It was clearly divided into 9 sections. However, the monunt was still one piece.
The monunt appeared from the crack and descended towards the centre of the platform.
Scattered Soul Daoist was seated at the centre of the platform, his expression changed drastically when he saw the monunt descend upon him. He quickly moved out of the way.
A loud thud rang out when the monunt took root on the platform.
Everyone stared at it with curious gazes.
"This is the Potential Assessnt Steele. It will test your talent and potential for cultivation."
"There are 9 sections on the Steele, the higher your talent and potential, the more sections which will light up."
"This trial is all about your potential. As long as you can light up more than 4 sections, you will have successfully passed the third trial. If any one of you can light up more than 8 sections, I’ll grant you a reward."
"If less than 4 sections light up, then you will have failed the trial. However, there is no death penalty, I’ll send you out of the Tides of Chaos. The ones with the highest cultivation shall go first." Upon finishing his explanation, Tian Huang looked towards Scattered Soul Daoist.

A few monts later, the first section of the Steele lit up. This was followed by the second, third and fourth. The fifth section lit up another mont later, and the sixth section showed signs of lighting up, it took a good few breaths before the sixth section was lit up dimly.
After waiting for 10 more breaths, the seventh section did not light up.
"You have passed the third trial, next." Tian Huang languidly stated, he then looked towards a 9th-stage Qi Transformation Realm cultivator.
The 9th stage Qi Transformation Realm cultivator walked up to the Potential Assessnt Steele and placed his hand upon it. Similar to Scattered Soul Daoist, 5 sections lit up almost instantly. The sixth section also lit up a mont later.
Unparalleled excitent appeared on the cultivator’s face. Six sections lighting up ant that he had a chance to reach the Spirit Ascension Realm in the future!
