[OP: ]
"When I first started out as an adventurer, I did not think about doing cool things, going out into the world and exploring it, or going into dungeons to earn big money.
I always hated killing the creatures even if they may be dangerous. I did not hesitate when I needed to kill my first hunt though, so don't take it as being a scaredy cat, but… I just found the creatures interesting.
Rember I told you about my mom who used to work in this big potion shop? Well, they used to make potions there, the alchemists I an. And, she used to tell all about how she secretly liked watching them make dicines and the potions that we use."
Miss Nerissa was telling Anna about herself once again.
And the little girl was simply listening to her with a happy smile on her face.
"Potions… they excited ."
While the other adventurers who had accompanied her and Eon into the dungeon had gone to their own hos, she had stayed behind since her work here was still not done yet.
Anna was still here, which ant she had to stay behind and tell her about her adventures.
"Do you know? To make the most basic recovery potion, you only need three ingredients: The Mana grass, the yellow nuel flowers, and so concentrated Biem solution made from pressured water that contains a certain kind of bacteria."
Miss Nerissa had sparked a new interest of alchemy in Anna over the last few days that they had been together.
Actually, the two had beco close friends in the last few days and Anna even knew how Miss Nerissa had to be there because her grandma had asked her to.
It wasn't a burden to her, but since she knew her grandmother, and since she respected the people in her house, she did not really think of this job as sothing like a forced order, or burden.
She initially wanted to finish this work and do her own job in the anti, but as she started knowing more about Anna, her relationship with the people around her, how unique she was and even how she was so close with all the creatures around the house, she started seeing this job as more of an opportunity than just work.
With Anna being the centre of this house, getting on her good side already ant having better opportunities in the future, but that was not the end, which she only understood after seeing Anna train for nine hours of her day.
"The potion stimulates the various hormones and muscles inside our bodies when we take it, it then signles them to work faster.
As the potion makes its way to internal injuries, it binds together the parts that have been affected and while they bind it, the body heals itself under the effect of the potion.
The reason that the potions have various levels though, is because how this whole process should be played out depends on the effects the potion would have on the wounds… but I guess I will just bore you with those things."
Though this had only been happening since recently, she sotis found herself lost in her own words, talking about things that she knew were not sothing the young girl should know about.
"No no! Tell more about it, Nessy! Please!"
But perhaps the reason she never stopped doing it was because of the look that Anna gave her every ti she had that look.
"Tell what you wanted to tell earlier. For now, continue with the potions~."
She wanted to tell Anna how she started her adventuring career, but the talk drifted off to the functioning of the potions, sothing not even those who knew how to create a potion sotis show interest in.
"Okay, then…" Discover exclusive tales on empire
She continued with how the functions of each grade of potion differed depending on their binding capacity, their effect duration, as well as their function intensity.
She told her how the reason the high ranking potions utilised environntal Mana to heal the wounds artificially, the reason behind the decrease of effect efficiency as more potions are taken over a short period.
Also, she told her how holy water, or anything utilising holy power differed in the healing process: how the holy energy contained in them introduced body to a new kind of energy that not only increased the body's innate healing factor, it also acted as body's healing factor itself and healed the body as if the body was healing itself.
"Have you ever t a priest, my Lady?"
"Oh, yes~! I've t a few~. In fact, I've even t a pope~. Hehe."
She was not just the ruler of Heliox, she was also soone that has been introduced to the high society of the Roxanna.
People knew her, she had t them, and they knew about her, or even spent a fortune to make a connection with her.
"You've… t a pope, huh? Isn't that cool?"
"Yes~! He's a cool person~!"
Despite her age, Anna was the Younger sister of Axion, the genius inventor, the future successor of not just Heliox na, but also the firstborn son of Nolen Heliox, a demoness like business giant, as well as a mage on the path to beco an elder, Brian Krot.
Not just the people around her or her family, even those unrelated to her were exceptionally aware of her existence for many reasons.
The fact that all of Heliox as well as Atraxia adored her was no news to the people of high status around the world. If they were eting either of the mbers of the families, they would instantly know how much they cared for that child.
So…
"Yeah. They are cool people."
Those who were allowed to be anywhere near this child, those who were not part of the family, those who had to work with the child while being under constant observation and worry of an imdiate assassination from one of the finest in the nation…
At first, she was like that as well.
"Holy energy is good, sotis, it's as good as miracles. But, it also has its flaws that we will talk about so other ti."
Miss Nerissa shook her head as her previous smile returned on her face.
"As I was saying earlier… the reason I dropped out of school and started out as an adventurer instead of learning more about Alchemy, was because of the different nature of the potions."
While so potions only healed with basic principles, so unique and high ranking potions sohow had the ability to target the problems throughout the body and heal them simultaneously… sothing that the young Nerissa had found extrely interesting.
"Since most of the things that we use in alchemy co from nature or from the creatures, I went out to learn more about those creatures.
Though, to do that, I needed so strength… which was why I continued studying magic despite dropping out of one of the known academies here in the north."
She had told her about her school life and how it was nothing morable, so she did not tell her more about those tis. Insted, she told Anna about how she joined in as an adventurer and went out in the fields to see and et the creatures.
"I started out with small ones. Though, whenever I ca across a creature, I would always catch them with magic, study them, see if what I read about them in books was right or not, and…"
She hesitated for a mont and looked around herself.
There are so things that we do just out of curiosity and things that do not bother us at all, but to so younger ones, it could be devastating cris.
"Oh, Nessy. You don't have to worry about . You know I won't judge you for whatever you did in the past, right~?"
The bond that these two had deepened quite a bit.
"Right…"
For Anna, finding soone that actually told about things that they had done in their lives, things that they did not need to hide from her to keep her 'safe', things that she could just Request her to tell her, was more than just getting a playmate.
She had a lot of people, creatures, and friends to play with. But soone that told her about what good and bad, right and wrong, cool and boring things they had done in their lifeti… Nerissa was the first one of that.
"Well, so… I also killed a few… a lot of creatures just to extract their body parts. Things that I can get by myself were much better to if I was going to continue making potions, and the other things."
She was a different friend to Anna than the Povpoi or Taika. She was not a family so her grandpa Zhen and the knights always kept an eye on her, and Anna knew that well.
And yet, the reason she trusted her so much, was because of how Nerissa tried her best to teach Anna about things she had never known, because of Miss Nerissa's effects at doing her best at what she needed to as not just a friend, but also a guide.
"I do not think I've done bad things… well, I've done morally questionable things, a lot of it, I've done so bad things as well, but they have made who I am today, so I don't bla myself for All of those things."
Anna was a good listener that listened to her Nessy whenever she was rambling about her past, about things that she did not like, about stuff that she had done, about what she had learned and the terrible mistakes she had made.
As an rank adventurer, she had many stories about the fields, about dungeons, about labyrinths, about graves, and about unimaginable monsters.
She had stories of friendship, of love, of betrayal, and of heartbreaks.
And, she told Anna about all of it, sotis even things that she knew might not be sothing a young child should know of.
Perhaps, that was why…
"You're not a bad person, Nessy! For , you're good! A very good person~!"
"And I'm eternally happy about that."
She liked this person so much despite only being with her for such a short duration.
