"I was thinking... since it’s late and we’ve had quite a day, maybe you could... um, spend the night in the dorm?" Chris said hesitantly.
Sky’s gaze t Chris’s, hesitation flickering in his eyes. Chris could sense the internal struggle, and he was determined not to take no for an answer.
"I an, it’s already quite late. And it’s your dorm anyway," Chris continued, his tone casual yet persistent.
Sky’s reluctance was palpable; his fingers gripped the steering wheel. "That... would be... not bad..."
Chris could sense a ’but’ coming.
"But I... I didn’t plan for it." Sky added.
"What do you need to plan? This is your dorm room too. Your clothes are there, and even if they aren’t, you can wear mine."
"The truck belongs to my uncle, and he might need it back."
Chris’s determination only grew stronger. "We can call your uncle and let him know. I’m sure he won’t mind if the truck stays here for the night. It’s just one night."
Sky’s gaze darted away briefly before returning to Chris. "I don’t know..."
Chris wasn’t about to back down. He’d co this far, and he wasn’t going to let Sky slip away. "Co on... I am already traumatized after what happened earlier, and I need my big bro tonight..." He tried to stop himself from laughing loudly when he said that, but he couldn’t stop the chuckle that escaped his lips, and neither could Sky.
Sky’s resolve seed to waver, a mixture of uncertainty and consideration dancing in his eyes. Chris seized the opportunity to press his advantage.
"And besides, you won’t have to worry about finding your way back at night. It’s a win-win situation."
Sky’s lips curved into a half-smile, his gaze softening. "You’re really persuasive, you know that?"
Chris bead, a sense of triumph washing over him. "I can be." He said smugly.
"I get very apprehensive when people are persuasive." He said in a light tone that made Chris’s eyes light up with mischief.
"I promise I won’t bite... unless you want to."
Sky chuckled a hint of reluctance in his eyes. "It’s not that. It’s just... well—"
"Call him. Your uncle." Chris demanded.
"Jeez! You are really controlling."
"Wanna try guessing who I learned it from?" Chris asked him, amused.
"I’ll try. But if he needs his truck, then there’s nothing I can do about it."
Sky looked unsure, his gaze flickering between Chris and the dormitory building. Chris could see the internal struggle in his eyes, but he held his ground.
"Then you’d better call him now before they close the gates."
Sky took out his phone and called his uncle. And to Chris’s greatest surprise and confusion, Sky communicated with him in a strange language that he had no clue about. The only familiar word he heard was ’dorm’.
He watched Sky’s side profile in awe, Intrigued at how sexy he looked and sounded right now.
Sky ended the call and turned to Chris, shrugging. Chris was almost hearing his heart break, but then Sky casually said his uncle told him it was fine to return the truck in the morning.
Chris almost bead when he heard that. "Looks like we’re all set," he said with a triumphant grin.
Sky rolled his eyes, a playful scoff escaping his lips. "You’re way too smug about this."
"You must really not like losing against ." Chris taunted.
"Alright, alright. I’ll take you up on that offer. But only if you promise not to keep up all night with your antics."
A naughty glint appeared in Chris’s eyes before he buried it with an innocent smile and wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, his voice dripping with mock innocence. "Oh, you have no idea what you’re getting into."
Sky’s laughter mixed with a playful groan. "I have a feeling I’ll find out soon enough."
As they both stepped out of the truck, Chris couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishnt. He had managed to convince Sky to spend the night, and he was determined to make the most of it, reminding himself not to ask any silly questions that may lead to them quarrelling.
When they got inside the room, Chris went to pick up his things for a shower. There was no way he was going to bed with the sll of the filthy police station all over him.
However, he noticed Sky was sitting on his bed and looked rather uncomfortable.
"What is wrong?" Chris turned to ask him, his concern evident.
Sky’s voice wavered as he confessed, "I just feel uncomfortable. I... I need to wash up."
