Chapter 2089: Chapter 2089: Ti Killing
Xu Huo didn’t make things difficult for him, gave him so jerky, and this player was so hungry his eyes were red. He grabbed the jerky and stuffed it into his mouth, barely swallowed a couple of bites before choking and rolling his eyes. While pounding his chest, he reached forward.
Xu Huo then leisurely handed him water, half-squatted in front of him and said, "Haven’t even had a chance to give you water, you’re in such a hurry you’re not afraid of choking to death."
The other didn’t have ti to bicker with him, his eyeballs fixed in Xu Huo’s direction, but his hands and mouth didn’t stop. After gulping down two sips of water, he resud chewing the jerky.
By this ti, ng Wenguang had already taken down another player. ng Wenguang was as skilled in combat as he appeared. With the use of a Defense Prop, he almost had the upper hand in the fight, moving very quickly. Although the other player wasn’t weak, his condition was worse than the one locked up choking. After a few rounds of high-speed combat, he started to fall behind, revealing a weakness, and was subsequently punched to the ground by ng Wenguang.
To avoid drawing attention from Pumpkin City’s residents, he used a rubbler tool to mitigate the impact on the ground—quite considerate indeed.
The player vomited blood from the beating, his gaze turned blank.
ng Wenguang lifted him into the air with one hand, shaking him like a piece of dried at, "Don’t die yet, haven’t questioned you."
The player beside Xu Huo only started paying attention to the situation after he ate and drank enough to revive his spirits, "He was hungry for longer than I was, give him two sips of water and he should wake up."
ng Wenguang took out water from his pocket, rubbed his thumb against the cap to remove it and poured it over the head of the player in his hand.
The player finally returned to rationality from his daze, involuntarily licking at the water dripping down his face. With the water flowing into his throat, he seed noticeably more awake. Realizing his predicant, he glared at ng Wenguang, just about to speak when his body suddenly froze, and within re seconds, transford into a handful of flying ashes from ng Wenguang’s grasp, leaving only shoes, pants and props clattering to the ground.
Feng Hui stared at ng Wenguang in horror, and ng Wenguang himself was startled, already throwing away the clothes in his grasp when the player turned empty!
"What just happened?" ng Wenguang was the first to ask.
The player beside Xu Huo paused before saying, "He was killed by Ti Force."
Compared to Xu Huo and ng Wenguang, who had so understanding of Ti Force, Feng Hui seed a bit panicked, "Isn’t it ti repetition? Why would ti kill you?"
"It seems players on the field are periodically cleared," Xu Huo said, "Where we entered showed quite a few battle marks, of varying age. Logically, this instance has been consuming people near Zone 011 for quite a while. The players who don’t leave are bound to starve to death, at least their bones should be preserved."
"But the places we walked through were clean without any human bones," ng Wenguang glanced again at the dust-like pile not far away; as a breeze passed, it seed almost invisible.
"Doesn’t this an there’s always a possibility we’ll die?" Feng Hui couldn’t help but glance at the player, "How did you survive?"
The man, now a bit haggard from hunger, stood up solemnly, "Based on my experience... all up to luck."
Feng Hui’s facial muscles trembled uncontrollably, "What did you say?"
"He’s saying there’s no pattern at all," ng Wenguang answered in place of the man, "Unless you’re a Ti-Directed Super Evolver, who can predict the changes in Ti Force, especially since this place itself is more complex."
The man nodded, "Although luck plays a large part, from the people I’ve t, issues shouldn’t arise before food runs out."
Upon hearing this, not only Feng Hui and ng Wenguang, even Xu Huo breathed a sigh of relief. He was more worried that this space had beco chaotic beyond order.
"Speaking of which, have you gained anything from being here this long?" Xu Huo asked.
"Everything resets after 9 o’clock," the man glanced around at everything, unconsciously reaching out to touch the flowers in the nearby flower shop. "This is actually my first ti seeing this brand new world."
After hearing this, Xu Huo and the others finally understood. He and the player who died had been wandering the abandoned city for who knows how many days. Initially, they didn’t realize they were caught in a cycle until they saw food and water visibly diminish, which prompted them to start recording and search the city.
During this ti, the man also encountered so players. By combining others’ and his own records, he gradually figured out a pattern that his ti reset every day at 9:17 PM. Later on, due to food issues, players who initially gathered began to disperse and hide in the fog. He didn’t know who left or who died, but he personally saw players being directly weathered by Ti Force twice, realizing that staying here long-term, starvation isn’t the only option.
"Didn’t anyone find the Ti Tower?" Feng Hui was incredulous.
"What Ti Tower?" The man seed puzzled but quickly caught on, "Did you find a Ti Tower, causing changes in the city?"
No one answered his question. Xu Huo asked, "Why did you co to the Starlet Company?"
"We were both so hungry we were dizzy. Found out the boss of Starlet Company looks a lot like Hengxing Group’s chairman, so we ca to try our luck," the man said. "If we couldn’t escape, one of us would have to beco food."
This was actually a problem they had always overlooked. Food is always limited, once they’ve consud everything and can’t get out, players themselves could beco a kind of food. However, now Ti Force solved this issue for them—before starving or being turned into food, they might be dealt with by the instance.
"Do you have any clues for getting out?" The man now carried a hint of hope as he asked.
"Aren’t we looking into it?" Xu Huo raised an eyebrow, "You can help too. Do you have new recorders?"
"A few old ones, all have records saved," the man took out a bag of them, "all picked up."
Xu Huo and the others fell silent. Given the abandoned city’s foggy environnt, he could gather so many recorders, he must have toured the whole city.
The group returned to Starlet Company. While monitoring "Dr. Wu," Xu Huo asked the new partner Shen Liang so questions about the city’s terrain, confirming the abandoned city was indeed Pumpkin City. As for the rather odd city structure, Shen Liang instead offered a unique perspective.
"Have you heard of curve ti?"
"Curve ti?" The last ti Xu Huo heard this term was when the Dinsion Train encountered a dinsion storm and was forced to pause on the tracks, spoken by the train’s conductor.
