’I really hope the mana is enough for this.’ I thought as I looked at the black haired from the branch I was standing on.

Reinhard was currently locked in an intense battle with a full unit of infantry who were geared from their head to toes with slitted helts.

And they ca from every direction. All aiming their weapons at an unard Reinhard, who was completely dependant on his elent to fight them.

But man, was his fighting style fabulous!

His arms carried strength capable of denting several armors with a single punch. His movents were so fluid and fast that my eyes couldn’t even keep track of them.

"So this is the power of a Third Order..." I whispered under my breath, completely awestruck. Arlott had previously said so when Reinhard was undergoing his first subdivision of the test.

But with all that said...

He didn’t look to be in the best fit either. For every one soldier that fell, four others took it’s place.

It was an unending wave.

However fortunately, I had so plans to perfectly trap them long enough and have Reinhard kill them all.

And I was sure his Earth elent would be crucial in ending the mud sponges.

But before I could leap into the battlefield, a loud thunderclap rang across the skies. In fact, it was so loud that I felt my ears ring for few seconds before I could hear again.

Then ca a sweet, sultry voice.

"Candidates Henry Mordant and Reinhard~"

My head snapped up to the skies from where the sound had co.

I saw nobody up there but still the voice continued, "You might have co here. But do you even know the rules of the ga?"

Down below I saw Reinhard spotting among the branches. I nodded but he ignored it and focused back on the unknown voice.

"There weren’t any rules to this. Was there any?"

"Sily~ of course there was." I felt myself drawn to the voice. It was strangely hypnotic.

"The rule is simple. Whoever gets the maximum number of kills gets the higher marks in this test. Of course, they also take in account the way you showcase your skills."

I slowly turned my head to Reinhard and seeing the greedy glint in his eyes, my worst fears ca true.

’He is going to take all the kills for himself now...Her words also ca at the exact mont when I was about to initiate a teamfight. Shit, did she do that intentionally?!’

But more importantly...

Who is she?

And fortunately for , Reinhard wasn’t that dumb. He took asked, "Who are you? I won’t take advice from any random stranger."

"The audacity haha. I am the ssenger, the guardian of these lands. Hear my words or ignore them, that’s not sothing I need to bother myself with. My work was to transmit this ssage, which I have already done. The decision now lies in your hands."

Saying those words, her presence disappeared. And I could see her words having an imdiate effect on Reinhard as he charged at the infantry with renewed vigor.

But vigor isn’t enough to deal with such an uncountable infantry.

I bit my lips as I contemplated whether or not to help him. On one hand I knew I needed to help since that was actually the main goal. Teamwork was the main thing required, regardless of the so called ssenger’s provocative words.

Because that’s what Principal told us to do. I was almost certain that this lady was a scam, ant to disrupt our decision-making.

On the other other hand, I was completely sure that Reinhard would see my interruption as an attempt at "stealing" away his kills.

I looked behind as a stiff smile sared across my face.

’Why am I acting as if I even have a choice?’ I asked myself internally as I looked at the approaching army of the mud sponges from the other end. They too would be here in few minutes.

Coming to my decision, I leapt down and dashed straight towards the infantry.

Seeing approach, Reinhard bellowed from a distance, "Don’t you dare kill them!! All these kills are mine!"

I ignored his words and quickly dodged the halberd that missed my face by just few inches. I rolled on the ground and sumrsaulted close to Reinhard.

Jumping behind his shoulder, I released a wave of freezing mist over a large area.

Every soldier in that radius suddenly found their vision blocked as the slits of their helts were covered by a thin but durable layer of ice.

Neither could they open their helts as more bursts of ice had frozen up the straps of their gear.

And thus they stumbled as they were trapped in their own armours, fumbling around with their tallic and thick gloves.

At first, Reinhard looked ready to attack as I did the stunt. He lifted up by my collar and shouted, "Didn’t I tell you to stay away from my kills??"

I stayed silent.

And only stared at the frozen group behind him.

Seeing my lack of response and my focused eyes, he looked behind him. Realising what I had done, he roughly dropped on the ground and dashed toward the frozen soldiers.

And with just a few series of punches and jabs, he killed each and every one of them.

Rising up from the ground, I turned my attention to the others who were starting to surround us.

Understanding my intention, Reinhard quickly ca and stood beside .

I raised my hand and this ti, slamd on the ground. Ice spread all over the ground.

And instantly froze most of the boots of the soldiers. The few who had jumped at the crucial mont to dodge my attack, ended up slipping on the polished ice as a result.

They were wearing tal boots with smooth sole for better movents on forest floors. No way would it help them move on an icy layer.

And I could tell this was sothing Principal Cormac had kept in mind while making this test.
