Ronia Ackerly had been waiting for Julian Rhodes to return.
Upon learning from the lawyer that Julian had been rescued and was on the plane, her heart settled a bit.
However, until Julian truly appeared in front of her, completely unhard, she would not be at ease.
So, from the mont she knew Julian was on the plane, she had been waiting.
No sleep, no food, no drink.
She waited like this until now.
When she heard a screech from outside, Ronia’s heart tightened, and she imdiately stood up, wanting to walk out quickly.
But, having not eaten for a day and a night, she was relying solely on her willpower. Rising abruptly made her dizzy.
Aria Rhodes had been watching over her the entire ti.
Aria hadn’t been eating much these past two days either, her emotions unsettled as well.
However, she wasn’t worried about Julian; rather, she was excited, thrilled.
She had severed ties with the Rhodes Family na.
Moreover, after naturally breaking this connection, she still held her status and wealth.
Sothing she couldn’t have imagined, even in a dream.
And during the ti waiting for Julian’s return, Aria had thought about countless future plans.
Now that she wasn’t a Rhodes, bearing the na Ackerly, could she step into Celestial Holdings?
Could she get close to him?
She had decided; she wanted to enter Celestial Holdings — it was the best way to get close to him.
Once Julian returned, she would apply for a job at Celestial Holdings.
She couldn’t wait any longer; she had to get close to him.
This excited feeling made Aria eagerly hope for Julian to co back quickly, co back soon, to reassure Mom. Then they could leave Aurelia, while she stayed.
She wanted to do what she desired, and neither Mom nor her brother could stop her.
Moreover, for the sake of the money at hand, and to avoid future trouble, it was best for Mom and her brother to leave Aurelia.
She didn’t want to waste this hard-earned opportunity.
At this mont, upon hearing the distinct screeching of brakes outside, Aria’s rapidly turning thoughts ca to a halt.
Then, in an instant, joy arose in her heart.
Julian had returned.
It must be him.
The lawyer had said, barring any accidents, Julian would be ho in the evening.
She trusted that the Rhodes Family would surely bring Julian back safely.
However, before Aria could move, the person beside her began to stir.
Aria quickly looked at Ronia and saw her swaying form, as if she might collapse at any mont.
Aria hurriedly called out, "Mom!"
She supported Ronia while calling for the servants to help hold her up.
Ronia was clearly on the verge of collapse, almost fainting, but the mont Aria and the servants supported her, her consciousness ca back.
She couldn’t faint; she had to see her Julian, to see if he was alright.
Forcing her eyes open, Ronia insisted on looking outside, weakly saying, "Help ... help outside..."
She couldn’t even speak anymore, her voice very faint, clearly nearing her limit.
Aria, knowing Ronia had been holding herself together, saw that she was close to breaking, so without further ado, she imdiately supported Ronia outside.
But before they could reach the door, Julian appeared in their sight.
Tall and lanky, his face still handso, though he wore the sa clothes from several days that were now wrinkled and sowhat dirty.
As a result, Julian looked much thinner and slightly haggard, lacking his usual carefree flamboyance.
However, to Ronia, none of it mattered.
The important thing was whether Julian was hurt.
Yet, when she saw Julian at that mont, she stood frozen, as if unable to believe it, unable to react for a ti.
She had been hoping for Julian’s return, for him to be safe and sound.
But now, with Julian truly standing safely before her, it felt like a dream.
Afraid to move, fearing it was all her imagination.
Julian, initially intending to leave after stepping out of the car, was escorted ho by those who had brought him back, ensuring he walked inside before stopping.
Upon seeing the person approaching from afar, notably Ronia, her face haggard and pale, as if recovering from a severe illness, her eyes shadowed with dark circles and exhaustion.
Ronia had always been ticulous, especially with her appearance, placing great emphasis on dress and maintenance.
Ordinarily, Ronia looked quite young, appearing at most in her thirties.
In Julian’s eyes, his mother was gentle, kind, beautiful, virtuous, the best mother in the world.
But now, the Ronia in front had none of those beautiful attributes, her hair disheveled, seemingly unkempt for a long ti, her face unwashed, appearing oily.
She had neither cared for her skin nor rested properly; anxiety, concern, and the family upheaval revealed all the previously masked flaws.
Deep nasolabial lines, sagging skin, lost collagen, and pronounced tear troughs made her seem aged by twenty years, her forr gentleness gone.
At this mont, Ronia appeared a weary, middle-aged woman, devoid of the word ’beautiful’.
Julian, initially planning to drive off to settle scores with his troubleso friends after these people left, had a change of heart upon seeing Ronia’s state.
His expression shifted suddenly, imdiately moving forward to support Ronia, looking over her and angrily asking, "Mom, what happened to you? Who did this to you?"
"Did soone bully you? I’ll make them pay!"
Julian was spoiled, yet kind-hearted and very filial.
Seeing Ronia like this filled him with rage.
And hearing Julian’s voice, seeing the person much taller than her, Ronia’s expression finally shifted.
No longer in a daze, she trembled, grasping Julian’s hand, examining him up and down, trembling as she asked, "Julian, my darling, are you hurt?"
"Did those people hit you? Did they hurt you?"
As Ronia asked, tears fell instantly.
Seeing Ronia like this, Julian frowned; he wasn’t stupid, understanding that Ronia was clearly worried about him.
Assuming he had been hard.
He promptly replied, "No, I’m fine!"
"Don’t worry, I won’t let those people off; I’ll definitely find them, make them..."
His words were cut off as Ronia’s body went limp, her strained eyes closing.
Julian’s expression changed drastically; he imdiately held Ronia, loudly calling, "Mom!"
The people who had sent Julian back watched as he t Ronia; one took out their phone, capturing the reunion, quickly sending it to soone, and they turned to leave.
Their task was complete.
anwhile, on Saipan Island.
