The wind here was wrong.

It didn’t howl, didn’t whistle — it sang. Low, vibrating tones that pressed against Zephyr’s bones, making every step feel heavier. The obsidian platform beneath his boots floated in a sky that was neither day nor night, its swirling gold-and-violet haze swallowing the horizon.

Ahead, three enormous thrones rose from jagged pillars of black crystal, each occupied by a figure whose presence warped the very air.

[SYSTEM ALERT]

Area Entered: Celestial Battlefield — Outer Ring

Boss Threat: Western Triumvirate

— Warlord Kael’Thar, Flaforged Tyrant

— Warlord Nyxara, Mistress of the Veil

— Warlord Branthos, Earthbreaker

Estimated Combined Power: Lethal

---

The one in the center — Kael’Thar — was the first to rise. His armor was forged from molten gold and black iron, heat radiating from his body in waves. Each movent shed sparks that sizzled into the stone.

"Half-blood," Kael’Thar’s voice was a hamr striking an anvil. "You’ve slain a vessel of the Hollow One. Impressive... for a creature so incomplete."

To his right, Nyxara lounged lazily in her throne. Her body was wrapped in shadowy silks that moved as though alive, obscuring everything but her eyes — eyes like twin shards of moonlight.

"Kael, must you always be so dramatic?" she purred. "I find the boy... interesting. He slls of both conquest and ruin."

On the left, Branthos sat hunched forward, his colossal fra draped in stone plates that looked carved from mountains. When he finally spoke, it was like a landslide.

"Test him. If he survives, we listen. If he dies... feed him to the sands."

---

Zephyr raised Eclipsefang. "If you’re looking for a fight—"

Kael’Thar’s laugh interrupted him, deep and molten. "Not yet. You’re to be... asured first."

---

The ground behind Zephyr split open. From the rift surged creatures of molten rock, whispering shadows, and jagged crystal — a dozen in all, each radiating killing intent.

[SYSTEM OBJECTIVE]

Trial of the Western Triumvirate — Survive the First asure

Ti Limit: 180 seconds

---

Zephyr sprang into motion. The first creature lunged, a molten hound snapping at his arm. He sidestepped, Eclipsefang cleaving through its neck in one fluid motion. The blade hissed as molten blood splattered the ground.

The second enemy — a veil wraith — flickered toward him, its claws slicing for his ribs. He twisted, activating [Shadow Step], and appeared behind it, driving his sword upward through its spine.

250 EXP

Minor Mana Crystal (x1)

---

The minutes beca a blur of steel and instinct. Zephyr’s boots skidded on the smooth stone, parrying Branthos’s summoned golems and Kael’Thar’s fla beasts while Nyxara’s illusions tried to twist his perception. Once, the battlefield around him warped into a mory — his village burning — but the [Illusion Breaker] passive flared, shattering the false scene.

---

[SYSTEM TIR]

:08 seconds remaining...

---

The final creature — a magma serpent — coiled around him, its heat blistering his skin. Zephyr gritted his teeth, stabbing upward into its skull as the tir hit zero.

The serpent dissolved into steam.

[SYSTEM OBJECTIVE COMPLETE]

Survive the First asure — Success

Reward: Triumvirate Mark (Stage 1)

---

Kael’Thar’s molten eyes glead. "Better than expected."

Nyxara leaned forward. "Shall I have him brought to my arena next?"

"Not yet," Branthos rumbled. "The others must be considered."

The words made Zephyr’s jaw tighten. "Others?"

Nyxara’s smile widened. "Oh... did you think you were the only piece Mira moved on the board? Your won — Zahra, Seraphina, the fragile one you call Elara — they’ve each been sent to their own trials."

---

Interlude — Zahra

The mont the light ripped her from Zephyr’s side, Zahra hit solid ground — a jagged plateau under a blood-red sky.

Ahead, warriors in bronze masks ford a circle, each holding curved blades dripping with poison.

A voice bood above the wind: "Champion of the Blade Dance — prove your worth, or be cut from the song."

Zahra drew her sword, lips curling into a grin. "Fine. Let’s see how sharp your song really is."

---

Interlude — Seraphina

Seraphina awoke in darkness, waist-deep in cold water. Chains glowed faintly around her wrists, but they weren’t solid — they were made of mana, draining her power.

A silver-haired woman in flowing white stood on the shore, her eyes blindfolded. "Mage of fire, can you burn without fla? Or will you drown in your own silence?"

Seraphina spat water. "You’ll find out."

---

Interlude — Elara

Elara’s consciousness floated between waking and sleep. She could still feel the shadow of the Hollow One clinging to her soul, whispering temptations.

In the distance, a set of golden gates shimred — and before them, a hooded figure waited.

"Elara of the Storm-Born," the figure intoned. "You are summoned to face what remains of yourself."

---

Back on the Celestial Battlefield, Zephyr clenched his fists. "If you’ve hard them—"

Nyxara’s silks shifted like snakes. "Harm? No. We test. If they pass... perhaps they will be returned to you."

"And if they fail?" Zephyr asked.

Kael’Thar’s grin was pure fire. "Then their strength becos ours."

[SYSTEM QUEST UPDATE]

Main Quest: Trials of the Triumvirate

— Survive your own trial.

— Reunite with Zahra, Seraphina, and Elara before their ti runs out.

Ti Remaining: 3 days

---

The obsidian platform shifted beneath Zephyr’s feet, separating into three narrow bridges leading away into different directions — each glowing with a distinct aura: crimson fla, silver mist, and earthen shadow.

Kael’Thar’s voice followed him as the bridges began to drift apart.

"Choose well, half-blood. You cannot walk all paths."

---

Zephyr’s heartbeat thundered in his ears. Choosing one ant the others would be alone longer. But hesitation here was as deadly as a blade to the throat.

He tightened his grip on Eclipsefang and stepped forward—

—and the entire battlefield lurched violently, a crack splitting the sky.

[SYSTEM WARNING]

Unknown Entity Breaching Celestial Battlefield Boundaries

---

From the rift above, a colossal, many-eyed shadow began to force its way in, its presence blotting out the gold and violet haze. The Triumvirate stopped speaking. Even they looked... wary.

Branthos rose to his full height. "That should not be here."

Zephyr’s system interface flickered violently.

---

[SYSTEM ERROR]

Threat Classification: Unknown — Data Corrupted

---

The shadow’s voice was neither male nor female, and it spoke directly into every mind present.
