Once the Ritual was done and everyone went to bed. I woke up early from the dreamscape. I didn’t get to create any new spells due to the influx of perk points and attribute points. I ultimately invested my points into Th’um skill tree and Stamina. At this point I hardly needed more mana.

I twirled my new pencil in hand and looked over to Sorex. "So? You expression clearly shows sothing happened."

Sorex blinked as he stared at the scrambled eggs I placed in front of him. "Did yo- No, wait. It is obvious you know what that place was. So what was that..."

Viree offered up the already decided on descriptive words. "The Dreamscape?"

Sorex nodded, "Yeah, I couldn’t entirely tell what everything was, but I had a good sense of familiarity." Sorex rubbed the bridge of his nose as he spoke. "I assu you want to know what I saw specifically?"

I shrugged, "More or less, I wanted to see if unlocking soone’s potential could give them the ability to have a greater control over their experience."

Sorex nodded, "Experience. Yeah that feels like an accurate description."

I turned to Viree, "And you?"

She lifted the necklace on her neck. "I was able to see everything clearly thanks to this."

I nodded and began drawing up an outline. "So I have an idea or more of a theory. It basically goes like this, a persons experience is converted into pure ether when they sleep. This pure ether docunts and solidifies their existence. This is why things like Mantling is possible. You take on the docunted experience of another."

Sorex nodded, "Ah, I see what you wanted to know."

I nodded once more, "Viree could already access the dreamscape, this obviously begs the question. Was part of her potential unlocked or did she just gain the ability to see the docuntation of her being."

Sorex raised a hand, "What about those stars? I felt I could invest... uh, points? Into the stars."

I nodded, "Investing a perk point into a skill tree is basically the universe rewarding you for a milestone of skill. Overall with this test, a few important discovers were made. Number one being anyone can view their skill trees. They just need to unlock the potential to do so. This ans I will have to alter so plans and possible predictions."

Sorex rolled his eyes, "What else does this imply?"

I looked up and rubbed my chin. "Well if anyone can unlock the ability to view skill trees. All heroes, champions and other powerful individuals might have been able to optimize themselves. I suppose the best way to double check this is ask the Star Prisoners. I’ll follow up on that later though, the important thing here is what changes between the optimizations."

"There is a good chance that it appears blurry due to the lack of understanding. Only after the individual comprehends what they are seeing or are given so explanation does the dreamscape or whatever beco sothing clear they can taken action to use."

I nodded, Viree made a good point. "So previous powerful figures may not have even known they were accessing so hidden potential. At most they might think they had so oddly specific dreams relating to how they might improve upon their current power."

Sorex nodded, "Which ans any data you collect could be tainted. As you could never know for certain if it was just the individual dreaming or utilizing these skill trees, or at least whatever form they would take."

Sorex was right, this ant the only data I could use was data points already knew. Which was counter productive to what I wanted to know. I sighed and was about to voice my woes. However soone knocked rapidly at the door.

Opening the door I was greeted with a man I didn’t expect. A man dress in Penitus Oculatus attire stood stone faced waiting for . "Ah, what can I help you with?"

The man nodded, "My Commanding Officer requests your presence."

I raised an eyebrow, "Would that be Commander Maro of the Penitus Oculatus?"

The stone faced soldier nodded, "Yes, he wishes to discuss so unexpected business with you."

This was early and the Penitus Oculatus had to have just entered the city. "Is he in the city or still in dragon bridge."

The man paused, but nodded. "He is within the city, are you willing to co?"

I paused and called out behind , "Having a eting, see you later Viree!" I heard Sorex scoff, "What about ?"

I ignored him and nodded to the stone faced man, "Lead the way."

He turned on a di and began marching not to the Castle Dour, but the Blue Palace. Did that an the fake emperor was already here? They should have escorted him by foot while the real Emperor arrives by boat.

This was an unexpected turn in the ti table. As we walked I tried to strike up conversation, "I knew the Penitus Oculatus were traveling, but you seem a little early to arrive here in Solitude."

The soldier gave a nod, but other than that said nothing. I paused and thought about it, "Were you advised to not speak to in the likely chance you are persuaded to reveal information?"

He nodded once more, "That is correct, I hope you can understand."

That was interesting, did the Penitus Oculatus know of my reputation or was this extre cautiousness. I raised my eyebrow as we walked toward the Newly Refurbished Pelagius Wing. As we entered several Penitus Oculatus mbers were idle or on guard.

Eventually I was finally lead to Commander Maro who looked up from schematics of Solitude and all the tunnels. I took note of several tunnels I didn’t recognize and others I didn’t expect them to have. Even the tunnel connected to the East Empire Company was included.

Maro looked up at , "So you are the infamous know it all. I suspect we have much to talk about so if you wish to sit down..."

I frowned at his scrutiny, his offer for to sit was a test. "Harder to stab soone if I am sitting down though."

His face paled, but quickly returned to his natural state. He nodded, "Many like you have been tasked by the Penitus Oculatus in the past. Though in the past we shared different nas and roles. To put it simply, let us put aside the manipulation tactics and discuss how you can help the empire."
