The atmosphere inside Awakening Hall One was noticeably different from a normal school assembly. Nobody was talking loudly or at their phones. Even the students who usually spent every class causing trouble sat quietly in their seats.
For most people, today would determine the direction of the rest of their lives.
Rohan sat among hundreds of final-year students while staring at the crystal positioned on the stage.
He had short, rough mahogany bangs, light skin, and sharp red eyes.
The crystal itself wasn’t particularly impressive. It was a simple translucent pillar covered in faint silver markings.
Yet everyone in the hall knew that object had the power to separate futures.
Around the world, people awakened between the ages of sixteen and eighteen.
Those who successfully awakened a Class entered a completely different world.
They could beco Hunters, Guild mbers, Explorers, Researchers, rchants, Crafters, and countless other professions connected to the System and also gain access to Frontier Realm.
Those who failed would live normal lives. There was nothing wrong with that. Modern society still needed teachers, doctors, engineers, and office workers.
The problem was that almost nobody sitting in this hall wanted an ordinary future.
"You’re staring at it like it’ll awaken before they call your na."
Rohan turned toward the girl sitting beside him.
Mia was looking at him with an amused expression.
Her long black hair was tied behind her head, and unlike most students, she looked surprisingly relaxed.
"I could say the sa thing about you," Rohan replied.
"I’m calm." Mia retorted.
"You checked the crystal six tis in the last minute."
"Stop paying attention to ." Mia clicked her tongue.
Rohan laughed. The nervousness in his chest eased slightly.
He and Mia had known each other for years. Most people expected them to start dating eventually although neither of them had ever bothered addressing the rumors.
The hall gradually quieted as several adults entered from a side door. Unlike the teachers, these individuals wore expensive suits or guild uniforms.
Imdiately, whispers spread throughout the crowd.
"The guilds are here."
"Look over there."
"That’s a recruitnt manager."
"There’s one from Titan Guild."
"No way."
Rohan’s attention shifted.
Nearly twenty representatives had arrived. So belonged to local guilds. Others represented major organizations with branches across multiple cities.
They weren’t here for the average students. They were here to find talent. A capable Class could change soone’s life overnight.
The principal eventually stepped onto the stage.
The conversations died instantly.
"Good morning, students." His voice echoed through the hall.
"Today marks the final awakening ceremony for your generation. Most of you already understand the importance of this mont, so I won’t waste ti repeating what you’ve heard throughout your school years."
A few nervous laughs spread through the crowd.
The principal smiled slightly.
"Place your hand on the crystal when called. If your Class awakens, the System will reveal it imdiately. If it doesn’t, don’t panic. Many successful people live perfectly normal lives without becoming Hunters."
Nobody looked particularly convinced.
The principal sighed. "Very well. Let’s begin."
The ceremony started. One student after another walked toward the crystal.
So failed. Others succeeded.
Each result generated a different reaction.
anwhile, several students returned to their seats with disappointed expressions after failing to awaken anything while others had wide smiles on their faces.
Rohan watched everything carefully.
The guild representatives did the sa.
Whenever a noteworthy Class appeared, they imdiately wrote sothing down. A few even exchanged business cards with students before they returned to their seats.
The process continued for nearly an hour.
Then a na echoed through the hall.
"Mia Hart."
Rohan glanced toward her.
Mia stood from her seat. For the first ti all morning, he noticed genuine tension in her expression.
"You’ll be fine," he said.
Mia didn’t reply and just grinned before walking toward the stage.
Hundreds of students watched her approach the crystal. She stopped before it and placed her hand against its surface.
Nothing happened for a second. Then icy blue light suddenly erupted from the crystal, brightening the entire hall.
A translucent snowflake appeared above Mia’s head.
Several teachers imdiately sat up straighter.
A notification appeared on the large screen behind the stage.
[Frost Weaver]
[Class Rank: Rare]
The hall exploded into applause.
A Rare Class!
Even among successful awakeners, Rare Classes were uncommon. One could guess that’s why the System called them Rare Classes.
The guild representatives beca visibly interested. Several imdiately began writing notes.
The principal smiled broadly.
"Congratulations, Mia. Frost Weaver is an exceptional support-combat hybrid Class."
Mia looked relieved.
She returned to her seat while trying not to smile too much which was a failed attempt.
Rohan had known her too long so he could see how happy she was.
"Rare Class." He muttered also happy for her.
