Chris could not sleep that night. He kept tossing and turning in his small bed in the dark room, where he was alone again.

As usual, Sky was nowhere in sight, and Chris appreciated that. He didn’t want to see him. In fact, he didn’t want to see him at all until the end of his studies, and he hoped he wouldn’t return to this room ever again!

But as much as he hated Sky right now, the image of Sky’s hair falling all over his face as he stood on that stage and his hand reaching to push them out of his perfect face continued to replay in his head in slow motion.

That perfect face that had transford from a masculine pretty face to a feminine pretty face continued to hunt him.

He tossed again, unable to rid his head of those thoughts in order to fall asleep.

Since he heard Sky was heading the school gym, he had thought he was one of those guys who overdid it and used the gym to destroy their bodies with so many taut muscles.

But seeing Sky’s chiseled thighs, which were exposed down to the ankle boots, proved he did it in a healthy way. They were firm and matched his entire fra.

It was a cold night, but Chris felt hot all over. So much so that he even threw down the covers and tossed again, groaning in frustration.

His hands sought his face and then moved down to his neck, slowly caressing it. They then trailed down to his chest, and then only one hand continued the journey, slowly moving down his body until it got to the waistband of his brief.

The picture of Sky ca in full force, making his breathing hitch up, and at once he sat up on the bed, swearing angrily.

"WHAT. THE. FUCK!"

He was not like this.

How could HE, Christopher Owen, allow Sky to ss with his head?

It was he who ssed with people’s heads. It was he whom others craved and touched themselves for. It was NEVER going to be the other way around. He was never going to fall into this stupid lust after all it took for him to co here. And especially not for soone like Sky.

He picked up his phone, which he had turned off when he left The Pub in a foul mood.

As soon as the phone ca on, he noticed the ti hadn’t gone far yet; it felt like he had been up for hours. It was just 1 a.m. at midnight. He also noticed three missed calls, all from Rachel, and three text ssages, which he reluctantly opened.

The first ssage was from an unsaved number that didn’t look familiar.

Seeing Sky’s na next made his heart stop.

He hated feeling like this. He hated it with everything in him.

The last ssage was Rachel’s.

Despite the fact that he hated what was happening to him, Sky’s ssage was the one he opened first.

(The others said you weren’t feeling well. Should I get you any kind of dication in the morning?) Chris scoffed at the ssage. Who did he think he was to care about his health? He should send that unwanted care to others, just like he always did.

"I don’t want your stupid care," Chris muttered angrily and exited the ssage without sending a response.

He opened Rachel’s ssage next and read it.

(You know I’m here for you, right? I’ll co see you in your dorm tomorrow. Goodnight, C.O.)

Her ssage made him feel a little bit better. Rembering all that had happened tonight still left a bitter taste in his mouth. He wished he hadn’t left the dorm in the first place. He felt like an idiot. A big idiot.

(Ok.)

He responded.

He was about to shut off his phone when he rembered he still had one unread ssage from an unknown line and exited Rachel’s to check who it was. He had soone in mind, but when he opened the ssage, he was quite surprised to see who had sent it.

(Are you okay?)

(This is Rain, by the way. I stole your number from Sky’s phone.)

This was Rain.

He blinked at the ssage in surprise.

The sa Rain he had been admiring before that non-practising wizard ruined his night.

He didn’t think twice before he began to text her back, feeling a whole lot better.

(I’m good. I felt a little sick and had to hurry back.)

He did feel very sick when he got a realization and realized he had unconsciously deluded himself for a minute.

Almost as soon as he sent that ssage, he got a notification that she had read it, and she began to type back.

Her ssage ca in.

(Cool. Do you want to hang out tomorrow?)

She was into him.

He had noticed that from the first ti they t, but he didn’t know whether it was just infatuation or whether she was really into him and wanted to know him.

Either way, he rembered that Sky had warned him to steer clear of his sister. And more than that, he rembered his goal here. He was supposed to be focused and stay away from ’other people’.

No emotional entanglent!

(I’m not sure that’s a good idea.)

Her ssage ca after a long minute. (Because of Sky?)

He replied. (I won’t lie and tell you he didn’t ntion staying away from you.)

(So you HAVE talked about with him...)

Well, he had just ssed up by admitting that. But he had asked out of good intentions, and it was Sky who had made it a big deal, telling him that friends were to stay away from his sister. But he wasn’t Sky’s friend, right?

(I won’t deny that.)

(Then co watch our basketball practice tomorrow. We’re preparing for a big ga.)

(You can as well decide not to. But think about it. We’re heading ho now. Good night.)

Chris read the ssages, but all he could text back was "Good night."
