Capítulo 2029: Chapter 2029: Ti Box
Xu Huo safely returned to Rose Castle, and after presenting generous gifts, the Werna Family and other Nobles did not arrange any monitoring or tracking, as if they treated him and everything that happened tonight as nothing more than a trivial matter.
Mr. Dong helped to carry the gift boxes from the car to the study, and waited for Xu Huo to take a look after washing up.
The blue box was the year-end gift from the Werna Family. Inside this small square box was a certificate of stock ownership from a mining company as well as a specially customized badge from the Werna Family.
The certificate guarantees that Xu Huo receives a substantial amount of White Notes from the company every quarter or even every month, while the badge serves as identity verification, allowing him to freely enter and exit the company. According to Roy, this is considered a “lucky” gift package.
The mining company under Werna is quite profitable, even a small share allows a Noble family to live comfortably for a lifeti.
“So generous.” Xu Huo put the items aside and opened the black box.
Inside the black box was a small model of a house, and when he touched it, the ga panel displayed a prompt:
[Ti Box: This item is specifically created by a Super Player for Temporal Evolution training, and it is an expandable prop for training. The size of the location increases with the user’s exploration. Theoretically, the longer one explores within it, the more Ti Boxes will be generated, and the boxes won’t reset to zero when the prop changes hands, but will continue to increase based on the original number.]
“Ti Box…” Xu Huo picked up the prop. Clearly, this small model is the four-state square yard he accidentally entered last ti. The Werna not only knew he intruded into the yard but also directly gave him this prop.
While being open, they subtly expressed their appreciation for him, also telling him not to hold a grudge about the yard intrusion.
“It seems the Werna Family has extended an olive branch to you.” Mr. Dong, standing beside, comnted on the stock ownership certificate.
“Do you have any good advice?” Xu Huo asked.
“If you need it.” Mr. Dong didn’t interfere with his decision.
Though the castle had been renovated, due to Mr. Dong’s personal preference, so original styles of the castle were retained. For instance, the lighting used at night; in areas not needed by Xu Huo, lights were generally turned off in advance. In the study, he left only one lamp, making the room slightly dim.
The stock ownership certificate and prop were placed under the table lamp, standing out illuminated by the light.
This isn’t a bad thing.
No matter what the Werna Family’s intentions were, it won’t have any significant effect on him for now, but he couldn’t return to Zone 014 for quite a while.
Xu Huo reached out and fiddled with the things on the table. After a mont, he casually said, “I think Zone 011 is pretty good, and I plan to live here long-term.”
He took the prop and had Mr. Dong put the stock ownership certificate away, so when it’s ti to claim money, he’ll go for accounting, then allocate a small portion of the company’s funds to support Dr. Deng’s research.
Everyone knows the situation with the Player, especially with Xu Huo having the black key. The behavior of Ashis and other Werna Family mbers towards Xu Huo demonstrated to other Nobles that top Nobles are paying attention to this small Noble newly arrived at Zone 011. Out of friendliness and a desire to connect, other Noble families began to show goodwill towards Xu Huo.
In the past, invitations to Xu Huo mostly involved donation-required banquets. Small gathering within Noble groups or formal events generally didn’t include him. However, after the New Year’s Eve party, he will be formally accepted by the Nobles.
Starting the next day, Xu Huo began receiving frequent invitations to gatherings, though not using very formal invitation cards. When it’s a formal invitation among Nobles, unless the invitee has a definite reason for not attending, it would be seen as disrespect. After a few such instances, the friendship could be jeopardized. Informal invitation cards are flexible and allow one to decline without a problem, especially for Xu Huo who is a Player, granting him flexibility.
The Werna Family didn’t have any further actions, and the matter of the Ti Yard was considered settled. Xu Huo currently had no spare ti to attend banquets; he needed to resolve the aftermath of Spirit Evolution before the next instance, so he asked Mr. Dong to politely decline various invitations, staying at the castle to communicate with his Shadow Personality.
Because his Shadow Personality was materialized, his mories about Doctor Zhang recovered significantly. This also made him reassess his childhood self, realizing that being able to perform dissections just like Xue Lang and others shows that Doctor Zhang had altered his personality. His later amnesia could have been caused by mory processing by Doctor Zhang, or due to childhood self-recognition issues, resulting in the multi-personality he has after Spirit Evolution.
Fully unleashing childhood personality poses certain risks for Xu Huo. The more mories he accepts, the less he remains the forr Xu Huo— obsessed with gambling, causing trouble, and reforming after his brother’s death. Instead, he would beco soone partially inheriting Doctor Zhang’s thoughts. His inability to reconcile himself in childhood does not imply that upon growing up he can totally accept the impact caused by “Doctor Zhang.”
Xu Huo is very satisfied with his current self and doesn’t want to lean towards Xue Lang or Zheng Yuci.
Naturally, this also beca a difficult challenge to overco. On one hand, he needs to accept the Shadow Personality; on the other hand, he fears irreversible situations may arise once he accepts the Shadow Personality. Whether communicating with the Shadow Personality or attempting to complete this process, he hesitates.
After several days of trying, he not only didn’t make progress, but frequent use of Psychic Power worsened the recently alleviated side effects.
After coming out once more from a confined space created by Mr. Dong, Xu Huo threw a handkerchief completely drenched in nosebleed into the burning brazier nearby.
The Girl in the painting was always playing in his room, resting her chin on her hand, staring at the handkerchief burning slowly, while raising the Communicator in her other hand, “Won’t you die from bleeding so much?”
Xu Huo tiredly leaned back in the chair, gazing at the ceiling, “I feel like I might be done for.”
“Hehe!” The Girl in the painting imdiately leaned over upon hearing this, then dug a pack of blood-red fluid from her pocket, “Drink this, to prevent bleeding out.”
Xu Huo slled the scent of blood, turned his head to look at her, “Where did you get this?”
“Soone gave it to .” The Girl in the painting took out two more packs, her eyes squinted into crescent shapes, “Many people asked
what gifts I wanted, so I said I wanted blood, fresh ones.”
“There’s enough now!”
