Capitol Base, an hour prior.

"Welco back, sir!" A group of soldiers saluted as the military jeep eased to a halt, and the multitude of jeepneys behind similarly stopped right after.

Soon, the handso figure of Major Murong erged from the leading vehicle.

Despite his slightly weary look, Kylo was still as dashing as always. His steps still oozed of confidence and sternness, his wide shoulders implying reliability.

The people in the car also went down, starting from the soldiers to the citizens, all of varying injuries and states of mind.

As the soldiers went through the gates, trailing after them were the few scores of survivors rescued from the waves. So were the remnants of the zombie wave that had attacked the area, while so were the last survivors left from Soldier town.

He nodded at his soldiers and dismissed the group, passing on the registration and checking of the new refugees to others.

Not showing any more of his tiredness to his soldiers, Kylo strode to his own abode not too far from the base center.

It was a simple and plain room with no decoration whatsoever, very characteristic of his image outside.

He cleaned himself up a bit with so of the water cleaned by the house’s filtration systems. He changed to so casual clothes before he finally heaved a sigh before heading to his bedroom.

In the privacy of his room, he finally relaxed and went to bed, turning off the tered lights. He opened his phone charged by solar power.

In the dimly lit room, the handso ebony-haired man sat down comfortably on his bed, his piercing blue eyes focused on the screen.

His face was as stoic as always, but his pupils were dilated and his lips ever so slightly tilting upwards.

"This will be my last stream…" a beautiful voice sounded across the room, its source coming from his phone.

The video showed an incredibly beautiful woman with unique silver hair cascading like a waterfall of silk down her shoulders.

Its light color reflected the sunlight of the large window next to her, and her eyes were as bright as the saturated blue sky that they could rarely see now.

Her skin was impeccable and smooth, like touching it would leave a mark, making one both reluctant and long for its touch.

She looked inhuman, a goddess.

This was her last video. She spoke of her donations, and there were plenty of comnts saying she was just showing off her wealth.

But Kylo knew otherwise. She must have known what was coming, and prepared the country the best she could.

More than her beauty, this was what had gripped his heart the tightest.

Not to ntion, he was one of the people who were saved by her movent.

He didn’t know if he’d have survived that attack, but he definitely would’ve lost his team.

Kylo was not wrong. In the book, he was destined not to die in that zombie mob. However he alone would’ve survived and it would haunt for the rest of his short life.

In fact, watching her videos, without him noticing, had beco his habit at night.

He had developed the habit to listen to that sound—her voice—for him to even be able to sleep after experiencing this nightmare.

Her voice lulled his tense body to relax, helping him forget one of his most horrendous experiences even after years of being a soldier.

Her voice was still lodious and calming as he rembered. Kylo hung on to her every word, and it was like her voice was a soothing lody that lted his heart.

His face smiled a bit as he rembered how this started.

The way he found her video was purely a coincidence. Before the explosion of the apocalypse, he had caught his soldiers grouping together. It was their break ti so he didn’t bother, until he heard her familiar voice.

He did not ask them for her details, but his sharp eyes and reasoning managed to find her still. And he downloaded and watched each of her videos countless tis.

He could even tell she had a lover.

This gripped his heart, but he knew it wasn’t the ti to dwell on it. He was a soldier first and foremost, after all.

Not to ntion, he was far from civilization and was doing dangerous missions so he could not even look for her in person.

At the ti, he had told himself it was to check up on her wound and the old man, of course, simply because he didn’t know why he would go so far just to see another person who didn’t have anything to do with a mission.

He had saved her videos in his phone, twice, letting it lull him into sleep whenever he was alone.

It was both lovely… and extrely lonely.

Of course, he had not given up on looking for her even at this mont. In fact, he had set a notification alerting him should soone of the description fit ca to the base or were seen during rescue missions outside.

Anyway, it was a well-known piece of trivia that his entire team was saved by her steel container. It could be said to be paying back her grace.

