Xuan Ye’s heart stirred, awakening from his anger as he recalled Yue Yue’s words. Yue Yue had said that Ah Dai was the Savior. Could he truly harm him? Regardless of whether Ah Dai was the actual Savior or not, without clarity on the matter, his father would never allow him to touch Ah Dai. It had been over half a year since Yue Yue entered into secluded cultivation. Although his father never ntioned Yue Yue’s progress, the excitent beaming from his face during their few encounters suggested that Yue Yue’s advancent must be swift. The Pope focused all his attention on Yue Yue. If he dealt with Ah Dai now, his father would surely be enraged. A flash of insight suddenly reminded Xuan Ye of the ti his father had ordered four Holy Judges to monitor Ah Dai. His eyes glead as he said, "Father-in-law, let’s put this matter on hold for the mont. Please use our influence in Dark City to stabilize the public’s sentint first. I will make a trip to the Court of Justice."
Na Yan expressed her surprise, "What? You’re going to see Xuan Yuan? Don’t you know his temperant?"
Xuan Ye forced a smile, "How could I not know? Aside from my father, he pays no regard to anyone else’s face. But, after all, he is my uncle, and I am acting on behalf of the Holy Church, so there shouldn’t be any problems." The Holy Judges would only report to the Pope and Judgnt Chief, and since the Pope was currently supervising Xuan Yue’s cultivation and was nowhere to be found, Xuan Ye had no choice but to seek out the Judgnt Chief.
Xuan Yuan was the Judgnt Chief of the Holy Church Court of Judgent, the Pope’s own brother. He had vanished at the age of three and did not return to the church until he was well into his forties. With his extraordinary abilities, he took over the position of Judgnt Chief. Xuan Ye would rather confront the most evil of foes than face his own uncle. Xuan Yuan was extrely reclusive; unless there was a major event, he seldom left the church and no one dared to approach him. The general affairs of the Court of Justice were handled by two Deputy Judges while he would silently cultivate alone in his chamber, seeing no one but the Pope. Within the church, although nominally his rank was on par with that of the Red Robe Priests, Xuan Ye knew all too well that his uncle, now over seventy, possessed martial skills second only to the Sword Saint of the Tian Gang among all the people he had ever encountered, far surpassing the abilities of the four Red Robe Priests. If it weren’t for the fact that this matter involved Ah Dai, who might be the Savior, Xuan Ye would never have wished to et his uncle.
Na Yan chuckled, "Since you’re not afraid of getting snubbed, go ahead then, this matter is yours to handle. I’m getting on in years and should think more about enjoying so peaceful days. By the way, it’s been over half a year since I last saw Yue Yue, is she still in secluded cultivation? The Pope really expects a lot, Yue Yue is just a sixteen-year-old child, what if she gets overexerted?" He had always adored his granddaughter the most. When his own daughter was young, he was overly strict with Xinasa in order for her to secure a position within the Holy Church. As for his granddaughter, Na Yan lavished all his affections upon her, often making Xinasa jealous of her own daughter.
Sighing, Xuan Ye shared the sentint; he missed his daughter too. Xinasa had ntioned several tis that she wanted to see her daughter, but how could he bring himself to ask his father? "Father keeps Yue Yue’s matters very secretive; even I don’t know the specifics. It seems we just have to wait. Father-in-law, please rest for now, I’ll go find my uncle right away." Having said that, he bowed to Na Yan and left the Sanctum of Light.
Leaving the Sanctum of Light, Xuan Ye headed alone to the northeast toward the Court of Justice, which was adjacent to several large halls of the church, housing thousands of Judges.
"Ah! Isn’t this the esteed Red Bishop? What brings you here?" A clear voice rang out.
Xuan Ye focused his gaze and saw that it was Ballon, one of the two Deputy Judges of the Court of Justice, known as the Blade God. Ballon, being of similar age to Xuan Ye, was the son of the previous Judgnt Chief. The two had grown up together and were very close. Standing around one ter seventy, he had an unremarkable appearance but possessed extraordinary martial prowess. Skilled with a sacred short blade, Ballon achieved the position of Deputy Judge at the age of thirty-seven due to his own capabilities, making him the pri candidate to succeed as the next Judgnt Chief.
Xuan Ye approached his old friend with a smile, "What, old Ballon, aren’t you happy to see ?"
Ballon laughed heartily, looking at his dear friend, "How could I not be happy? Ever since you beca a Red Bishop, we hardly spend any ti together. We should go have a drink when you’re free."
Xuan Ye responded, "Afraid of you? You’ve been quite busy too ever since you beca the Deputy Judge, busy enough that to this day, you can’t find leisure ti."
Ballon spread his hands helplessly, "What can I do? There’s too much to handle, and our Judgnt Chief doesn’t bother with it, so Uncle Wind and I have to work extra hard."
Xuan Ye smiled, "Let’s go, lead to where my uncle is in ditation. I have sothing to discuss with the old man."
Ballon frowned slightly, "Brother, not to discourage you, but even though you are the Judgnt Chief’s nephew, he might not necessarily agree to see you. Looking to get rebuffed?"
Xuan Ye smiled bitterly, "If it weren’t for a very important matter, do you really think I’d willingly look for my uncle? Am I not aware of his temperant? Let’s go, I’ve got to bite the bullet and face him!"
Ballon laughed loudly, "Since you’re not afraid, I’ll take you there. I’m quite curious to see you get disappointed."