Chris didn’t see why that should be a problem. "Then... shower?" He offered in confusion.
"I don’t... do that in public bathrooms." Chris was able to pick up the trace of timidity in Sky’s voice when he said that.
Chris wanted to ask further, but then his mouth snapped shut, and he was quick to put two and two together and rember that Sky was always fully covering up. Always guarded.
"Would you like to watch guard while you shower?" He offered instead and noticed how Sky’s brows furrowed. "Don’t think any of these slackers would be showering now. I’ve noticed..." He leaned closer, as if sharing a juicy secret, then whispered, "They rarely shower here."
Sky let out a laugh, though his hesitation remained. "It’s just..."
"Can you try to trust and not overthink things? At least for tonight?" Chris interrupted.
Sky didn’t answer imdiately, so Chris continued on a lighter note. "Besides... I don’t think anyone in their right mind would dare try to break in after seeing standing there. This buff look is not for nothing," he said, flexing his biceps and winking at him.
Sky grinned in amusent before he hesitantly nodded.
There was no feeling as pleasant as having Sky succumb to his demands. It was beautiful. Chris tried to suppress his smile as he resud speaking.
"So co on. You can shower first while I stand guard. When you’re done, you can co freshen up in here while I shower. So get your stuff and trust this sugar baby to handle things for you."
"Argh! Can you choose one and stick with it? Do you want to be your big bro and sugar daddy?" Sky asked as he got up.
Chris fully turned to face him and crossed his arms across his chest as he said, "Well... it depends on what you want to be."
Sky locked eyes with him, and then, with a thoughtful look, he said, "I think I’ll take being your big bro instead."
"Why so?" Chris asked, trying not to let his disappointnt show, even though they were just ssing around and he shouldn’t be taking this seriously.
"Because you need guidance. And I’d be less pissed, obviously." He shrugged.
"Less pissed about what?"
"About you being all over the place. I’d get really mad if you were still flirting with other people despite us coming to a consensus that you would be my baby."
Chris could not stop the laugh that forced its way out of his mouth. "Are you crazy?
Nah. Seriously... this guy was insane.
"You flirt with everyone and everything, and you think you have the right to be pissed if I flirt with others?" Chris asked him in disbelief.
"Really now? I don’t an it when I flirt with others. Everyone knows I have boundaries. But it’s not the sa for you. You don’t mind stripping in the presence of others. You wouldn’t even find soone randomly trying to kiss or hug in public."
"Okay... I can admit to the first one. But I don’t just go about stripping to flirt with people. Besides... no one had tried to kis--- oh!"
Rain.
Sky smirked at him.
"Fine! But no one hugs in public."
"So what were you doing with Wilson? Dancing?" Sky asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Wilson?" Chris asked in confusion.
Wilson.
Oh!
The hug!
Why was he talking about sothing causal that happened a while ago?
"You were so comfortable hugging him in public. You should have just moulded yourselves into each other." Sky rolled his eyes.
"Okay! First of all, he hugged . Secondly... Wilson is my friend, and he has a boyfriend! I already told you that."
"When did you tell that?" Sky asked in confusion.
"Wow! I just rembered that you weren’t exactly sober. But that was it. He was going through a tough ti, and well... a hug isn’t so bad to receive from my friend."
Sky eyed him. "Whatever."
Chris narrowed his eyes to look at him. "You know what? Co here," he said, opening his arms wide for a hug.
"Not interested." Sky shooed him off.
"You have no choice. I am going to hug you right now since you seem really jealous that I hugged soone else!" Chris spoke in a serious tone before going after him.
"Do not bring your dirty body here!" Sky said in horror as he tried to get away, but Chris was bound to catch him.
That was how both guys chased after each other around the room, giggling like kids until Chris caught him, and both of them fell on Chris’s bed, with Chris falling on top of Sky, both of their faces only a few inches away from each other.
The laughter stopped at once as both of them locked eyes.
