I wondered if I was getting better at reading her when she finally responded.
“I’ll ask Fayin if she knows soone who can handle sales-related business.”
“Really?”
She nodded, and I hugged her.
“You’re the best, Minsto!”
“I am.”
Her cool acknowledgnt was the sa as ever. We weren’t done with our talk, though. After a few monts of close contact, I separated from her and continued.
“When do you think we can have the first products out of the factory? It would be good to open Geola’s shop when we have our selnic items ready to be sold.”
“In five days, if everything goes well. One week if not. I’ll tell you if it gets delayed further than that.”
“Great. Thanks a lot, Minsto. You’re doing an amazing job. By the way, can I have my phone back anyti soon…?”
“No.”
Her imdiate answer told
everything I needed to know. She had taken a great liking to the high technology that my phone was made of. It was her precious treasure now. I hadn’t seen it since I lent it to her back when she was still a new employee.
“Does it even help with your research?”
“It does.”
I sighed. Maybe I should give up on it completely. I didn’t want to, though, since it had features that didn’t exist in the inner world. I tried to give her my most pitiful expression, but she was completely unmoved.
We talked a bit more before concluding the eting. I teleported us to 2 since she had business there, before going on my way with my nurous daily tasks.
The next morning, I made my way to the bunnies’ village. After greeting everyone I ca across as usual, I found myself in the Muyal family’s house.
Zay and Waja hadn’t changed much during the past year. Waja was still the sa gentle and attentive mother, while Zay was the enthusiastic farr, working hard to provide for the family. Most of the changes happened with the children. Kuini went without saying, but even Zoke and Tilen looked different. They had grown a little and gave a slightly more mature feeling. Teenage years were coming soon for them, especially for Zoke, and I sotis saw young bunny girls looking at them with a bit of interest. They were already hard workers, going to the fields every day with their father, and considering the lack of n in the village in the first place, it was no wonder they received so attention. I had no doubt they would break a lot of hearts.
Still, for now, they hadn’t completely lost their childish side. They always rejoiced noisily whenever I brought toys for them and even showed those off to other young bunnies in the villages, making a lot of them envious.
Today, I wanted to announce the good news to this family first, for being the great support and business partners they have been over the past year. I normally only chatted with them for a short ti before going to fetch the food, but decided to stay a bit longer today. Considering Waja’s tendency, anything I revealed now would be known by the end of the day all over the village, so it also saved a lot of ti.
“Ahem… I actually have so news today.”
They all looked at
curiously.
“It just happens that I helped a bit during the epidemic, and, as a reward, I asked if I could get a house in this village. They accepted, and it’s now going to be built. I heard they found a plot of land close to the edge of the village. I’m going to visit it after this.”
My news seed to be very surprising to them, starting with Zay.
“Is that true? I heard Lady Vejas forbid anyone other than bunnies and the soldiers guarding it to live in the village.”
“You’re right about that. She made an exception because I have a good relationship with everyone here.”

“Oh… So that’s what these people have been doing around the village. It’s so rare for strangers who aren’t rchants to co here that it’s beco quite the topic among us.”
The three children were quite excited about the information.
“You’re going to live here, Tila?”
“That’s aweso!”
“I’m… very happy too.”
The last one was from Kuini, who seed like she had heard the best news ever.
“That’s right. I’m probably not going to be in the house that often since I’ll be all over the place, but I’ll still be part of this village. I’m looking forward to living together with you all.”
“Leave it to us!”
“Can I co with you to visit the house?”
“There’s nothing much to see because they’ll start building it from now on, but you’re welco to co check it with .”
“ too…”
“Hahaha, I’d like to co too, but it’s planting season right now, so there’s a lot of work. I’ll co visit later. Kids, don’t stay there too long and co back soon to help, okay?”
“Yes!”
The five of us, the three children, Waja, and I, walked through the village toward the plot of land. I wasn’t certain where it was exactly, but that wasn’t an issue since I could just follow Waja. We soon reached the south-eastern part of the village. A team of non-bunnies people was already near an empty plot of land, talking among themselves.
They sotis carefully glanced at the group of curious bunnies assembled close by, filled with those who liked rumors and constantly shared gossip. The place felt a bit isolated, with only one small house next to the plot of land. The rest was a path to the village center and more fields, surrounding the area.
I noticed that Kuini scowled in the direction of the house when we arrived and wondered if she knew the person who lived there. The group of workers saw
arrive, and, guessing I was the client this ti, ca my way quickly. Waja checked the plot of land before joining the group of bunnies, no doubt aiming to share the fresh news with them.