She sat down beside him, her whole body beaming with happiness.
"I’m kind of amazing." She said confidently.
"Kind of?" Rohan teased.
"Okay, extrely amazing." Mia laughed.
Before Rohan could respond, another na was called. By the ti the ceremony had passed nearly two hours only a handful of students remained.
Rohan felt his heartbeat slowly increase. The closer his turn approached, the more his mind raced.
"Rohan Effiel." The principal called out.
As he stood up, Mia lightly punched his shoulder. "Don’t embarrass ."
"I’ll do my best." He nodded.
"You have one job."
Rohan shook his head and started walking. For a brief mont, Rohan could feel every pair of eyes focused on him.
Rohan stepped onto the stage while feeling the weight of hundreds of eyes following his movents. The journey from his seat to the awakening crystal wasn’t particularly long, but under the current circumstances it felt much longer than usual. Students, teachers and the guild representatives maintained their attention on the stage in anticipation.
For many of them, this ceremony was little more than another yearly event. For the students, however, the outco would influence the rest of their lives. Rohan eventually stopped before the crystal and stared at its translucent surface for a brief mont before placing his hand against it.
The crystal felt cool beneath his palm. At first, nothing happened. A few seconds passed without any reaction, causing a small amount of tension to build inside him. He knew the delay wasn’t unusual, but that knowledge did little to calm his thoughts.
Around the hall, the silence gradually deepened as everyone waited for a result. Then, without warning, silver light erupted from the crystal and flooded the stage. The sudden brightness forced many students to shield their eyes, while several teachers imdiately rose from their seats. Unlike the awakenings that had taken place earlier, the light showed no signs of stopping and instead continued growing stronger with each passing second.
A System notification appeared before Rohan’s eyes, imdiately drawing his attention away from the increasingly shocked reactions around him.
[Class Awakening Successful.]
[Class Identified.]
[Legendary Class Detected.]
The atmosphere inside the hall changed instantly. Conversations erupted across the crowd as students struggled to process what they had just seen. A Legendary Class was sothing most people only encountered through history books, docuntaries, or news reports covering the world’s strongest Awakeners.
Even the guild representatives who had remained calm throughout the ceremony could no longer maintain their composure. Several stood from their seats while others quickly contacted their organizations. If a Legendary Class holder appeared in a city, every major guild would want information as quickly as possible.
Rohan barely noticed any of it. His focus remained fixed on the notifications appearing before him. The first window disappeared and another imdiately took its place, finally revealing the na of the Class responsible for the unprecedented reaction.
[Class Assigned.]
[Infinite Sharing]
The na ant absolutely nothing to him. Despite years spent studying famous Classes and historical awakeners, he couldn’t rember ever hearing those words before. Before he could think further, additional information appeared beneath the Class na.
[Infinite Sharing]
[Rank: Legendary]
[Core Ability: Storage]
[Core Ability: Sharing]
[Core Ability: Network Bond]
[Current Network mbers: 1]
[User Identified.]
A slight frown ford on Rohan’s face as he read through the information. The descriptions raised far more questions than answers. Storage, Sharing, and Network Bond sounded important, but they explained very little regarding the actual capabilities of the Class. The ntion of a network was particularly strange.
Most Classes focused on direct combat, support, crafting, or specialized professions. Nothing about Infinite Sharing appeared normal. Unfortunately, before he could investigate further, the silver light surrounding the crystal gradually faded and the attention of the entire hall returned to him.
The silence that followed felt uncomfortable. Nobody appeared to recognize the Class, including the teachers and guild representatives. The principal eventually cleared his throat and offered his congratulations, though the brief pause before saying Rohan’s na made his confusion obvious.
With no further explanation available, Rohan stepped away from the crystal and returned to his seat beside Mia. The mont he sat down, she leaned slightly closer while trying to keep her voice low enough that nearby students wouldn’t overhear.
"What does it do?"
Rohan shook his head. "No idea."
Mia stared at him for several seconds before narrowing her eyes. "You’re telling you awakened a Legendary Class and don’t know what it does?"
"I know the na," Rohan replied. "Beyond that, the System hasn’t been very helpful."
His answer only seed to deepen her curiosity, but before she could continue questioning him, the ceremony resud and another student was called forward. The awakening process continued until every remaining student had received their result, though it was obvious that most of the hall remained distracted by the appearance of a previously unknown Legendary Class.
