Chapter 2025: Chapter 2025: The Shadow Personality’s Refusal

"Under what circumstances would they terminate the experint?" Xu Huo asked after listening.

"In your case, it might be because your spiritual power is too high," Dr. Deng said. "Initially, you didn’t notice anything wrong with those bugs, but upon closer contact, you would find that what your eyes see and what you feel are different. This disparity between illusion and reality is more apparent to those with stronger spiritual power. So for you, this experint is considered a failure, as your data lacks reference value. Once you wake up, you’ll definitely try to wake others up. Even if the experint continues afterwards, it won’t be aningful."

"Is it possible for everyone’s psychic power on the train to be projected, affecting each other? Is that the extent reached by an evolved species?" Xu Huo pushed the cup in front of him, making the tea inside sway slightly, forming faint ripples.

Judging by the final results, everyone remained in place, so even if they all shared the sa illusion, it’s impossible for individuals to imagine reactions to others in a completely identical way. How is this different from what happens in reality? But it’s not real, which makes it especially absurd upon reflection.

"That’s what ordinary people can’t understand," Dr. Deng said. "Even though everyone is in the sa fake environnt, people’s thoughts differ, not to ntion there are quite a few people, so how can what one person imagines accurately project onto everyone’s senses? But this is a ga—how can you be sure that what you’re seeing now is real?"

Xu Huo’s face darkened, "Don’t try to deceive

with ambiguous things. Any falsehood must be grounded in reality, the more it can deceive people, the truer it must seem. The people on the train are random, the only thing brought by others was those bugs."

"What’s the function of those bugs exactly?"

Dr. Deng hesitated before saying, "This is just my guess. It might be a type of special evolving species allowing players to briefly project spiritual powers, paired with customized environnt simulation equipnt... This is my speculative guess based on my experience, but if there’s sothing new in the ga, then I wouldn’t know."

"Projecting psychic power into reality? And mass-produce it?" Xu Huo almost laughed in anger. If this could succeed, what are Doctor Zhang and Zheng Yuci doing, and what about Tang Guangbo? What about those super players, are they just playing with mud all the ti?"

Dr. Deng saw he was truly angry and hurriedly clarified, "I’ve said, it’s just my hypothesis and may not be accurate. Moreover, in such experints, to put it bluntly, eighty to ninety percent are failures. Sotis it’s not entirely about verifying the ability of the evolving species, but simply about mastering player’s data."

To put it plainly, genuine results from such experints are quite rare, but they do help in gathering a large amount of specific data from players. This data seems vast to ordinary people but is foundational for the company developing the ga to enhance it.

"That’s why I said there’s no need to delve deeply into this..." Dr. Deng’s voice grew softer, realizing continuing might get him punched, he found an excuse to return to the lab.

Xu Huo exhaled deeply, his thoughts revolving around the experintal aliens in Zone 017 and the events on the train for a long ti before he cald down.

At that mont, the Girl in the painting placed so snacks before him, "Are you hungry?"

Xu Huo had no appetite, got up, and went to the study upstairs, sitting behind the desk, he stared dazedly at the information left by He Pu.

As ti flowed forward, after sitting quietly for a while, he opened the library, descended the stairs step by step to the lowest level, and sat next to the table in the deepest part of the library. Soon, the other personalities arrived, mimicking his actions in taking seats, including the Shadow Personality, which was usually reluctant to co out.

The Shadow Personality was still pitch black, yet had a physical form akin to a real person, though its features were invisible, its body shrouded in black smoke, making it inscrutable.

Xu Huo stared at him for a long ti before making up his mind and reached towards him slowly.

The Shadow Personality’s head moved slightly, seemingly looking at his face first, then his hand, after a while, placing its hand on the table.

The Shadow Personality was very hesitant, but Xu Huo was patient, both sides persisted this way.

No one knew how much ti passed before the Shadow Personality finally extended a hand towards Xu Huo but the mont they touched, it suddenly grabbed Xu Huo’s hand and forcefully twisted it downward!

Xu Huo, in pain, did not yank his hand away forcefully but still retreated slightly.

The Shadow Personality, sensing this, held him tightly, head drawing closer, with that faceless expressionless countenance projected malice.

However, it did not intend to kill Xu Huo nor attempt to seize control of the body, after a while, it seed to lose interest and released its grip, flipping over other materialized items representing other personalities on the table, pulling out its own black sheet to nonchalantly open a door and slip away.

Not knowing whether to feel disappointed or relieved, Xu Huo lifted his hand, and his surroundings reverted to his study, where he laid out paper and pen, using the "Ho Field View" characteristic.

Regarding the train incident this ti, "Ho Field View" described it quite simply; the process not needing elaboration, rely pointing out at the end:

"If Xu Huo were a bit more clear-headed, he would realize that not all of the train passengers appeared in his hallucination. There were discrepancies among other players’ characteristics, such as appearance or height, because even sharing the sa false external environnt, each person’s mind would sowhat influence others, forming a mutually accepted objective reality."

Xu Huo frowned slightly, closing his eyes to recall changes around him upon waking from the hallucination.

So details were indeed blurred, but his mind’s inertia naturally filled them in, making such details easily overlooked when unable to focus intently on certain intricacies.

After burning what he wrote with "Ho Field View," he reclined back in his chair. Whether to find the perfect potion or to advance matters regarding Doctor Zhang and the Stellar Secret Laboratory, he first needed to resolve the Shadow Personality issue.

"Knock knock." Mr. Dong knocked on the door, bringing steaming hot als.

Xu Huo, much calr, finished the al Mr. Dong brought.

Mr. Dong waited beside him until he put down the utensils before saying: "Should we invite Miss Kou Kou? Although she doesn’t like you much due to the heir issue with the castle, she is a capable Super Evolver."

Xu Huo hesitated for a mont, "No need for now."

He believed he could solve this matter on his own.