"That’s all I can say for now. Thank you for watching, and stay safe everyone."

At this ti, just when he was about to fall asleep, an urgent knock disturbed him from his rest.

"Major!" One of his teammates yelled, saluting. He stared for him to continue speaking. The soldier pulled soone to his direction.

"He has news about the woman you’ve been looking for, sir!"

His eyes brightened and he stepped forward, face uncharacteristically eager.

A soldier told him there was a match for the person he was looking for.

The soldier made a salute as he reported. "A woman with silver hair and blue eyes has been spotted to have entered early this morning, sir!"

"Early this morning?" Kylo frowned, voice rising. "Why am I only finding out now?"

The two soldiers flinched, afraid, and the reporting soldier proceeded on telling him why he was late in letting him know of her presence.

"P-Professor Thomas ordered us to stop reporting, sir!"

"What? HOW DARE HE—" but the soldier continued his report. "And…Professor Thomas took her to his room, sir!"

The next mont, the soldiers were pushed away as Kylo bolted to the direction of the professor’s abode.

And he looked absolutely livid.

Prance! That bastard!

That man, since he was the only weapons expert they had, obtained a relatively high status in the territory. He had always felt he was creating his own force, aiming to usurp him.

Of course, he had managed to keep it at bay, hence the current reports.

Kylo sneered. It seed he had been too lenient!

Veins almost popped as he imagined what that bastard could be doing to her.

"Major!" A few soldiers greeted as they saw him darting past them. Confused, they imdiately went to follow.

What could have gotten their usually-stoic leader to look so flustered?

Minutes later, they arrived at Prance’s residence.

"STOP!"

He was stopped by a handful of rcenaries guarding the house. To his surprise, there were even one or two soldiers in there.

"Do you know what you are doing?" He asked, his strict upbringing was the only thing keeping himself from just attacking them without another word.

The rcenary looked at him without a gun, raising his own. Prance promised them that they would lead this base soon. That they had plenty of people ’inside’.

But how could Kylo even bother with these people?

Soon, his own soldiers arrived behind him, pointing the guns at the people blocking his way.

With a swift movent, he took out the gun hidden at the back of his pants, quickly shooting the hands of those with guns.

"AHHH!"

Kylo looked at the soldiers behind him. "Handle them all." He said, basically running towards the door, praying that the girl was unhard.

Without further ado, he strode to his door and forcefully opened it. He saw Prance standing there and the girl in a very uncomfortable position.

His eyes beca redder and his body moved automatically—he stepped forward to the two, kicking away the professor.

His kick was so strong that a single hit made the old man lose consciousness.

He worriedly turned to the woman and froze in shock, eyes dilating and his body flushed.

Her arms were hanging on the ceiling, half of her breast threatening to get exposed by her flimsy clothing. Her tiptoed feet made her already-short hem rise higher, showing more of her shapely legs.

The very sight made his brain hot. If he didn’t have such control over his body, he may already have a nosebleed.

He gulped at the sight of her as an unfamiliar pool of heat on his lower body threatened to explode.

But he was quick to gather himself when he saw her uncomfortable with her position. A little shaky, he quickly undid the ropes and she imdiately fell into his arms.

His brain went blank as he felt her soft supple body in his arms, but he quickly covered her up with his jacket. He turned and glared at the ogling soldiers behind him.

"Are you not capturing the criminal?!" He yelled and the soldiers were pulled back to reality, and they quickly went to Prance to capture him.

Returning his attention back to the woman, Kylo’s breath was heavy as he lifted her up to get her treated (all he saw was that small line of blood on her collar).

"You’re here." She said, gentle lodious voice hitting the n’s hearts. "I’m glad."

Kylo had never felt so good. Even getting promoted had never made him feel so accomplished.

"Uhnn."

But his stoic face showed nothing, though Khalifa could see his ears turning a little red.

She giggled. Very cute.
