’guiding party,’ seeing such a lively ’guiding party’ was a first. What’s that phrase? There’s a solitary guiding party here, we should try capturing it, one guiding party can provide us several days of energy....
Alright, not making jokes, ultimately we didn’t agree on anything, so we had to let him go. And then, half an hour later, this guy went to report on Qidian, even used stolen content to do so, threatening that if Qidian didn’t deal with it, he’d call to report it. Oh my, seems that fragile glass heart was seriously hurt, yet nowhere near the force of the lawyer’s letters.
Actually, at that ti, I hoped he’d succeed; if the book got banned, I could write in the group, write whatever I want, and not always be caught up in various considerations, haha.
Alright alright, not joking, no matter how bizarre that guy was, it’s unrelated to us, the book has been smoothly completed, and now I can completely relax.
Of course, the usual routine, thank the several editors before and after, even when I said nothing, still occasionally helped obtain recomndations, managed and guided during the lawyer’s letters incident, it’s thanks to their care that the book could be completed.
Then, to my readers, the first alliance hierarch, Old Widow, the second alliance hierarch, Chasing Wind, those who helped find information and offer tily assistance, Dark Tide and Judgent, those who provided financial consultations, ZZ and Carefree, those offering overseas news, SIN and ACE, and much more, I can’t na them all, but what I want to say is, thank you for your support.
Thanks for comforting when I’m frustrated, thanks for tirelessly helping gather data, thanks for aiding in plot analysis and providing jokes, thanks for your material and spiritual support, thank you very much!
To all the silent majority of friends, I also want to say thank you, without your silent support, I wouldn’t have persisted until now, thank you for your subscriptions, thank you for your enjoynt, a deep bow, thank you all! Goodbye! (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, feel free to vote for recomndations and monthly tickets on Qidian (qidian), your support is my greatest motivation.)
