I think the young lady must still be with the Elf Clan."
Xuan Ye pondered for a mont, then said, "How co the young lady has so many friends now, and who are these people? Why didn’t Yan Fei of the Pu Yan Clan tell about this?"
Ying Yi replied, "Among those people, two are warriors of the Pu Yan Clan, and they have not co out. The four who ca out are mbers of a small rcenary Corps. They were originally planning to go to the Death Mountain Range with the young lady, but for so reason, they changed their minds and left."
Xuan Ye nodded and said, "Let’s go, we’re entering the Elf Forest." He had a vague feeling that his daughter was not within the Elf Forest, as he could not sense her presence.
Under Ying Yi’s lead, Xuan Ye and his party walked towards the depths of the Elf Forest. The silent and elegant environnt of the forest made Xuan Ye deeply admire it, but he was not in the mood to enjoy the scenery as he was eager to find his daughter. If Xuan Yue had entered the Death Mountain Range, even he would have no assurance of rescuing them.
"Your Excellency, the Bishop, this is the place. Beyond here, it’s like entering a labyrinth; it’s impossible to go any deeper," Ying Yi stopped after several hours of travel and explained the situation to Xuan Ye.
Xuan Ye nodded and said, "This must be a Magic Array set up by the Elf Clan. Everyone step back; I will try to see if I can break through the barrier of the Magic Array."
Upon hearing Xuan Ye’s orders, all the priests and the Silver Armored Judges retreated tens of ters away, for in their hearts, the Red Bishop was almost akin to a divine being.
Xuan Ye closed his eyes and used his spiritual power to probe the Magic Array inside the Elf Forest. As soon as he delved a little deeper, he encountered a strong energy fluctuation repelling his spiritual power. The structure of the Magic Array was extrely complex; even after half a day, he tried several tis but couldn’t find a way through. Xuan Ye grew sowhat impatient. Opening his eyes, he waved his hands in the air and a white hexagram radiating a holy aura floated in front of him. Xuan Ye kept drawing one symbol after another in the void and inserting them into the hexagram. The divine light grew brighter and brighter. Although he couldn’t decipher the Magic Array, he could confront it with sheer strength. Being in a high position for many years had bred a sense of arrogance in him; in his heart, there was nothing on this continent that could stop him.
"Great God of the Heavenly Realm, I, your faithful follower, sincerely beg you to lend your endless Divine Power to dispel the mist before my eyes, and let the world be filled with light once again. Light up the earth and sky." This was a seventh-level Light Magic spell, and when used by Xuan Ye, its power was great enough to level a small mountain. As the incantation ended, the white hexagram’s light suddenly converged. Xuan Ye struck a pose as if holding up heaven with both hands, and with a loud shout, a beam of light three ters in diater burst forth towards the depths of the Elf Forest.
Suddenly, a green barrier rose in the depths of the Elf Forest and collided with the white light emitted by Xuan Ye. Amidst a loud rumble, the green barrier rippled, but it still withstood Xuan Ye’s attack. Xuan Ye was greatly surprised, and he spurred the Divine Power within him, connecting with the Magic Elents between heaven and earth, transforming them into Holy Power. The brightness continued intensifying; the green screen conjured from the Elf Forest trembled even more violently, as if it might shatter at any mont.
When Xuan Ye’s Light up the Earth and Sky first struck the barrier of the Elf Forest, the Elf Queen already knew about it. The entire Elf City shook under Xuan Ye’s assault.
The Elf Queen was greatly alard; she imdiately summoned the four leading Elf Envoys, all of them wearing serious expressions. It was known that the protective Magic Array of the Elf Clan was constructed over generations by the energy accumulated by successive Elf Kings. The fact that soone could shake the Magic Array head-on evidenced the intruder’s profound strength.
The Elf Queen said, "It seems we have an invader. The power of this Mage seems to surpass even mine. Go to the site imdiately; I will hold them off here. Do not engage rashly; you must ascertain the identity of the other party. If they indeed are enemies, I permit you to act."
