The mont their feet touched the soft, dew-kissed grass of Verdant Hollow, Riku felt sothing shift in the air. It wasn’t just the beauty of the valley—it was the sense of potential, of destiny waiting to be written. Birds chirped in the trees, and the air slled clean, untouched by civilization. The Hollow was pristine, wild, and ancient.

Kira stepped beside him, boots crunching slightly against the underbrush. "This place feels alive."

Riku nodded. "It is. The system said it holds ’Mythic Potential.’ I don’t even know what that ans yet."

He opened his system dashboard, scanning the territorial data.

> [Territory: Verdant Hollow] Status: Active Control: Riku Aoyama (Sole Proprietor) Resources: Abundant Flora, Hidden Mineral Veins, Ancient Tree of Insight (Locked) Threat Level: Unknown

He narrowed his eyes at the last part. "Threat level unknown... that can’t be good."

"Guess we’ll find out," Kira said, eyes scanning the thick mist. "Let’s start with the basics. Shelter, water source, and patrol the periter."

They spent the next couple of hours surveying the valley, taking note of a nearby river with crystal-clear water, flat plains ideal for building, and a cluster of strange glowing mushrooms near the tree’s roots. Using the Starter Territory Bundle from his inventory, Riku deployed a small base camp with a simple wooden lodge, basic defenses, and a multi-use workshop.

> [Starter Territory Bundle Activated] [Base Camp Constructed] [Workshop, Resource Depot, and Command Node Established] [Reward: Construction Voucher x1, 150 Points Added]

[New Total Points: 1,400]

Kira wiped sweat from her brow. "Not bad for a few minutes’ work."

"System’s doing the heavy lifting," Riku admitted, chuckling. "But we’ll need to expand this manually if we want it to grow."

Later that day, they sat on the porch of their newly built lodge, a soft wind rustling through the trees. Despite the peaceful setting, Riku couldn’t shake the earlier alert:

> [Optional Mission Detected: Strange Signal Near the Hollow]

Kira brought out a portable scanner she’d borrowed from the workshop. "I think I’ve picked up sothing. There’s a disturbance near the northeast cliff."

Riku nodded. "Let’s go. No reason to wait for trouble to co to us."

They trekked through the winding forest trail, the sun dipping low in the sky. As they reached the cliff’s edge, they found it—a set of strange markings etched into the rocks. Glowing, humming faintly.

Kira crouched near them. "These aren’t natural. Runes?"

Riku’s system chid.

> [Unknown Arcane Signature Detected. Origin: Transdinsional. Possibly Ancient System Artifact. Recomnd Analysis.]

He approached and pressed his hand near the markings. The runes pulsed.

A voice echoed—not aloud, but in his mind.

"You’ve awakened a path ant only for the worthy. The Hollow listens. Will you claim its secret?"

Riku staggered back, stunned. "Kira... I think this place is more than just territory. It’s a test."

Before she could respond, the runes flared, and a surge of energy pulsed from the rock. The mist thickened around them, and the air grew colder.

> [System Alert: Local Anomaly Triggered. Unknown Entity Approaching. Prepare for Battle.]

Kira drew a dagger from her hip. "Guess we’re not the only ones here."

From the shadows of the trees, a beast erged. Towering, plated in blackened bark and stone, its eyes glowed with primal fury. It roared, shaking the earth beneath them.

> [Identified: Verdant Hollow Guardian – Corrupted State] [Level: 22 | Threat Level: High]

Riku instinctively pulled out his Shadowsteel Dagger and activated Danger Sense.

"Kira, flank it. I’ll try to distract it."

They moved in sync, the synergy from their bond apparent. Kira slashed at the beast’s leg, drawing its attention for a split second—long enough for Riku to drive his dagger into a joint in its bark armor. The Guardian howled, slamming its massive arm into the ground. The shockwave sent Riku tumbling.

> [HP: -25%]

He coughed, scrambling to his feet. "System, give sothing—anything!"

> [Ergency Use: Random Coupon Redeed] [Item Obtained: Thunderstep Elixir – Grants Speed Surge and Shock Damage for 30 Seconds]

He chugged the elixir, lightning coursing through his limbs. With a blur of motion, he dashed at the beast, delivering a flurry of electrified strikes. The Guardian reeled.

Kira leaped onto its back, driving her dagger into a vulnerable spot.

With a final coordinated strike, they brought the beast crashing to the ground.

> [Victory! Verdant Guardian Defeated.] [Reward: Core of Verdant Power, 200 Points, Territory Stability Increased.] [New Points Total: 1,600]

Riku panted, wiping blood from his lip. "That... was intense."

Kira grinned. "We make a good team."

They collected the core, its green glow pulsing with life. Riku could feel its energy binding to the land.

As they walked back to camp under the rising moonlight, a quiet sense of victory settled between them.

But in the depths of the Hollow, sothing else stirred—watching, calculating.

The Verdant Hollow was his now. But it had secrets yet to be unearthed.

And Riku Aoyama’s journey was just beginning.
