"W-who are you?" The king managed to utter, his voice shaky and weak.

One of the magistrate mages pushed his head up from the floor, noticing the king speak.

’He can talk under this imnse pressure!? I guess that’s the king for you... There is a reason he holds that title.’ The court mage thought to himself.

Dorian turned and glanced past his shoulder, "Wrong. He can speak because I allow it."

The court mage’s eyes widened with shock, ’He... can hear my thoughts...’ Horror crashed over him like a tsunami. The realization that Dorian had heard all of the things he had said in his head was devastating.

’S-such a powerful being. I am surely dead. There is no escaping this. There is no denying this. This power is overwhelming... it is all that exists.’ The mage thought in his delirium.

’Who is this monster? His energy is that of myth. I’ve never experienced sothing so unfathomably powerful.’ Another magus mused inwardly.

’niras is... no. Ygnahril itself might be in the tracks of a stampede it is not yet ready to face.’ The court mage with a long white beard said to himself, worry flashing over his eyes.

Dorian turned to face the king.

"I am Dorian Vaal Morvayne. I’m sure you have heard of since you were a child." Dorian said.

The king’s eyelids flew open with surprise, "T-the Dorian Vaal Morvayne!? Surely not... how could it be? Were you not slain by the hands of--" He was cut off.

"Estar Helms Sintherion... a grand na for such a pathetic waste of human flesh and blood," Dorian said, seemingly repulsed. "Don’t bark questions."

The king, addressed as "Estar," simply nodded. He felt like a torture victim who had been abused for hours and had finally reached the tipping point.

He was completely vulnerable. His soul had been shattered. His confidence was nonexistent.

Before the mighty and demonic aura of Dorian, he felt like a re flea in comparison. In fact, he was less than a flea.

Standing beside Dorian, he wasn’t even real. He was rely a shadow of Dorian, and so was every other living being.

Even though his thoughts were irrational, they were the only ones that popped into his head as he sat before the imnse commander.

"I am here because I heard a Player joined hands with this kingdom. The threat was smaller than I had first thought, since Kyphas is now a asly town surrounding a peninsula. Still... a player isn’t soone to be underestimated, even by ." Dorian said. He didn’t reveal his intentions yet, or why he cared about this player.

But he didn’t need to.

Estar was in no ntal space to ask any questions at this mont. He was in a daze of terror.

"A player has joined us, yes. He is under our protection--" Estar was cut off once again.

"Protection?" Dorian scoffed, "So it’s on a leash. I see... your plan with him is to use him for your own gain. Maybe even to bring this pathetic village to the grand empire it once was, or at least try your best at doing so."

"H-his na is Michael Angelion. He was deed to be of no threat. When he was first discovered, he was nothing more than a moron screaming threats to take over the kingdom if we did not assist him. I assu he thought his title of player would help him, rather than make him a target. However... you are right." Estar admitted.

In a normal state, this following statent wasn’t sothing he was ever willing to say aloud. But right now, even Estar’s most deep and personal thoughts were free ga. In exchange for his life and sanity, words and promises were worthless.

"We wanted to invite the player within our own ranks... to lure him with a false sense of safety. We won’t turn against him, but rather, use him just like you said to the best of our ability. With him by our side, we can capture even more players and eventually beco a world superpower once again." Estar spoke with a sober mind, but he felt as though he had swallowed a truth serum of so sort.

His mouth blabbered facts like there was no tomorrow.

"After joining us, he does everything he wants individually. He has free rein, conducting his own experints during his own ti." Estar said.

Dorian’s eyelids narrowed slightly with confusion on hearing this.

’Experints?’ He questioned in his head.

"What is his goal?" Dorian asked.

"Well... he says it’s world domination, of course. He is obsessed with it, going through any thod to get what he wants, no matter the moral context behind it." Estar paused.

’Any thod, huh?’ Dorian thought for a split second.

"Apart from that, his more recent goal is to venture north... to enter the northern dark lands and awaken chaos in that continent," Estar said, his chin darted low as his eyes remained glued to Dorian.

Dorian’s brows raised with shock for a split second. His pupils flickered as though thoughts raced through his head before centering once again. His eyelids narrowed with hostility.

"He ans to explore the northern continent? Why? Who planted such a foolish idea in his head?" Dorian said in a low tone.

"N-not ! And I can assure you it was none of the Holy Magistrate mbers either, so I beg of you to spare them. His thoughts are his alone... we know not how he surmises them." Estar replied, bargaining for safety.

"Tsk..." Dorian clicked his tongue, "Suicidal... that doesn’t even begin to explain the thought of entering that long deserted hellscape." He glanced down at the king, "Where is he now? I want to go et this... Michael."
