The most bluffing thing in that situation was the fact that Rain was accepting the attacks… moreover, the king could feel the corrupt power inside Rain… but it was weakening at an astonishing pace. He trained to control that as well, but Rain was doing countless tis better than him… that was simply impossible.
"What the hell are you?" The king asked.
"I'm the person who always puts the "pro" in procrastination. I'm a rare species of human known as a "caffeine-powered life form," Rain said. "I'm the one who can recite the entire nu of a fast-food restaurant from mory but can't rember where I left my keys. I'm a professional over-thinker and an amateur pun enthusiast.
I'm the human version of a "404 error" – unpredictable and often misunderstood. I'm the living proof that multitasking is just a myth. I can't even drink coffee and talk at the sa ti without spilling sothing."
"... Again, how do you and Nigel not get along?" Elisabetha asked.
Rain's jokes confused and paralyzed the enemy for a mont, thanks to the power of the jokester's path. He hadn't planned that, but Rain used that chance to step in and punch the king with all his might. He was sent flying and spiraling to the other side of the chamber and had his body almost smashed by the impact.
"That was good for stress relief," Rain said and then took a deep breath. "I also need so ti more to heal my wounds."
"Should you say that actually out loud?" Elisabetha asked.
"It is fine. He doesn't know the reason why," Rain shrugged.
Rain wasn't the best healer, but he was the second best… wounds of that level he should heal in a couple of minutes, but they were taking longer thanks to the corrupt nature of the attacks. At the sa ti, he wasn't getting influenced like he should have been because he unlocked all the paths of the seven deadly sins… and since they were skills now and paths…
Level 70: Skill Reset - This allows the reset of so skills and uses the experience to level up other skills.
Because of that, he could reset them and make them lose their power… at the sa ti, he used that experience to level up the skills of the virtue paths that counter those effects, making him even more resistant to them…
"Living the life of a tree truly made think a lot more and more efficiently," Rain said. "My intellect is like a horror movie – it terrifies , and I can't look away. My intelligence is so intimidating. Even my calculator asks for permission before giving math results."
"You never stop, do you?" Elisabetha asked.
The answer to that question was obvious… Regardless, they no longer had any ti for talking since the enemy finally gave up. Half of his face had been smashed, and while he could heal himself with his shadow magic, he didn't do that… he was completely pissed and decided to use all of his power in the next mont.
All of the flying shadow blades began to spin violently, and the sound of their movents was insane… it made everyone's ears hurt to the point that blood began to leave them. Rain was planning to enjoy himself a bit more, but it was ti to say goodbye to that asshole… at least part of him.
Rain swiftly contracted the size of his domain to the bare minimum. In a mont of intense focus, he activated both Limit Breaker and Magic Boost, pushing his abilities to their absolute limits. The air around him crackled with energy as he burned through his mana reservoir at an alarming rate.
Unlike his previous tactics of using lightning magic to enhance his speed, Rain opted for a different approach this ti. With a determined glint in his eyes, he utilized his remaining mana to alter the very properties of his domain. It was a risky move, one that required precise control and mastery over his abilities.
With the adjustnts made, Rain charged forward with a single, powerful Impulse. The king seized the opportunity and unleashed a barrage of spinning shadow blades, aiming to pierce Rain's body and inflict grievous wounds.
The shadow blades struck true, piercing Rain's form and leaving visible wounds in their wake. However, the relentless onslaught didn't stop him. One by one, the shadow blades disappeared, vanishing into nothingness. Simultaneously, Rain's wounds began to close and heal almost imdiately, leaving no trace of the damage inflicted just monts ago.
The projectiles were targeting the others as well, making the shields shatter in a matter of monts, but soon, the king in the shadows stopped focusing on them and used all of his power to stop Rain… his speed lowered to the point that Rain was stopped, pierces of flesh and blood gushed on the ground as he disappeared after being endlessly hit by the near infinite barrage of projectiles for several seconds… Still, eventually, the attacks ended, and Rain was found still standing…
Most of his skin had been cut off, but the glint in his eyes didn't change at all… the king in the shadows couldn't help but flinch while taking several steps away from him.
"You monster…" The king said.
"That is the kind of complint I don't receive very often…" Rain said. "See ya later, jackass."
Rain used Impulse once more and then pierced the heart of the king in the shadows, who was completely vulnerable without mana. He agonized for several seconds while holding Rain's arm, but he eventually stopped moving. Rain eventually felt a force pulling him from the chamber and pulled his arm… while holding a small red sphere in his hand.
In the next mont, Rain and his team were engulfed by light and then were teleported elsewhere. When they opened their eyes, they couldn't help but flinch at the craziness of the situation… they were… in the middle of a battlefield.
