Chapter 2090: Chapter 2090: Speculations About Dr. Wu
"It’s said that the ti in our cognitive space is different; the ti here is like a ’straight line,’ whereas in so spaces, it’s a ’curve,’" Xu Huo said.
At that ti, he had seen that "curve ti," a tangible presence before his eyes, but ultimately, "curve ti" lacked a concrete concept; even if it might manifest in so form, no one could understand it.
Nevertheless, those who’ve heard of it treat it as a basis for fantasies about ti travel.
But Xu Huo, having experienced temporal evolution, increasingly believed that ti was not traversable. Even if players shuttle between wormhole points with varying ti flows, even if just a few days have passed in their own section while the instance section has passed months or even longer, ti’s transformation on a player remains unchanged, and returning to their section seems like going back to the past, but it’s actually moving forward with relatively slowed ti.
Xu Huo possessed the super prop for ti reversal, "Three Seconds of a Lifeti." He had personally witnessed "curve ti" and speculated that Dr. Wu might be searching for the jump point of curve ti to save his wife and daughter, but "curve ti" still failed to reconcile with his current understanding.
"I don’t understand curve ti," Shen Liang waved his hand, "just heard it from a player who encountered it, and the other party apparently knew it involved Dr. Wu, also said Dr. Wu might have completed the jump of curve ti, thus can use instance mode but avoid the ga, because ti here keeps repeating."
"Ti isn’t repeating," ng Wenguang interjected, "our mories are being erased."
They aren’t in a ti loop; they simply lost mories, mistakenly thinking it’s the first day inside.
"I don’t want to think about it anymore," Shen Liang said, "but since it involves ti force and Dr. Wu, perhaps curve ti truly is needed to solve the problem."
His gaze road over Xu Huo and the others, "Has any of you evolved with ti?"
Instinctively, ng Wenguang and Feng Hui looked at Xu Huo.
"I only hold ti items," Xu Huo said, "besides, expecting a super evolver might be too arbitrary; if ti evolvers were all that’s needed here, ordinary players shouldn’t have been brought in."
"That’s not wrong, but nobody said this is definitely an instance either," Shen Liang leaned against the window, staring at the steaming dishes in the distance, taking a deep breath and said, "instances have patterns; who can be certain here?"
Feng Hui noticed his gaze and asked, "Can those be eaten?"
Shen Liang turned back with an awkward smile, "Have you seen a performance without props? It’s probably like that."
Being so hungry that an advanced player is eyeing fake food greedily, Feng Hui shivered and turned to ask Xu Huo, "Are we supposed to track Dr. Wu into the night?"
"Dr. Wu is basically working, might not even speak much in an hour, and staying here seems pointless."
"Since he ntioned it may involve Dr. Wu, keeping an eye on Dr. Wu is the most convenient thod," Xu Huo looked at the studio door.
Just then, ng Wenguang’s communicator buzzed.
"A ssage from Yue Rui, from half an hour ago. She asked around nearby residents, saying Pumpkin City’s safety has always been good, but recently a sudden surge of ho invasion robbery and murder cases had occurred, and when the first case happened, those who hadn’t seen an official announcent thought it was a rumor. Additionally, Pumpkin City has popularized self-rescue tools, many households are equipped with them, and when soone calls for help or if the caras identify cri, a warning is issued imdiately and patrol officers nearby are automatically contacted."
"These self-rescue tools and the accompanying software are developed by Starlet Company."
Upon entering Pumpkin City from the Ti Tower, the first thing encountered was the frequent announcent about ho invasion robberies, which surely isn’t coincidence, and according to Old Holy Sword Society, Dr. Wu’s wife and daughter likely died due to ho invasion robbery. He repeatedly leaves imagery about his wife and daughter’s deaths, indicating this is the crux.
Pumpkin City’s ti refreshes at 9:17 PM; perhaps the ho invasions occur then.
But even if it occurs at 9:17 PM, it’s a segnt of false imagery. Dr. Wu didn’t create this to let players save a false image, like last ti in Midsumr Night’s River of Stars, where he repeatedly saved personnel tied on the dream in the orbit, regardless of his actions upon boarding or prevention of train operation, he couldn’t stop the final outco, indicating Dr. Wu knows interventions, whether early or varied, struggle to alter fixed results.
Hence, the existence of Pumpkin City might hold only one significance, which is to let players comprehend ti force.
Dr. Wu altruistically places Perfect Potions throughout the ga, even finding so low-level instances, offering new players opportunities, which could suggest he is cultivating players resistant to ga control, regardless of his ultimate goal, it cannot be denied he brings hope to many players. And the guiding imagery seen earlier in Midsumr Night’s River of Stars reflects so of his ideas—he seems to be randomly cultivating players.
Randomly placed Perfect Potions, repeated imagery of wife and daughter’s deaths, preserved ssage fragnts about him, humanity tests arranged in instances... Dr. Wu influences a batch of players in his own manner.
Previously speculated he made a two-hundred-year effort to resurrect his wife and daughter, now it seems like a cover for true motives.
Of course, this is rely Xu Huo’s speculation, but evidently, this locale leaves no retreat for failure for the players. Dr. Wu moves Starlet Company and Hengxing Group’s chairn into the setting, aiming to eliminate all unnecessary threat factors.
aning, without eting Dr. Wu’s expectations, players might never leave here.
Wondering if the "Heart of the Child" can still protect him under such circumstances disconnected from the ga, but Xu Huo hopes to gain so growth from the valuable experiences left by this greatly superior predecessor.
"Following Dr. Wu might not yield more results, let’s find his family’s address through other ans," Xu Huo spoke, "leave one person here, others scatter through the company; if within an hour we can’t find it, try other rival enterprises, surely many want to poach Dr. Wu, perhaps soone knows where his family lives."
He simultaneously inford Wang Ling and Yue Rui, Wang Ling’s response was delayed, though Yue Rui replied swiftly and made good progress, delving into an apartnt building to find an ardent fan of Dr. Wu, retrieving an address from his mouth.
"We’ll head over first; if it turns out to be accurate, you all can follow."
