The Demon's fists landed like hamrs on the middle-aged man's body, blood spraying from his mouth, and eventually, even his shattered organs.

By now, the middle-aged man was at death's door, hanging onto his final breath, yet he still desperately clung to the Demon's thigh.

The light in his eyes slowly faded, and as scenes flashed before him, the middle-aged man saw his own child, smiling and running towards him. That dear, adorable face—with big eyes and sharp little canines—remained as ever. He reached out with both hands for a final embrace of his daughter, murmuring to himself, "This ti, Daddy did it."

The angered lesser Demon threw the mangled corpse of the middle-aged man aside, scrambled over the city walls, and chased in the direction Cui Cui had fled. If he could not bring back the offering, he could imagine just how miserable his own end would be.

As Cui Cui ran through the mountains and forests, the voice of the middle-aged man still echoed in her ears. Her usually cheerful face was now streaked with tears, yet she dared not stop, knowing that if she did, the uncle's sacrifice would have been in vain.

The howl of the wind reached her ears, the gusts created by the rapidly pursuing Demon behind her.

Tripping over her feet, Cui Cui tumbled through the woodland. Intense pain filled her young eyes with tears, but she bravely wiped them away and started a new sprint.

However, the pain in her ankle slowed her down, while the hideous Demon behind her was inches away.

"You can't escape," the lesser Demon opened his mouth, its sharp teeth flashing with cold light.

Cui Cui clutched her doll tightly, slowly backing away, as the Demon in front of her inched closer. Still, she struggled to survive, not wanting to betray the uncle who had fought for her chance at life with his own.

But already, she could hear the Demon's heavy breathing by her ear and sll the thick scent of blood through her nose. She was about to be caught.

Just then, a figure appeared before her, a young man in a green robe, dressed like a Scholar, his attention focused on carving sothing on a piece of wood, standing quietly not too far away.

The lesser Demon looked up in astonishnt. Within a thousand miles of Lion Cal City, where could a human figure be found other than the captive human race? Where did this eerie Scholar in the green robe co from?

Moonlight stread through the dense forest, casting dappled light across the Scholar's face as he gently lifted his head to gaze at the resolute Cui Cui, a radiant smile spreading across his face.

Cui Cui had never seen such a beautiful smile, like a ray of sunshine piercing straight to the heart, offering warmth and making this harrowed young girl unable to hold back her tears, even as she faced death, even after hearing about the uncle who fought for her chance at life with his own, even as a fearso Demon was about to capture her for food—Cui Cui had never cried like this before.

Tears flowed down her cheeks, mixing with the dirt on her face, falling to the ground. Cui Cui could not understand why she felt this way, yet she couldn't stop herself from wanting to cry her heart out.

A little girl wept bitterly in the dark of night, under the dense forest, with moonlight gently shining upon her, as if to soothe the sorrow in her heart. A Scholar in a green robe, stepping through the moonlight, slowly approached the young girl, gently stroked the top of her head, his face adorned with a warm smile.

Cui Cui lifted her head to look at the handso young man, and for a mont, she seed sowhat entranced.

On the other hand, the demon that had been pursuing her had now clearly seen the Scholar's true face, and its fierce and crazed visage was filled with horror. It pointed at the Scholar in the green robe standing beside the young girl and stuttered, "Lu, Lu Yu!"

As it uttered this na, its voice involuntarily rose to a terrified scream. It had recognized the Scholar's identity, none other than the Tea Saint Lu Yu, who had unsettled several Great Kings with sleepless nights and destroyed the elite forces of Lion Cal City, a nightmare in the hearts of all demons within Lion Cal City.

The mont the demon recognized Lu Yu, only the final words of that middle-aged man echoed in its mind.

Escape! We only have the choice to desperately flee when facing Lu Yu, the ruthless character who nearly killed three Great Kings of Lion Cal City. Such a petty demon as myself is no different from an ant in his presence.

"Do you think you can escape?" Lu Yu's voice softly rang in his ear, almost causing his soul to leave his body.

It was then that the demon realized that, although it was frantically trying to escape, it was still standing in the sa spot. It turned out it was only escaping in its consciousness; his true body had long since been frozen in place, unable to move.

The demon strained to open its eyes wide, trying with all its might to break free, but Lu Yu's Freezing Spell was not in vain. No matter how hard it struggled or resisted, its body remained utterly motionless, not even capable of voicing a plea for rcy.

Lu Yu slowly stroked Cui Cui's head and walked towards the demon, his expression growing darker the closer he got. By the ti he reached the demon's side, his eyes were filled with angry flas.

Suddenly, the raging flas began to burn on the demon's body. The terrifying Samadhi True Fire not only incinerated the monster's flesh but also burned its soul, plunging it into endless agony. However, due to the Freezing Spell, the demon remained immobile, only able to feel the extre pain before turning to ash, vanishing forever from the Three Realms.

Cui Cui stared blankly at the scene, her cute little mouth agape. The fearso demon, the most horrifying entity spoken of by her parents and often used by adults to scare children, the strange uncle that it had killed, was now effortlessly slain by this handso young man. Cui Cui felt it all seed so unreal.

She gently pinched her arm, the sharp pain confirming to her that this was no dream. The demon that had always brought fear to her since she was little was indeed dead, turned to ashes, never to reappear again.

"Little one, are you scared?" Lu Yu's gentle voice sounded in Cui Cui's ear.

"He's just... dead?" Cui Cui seed to hardly believe it.

"Of course, how else would you want him to die?" Lu Yu said gently as he stroked the young girl's hair.

"Brother Da Niu, Sister Xiao Hua, the demon is dead, boo hoo, the demon is dead. Cui Cui misses you so much!" Cui Cui's emotions finally burst forth. The young girl was not ignorant, but she had just suppressed all her sorrow deep down, presenting her most optimistic side to everyone, rely wishing not to worry the adults.

However, with the nightmare's end, the young girl could no longer hold back, and her tears gushed forth like a breached flood.
