With the various components of the Hard Body Talent rged and the Demon destroyed, William could now focus on upgrading his other Talents. He scrolled through the System Panel until he found the Regeneration Talent, opening the information to view its rank up requirents.

———

Regeneration (Common): (X)

Next rank up: Refine and consu one Blood Bead.

———

A Blood Bead? That's it? I'd ask how to get one, but I think this has answered the question for . William thought as he looked at the Blood Bead in his hand.

It made sense, technically, but William was used to the Potential Points requirent when raising his Talents.

Without even asking a question, the System answered for him.

-Ascending a Talent requires more than just energy. Even I cannot do so easily, and avoiding this thod would cost too many Potential Points than you have even now.

I see... William thought, but he was focused on one piece of information that the System seed to have given out for free.

Ascending a Talent... It's more than just a simple upgrade.

But that left William in a dilemma. If he Ascends the Regeneration Talent now, the requirents to Ascend the Rejuvenation and Vitality Talents might be sothing he couldn't afford.

The inverse could be the sa, however. It was very likely that the rged Talents would result in sothing of higher Rarity, and that would probably increase the overall cost of Ascending his Talent. He was in a stalemate.

It's either I Ascend the Regeneration Talent and risk not being able to rge the other two, or I rge them now and possibly have to wait and Ascend the new rged Talent later. What should I do...

The System didn't help William with this, electing to give him the freedom to decide.

After a long mont of deliberation, William decided to go for the latter option, asking the System to upgrade the Vitality and Rejuvenation Talents to X-Rank. If the cost to Ascend the Talent went up, so be it.

The upgrades were almost instantaneous, but William didn't feel much different than before. Other than surging with energy, William wouldn't have known what had changed if not for his Status Panel.

———

STATUS: ( - )

-Health: 480000/480000

-Mana: 1420/6800

-Fa: 145

-Humanity: 57

-Attention: 23

-Soul Strength: 1250

-Cultivation Base: 1999611/2000000

———

"Ha-Half a million Health?!?" William shouted out in surprise. If he rembered correctly, his previous Health was only five thousand. How had it gone up so much?

He scrolled through the System notifications until he found the culprit: the Vitality Talent.

———

Vitality (Common): (SSR --> X)

Effects: Maximum Health increased by 2400% >> 9600%

X-Rank Bonus Effects:

-Revitalizing: Your stamina recovery is doubled when out of combat.

Next rank up: Refine and consu one Blood Bead.

———

96 tis my original Health... how much will it be when I'm a Tribulation Transcendence Cultivator?

He looked at the Rejuvenation Talent next while his Talents rged, but it was pretty bare bones for being X-Rank.

———

Rejuvenation (Common): (SSR --> X)

Effects: Cell recovery increased by 2400% >> 9600%

X-Rank Bonus Effects:

-Cell Restoration: If the Host takes no physical damage for a period of one month, cells that are damaged from routine aging effects will slowly recover by one year.

Next rank up: Refine and consu one Blood Bead.

———

I need to not use my natural regeneration at all for an entire month, just to regain one year of my lifespan? Am I understanding that correctly, System? William complained.

Considering he just spent over sixty thousand Potential Points on the Rejuvenation Talent alone, he thought he would have a more profound X-Rank bonus effect. It seems that not all Talents are created equal...

How fast even is my cell recovery? What does 96 tis faster recovery even an to ? William wondered. How was this different from Regeneration?

-It depends on the severity of the cell's injury. So could naturally, while others would normally require decades but usually don't even have a chance to recover before the end of one's lifespan.

-To answer your last question, Rejuvenation serves as a supporting Talent to Regeneration, and only targets your cells' DNA.

So, it's basically useless... got it.

-If that's what you want to think, sure.

William shrugged. The System hadn't given him a useless Talent thus far, maybe it would be better when the rging finished.

The System Notification appeared just at that mont, flooding his vision with another wave of information.

-Talents successfully rged. Regeneration, Rejuvenation, and Vitality replaced with Recovery Talent.

———

Recovery (Epic): (X)

Effects:

-Cell recovery increased by 15000%

-Maximum Health increased by 15000%

-Natural healing ability improved by 15000%

-Healing speed improved by 15000%

X-Rank Bonus Effects:

-Revitalizing: Your stamina recovery is tripled when out of combat.

-Cell Restoration: If the Host takes no physical damage for a period of one month, cells that are damaged from routine aging effects will slowly recover by two years.

-Death Defying: Host can recover from almost any physical injury, no matter the severity.

Side Effect: Healing injuries hastens the rate of cell division and will cause the Host to age by one year after healing 960 years' worth of injuries.

Next rank up: Refine and consu one Blood Bead, 1 million Potential Points.

———

-Unlocked your first Epic Physical Talent: 25 PP

It's still X-Rank, but the effects are all fifteen thousand now. Not only that, but the cost to Ascend the Recovery Talent is still manageable! William was happy with his choice to rge the Talents first, otherwise he would have needed to consu a total of three Blood Beads.

Who knew when the next Demon would appear? One year, ten years? He didn't have that long!

Not to ntion...

-Health: 750000/750000

This is absurd! Can I even die at this point? William wondered.

-There's always the risk of death.

William nodded. Golden Girl was able to control Heavenly Tribulations, who knew what else there was above this Realm?

And that's why I need to keep upgrading my Talents. System, upgrade Agility, Dexterity, and Sturdy to X-Rank.

-Upgrading Talents. Please wait...

William pulled out his Spirit Cookware Set and sauteed so asparagus with Mana rice, mushrooms, and Spiritual beef tenderloin, spicing it up to his liking until two warm bowls of food and a leftover pot were prepared.

The pot was set aside for Atticus, who had never flown to William faster in his entire life. The Mythical Rat Snake slithered down from the clouds, his tongue flicking at the air as he slled sothing good coming from William's position.

Chomp!

Atticus lifted the entire pot with his long tail, then used Illusion Magic to make the bottom of the pot temporarily disappear, causing the fresh food to fall into his opened jaws in one go. He smiled with satisfaction, allowing the Spiritual at to deliver its juicy Spirit Qi to his body.

William snorted. "You didn't even taste it! How am I supposed to cook for you if everything disappears in a second?"

Atticus looked down sheepishly, "Ssorry. I can't help it, I'm too big."

William laughed. The Snake had a point, but his reaction was still hilarious.

He finished his two bowls of Spiritual Asparagus Beef Saute and cleaned the dishes with Water Magic before queueing up the Acceleration and Acrobatics Talents to upgrade from SSR to X-Rank.
