As Arthur stepped onto the roof, he saw... nothing.
No bed. No bodies. Not even a portal.
"What the hell?"
He was sure Kelvin had co here.
Arthur glanced around, trying to pick up even a faint trace of the bastard, but there was nothing.
"...Strange."
It was definitely strange that even his eyes couldn’t detect anything.
Arthur closed his eyes for a mont and activated both the Demonic Dragon God Authority and Ultra Instinct simultaneously.
His eyes, which had begun glowing bright golden, shifted to moonlight grey tinged with pale blue.
Arthur looked ahead, toward the edge of the rooftop, and there it was: a rift in space.
’It seems to be sealed.’
He smiled and activated his space affinity.
In an instant, he vanished, tearing through the rift’s seal and erging on the other side.
It was just as he expected.
Beds and test tubes were scattered across the room like classroom desks.
Syringes... and that nauseating stench of sickness and death.
As Arthur’s gaze shifted toward the end of the room, it darkened, turning unimaginably cold.
Kelvin lay on a bed just a few ters away, on top of Eira, trying to force himself on her as she scread.
Strangely, Arthur couldn’t hear anything, proof of how prepared Kelvin had been.
It had crossed Arthur’s mind countless tis.
What exactly did the ones who took Eira want with her?
And the answer was always painfully clear.
To use her for dual cultivation.
The World Tree was a source of life, and since its spirit rarely ever fell in love, no one had managed to reap its full blessings.
But when people discovered that the reason elves were so in tune with nature and power was due to the World Tree’s love for them, everyone began to covet it.
Even if it ant defying it and stealing that power through force and cultivation rituals.
But that had always been impossible. Elves would never allow it.
Now, however, with a conscious offspring born, people would inevitably co for her.
And that was why Arthur wanted to save Eira, no matter what.
She had saved him countless tis during his gaplay, and when he discovered her tragic backstory, one no one else in the world knew, he had nearly cried.
At that ti, no one ca to save her when a group of n defiled her, but this ti was different.
Arthur took a step forward as Kelvin stumbled off the bed.
"Disgusting scum like you have no right to live."
Kelvin trembled briefly, then suddenly smirked.
Arthur already knew the cliché plotline. Anyone who didn’t couldn’t call themselves an otaku.
With speed faster than the eye could trace, Arthur split the monstrous creature forming behind him in two.
Kelvin, seeing this, turned and ran, but Arthur didn’t chase him.
Instead, he approached the bed and gently raised his hand.
Eira flinched, her face hidden behind her arms, trembling visibly.
But the warmth of his hand patting her head made her slowly look up at him.
Though her vision wasn’t as refined as the Saintess eyes, she could still tell whether soone was good or evil, and see the colors surrounding them.
To her, all races were the sa:
Disgusting. Filthy. And surrounded by dark, twisted hues.
But this man, the man before her,
Was beautiful.
Not his face, nor his body, but the colors that enveloped him.
Arthur smiled warmly. "You must’ve been through a lot."
Eira didn’t know why, but for the first ti in her life, she cried.
She cried so hard she could no longer feel her own eyes.
Questions upon questions rushed through her mind.
Is this man the sa as the others?
Can I live a normal life now?
Can I finally see the beautiful colors of the world?
Those questions stacked one after another, but one feeling in her heart answered them all.
Butterflies? Maybe.
Or perhaps sothing deeper.
But she was certain of it.
It was a feeling she’d never experienced before and one she never wanted to let go of.
Arthur removed his cloak and handed it to her.
As he turned to go after Kelvin, she reached out and clutched his sleeve.
"Where... where are you going? Are you leaving ?"
Arthur looked back at her. "I need to catch the bad guys."
Eira shook her head, her golden eyes eting his. "Can I go with you?"
Arthur couldn’t say no.
Yes, the man with a soft spot for adorable things had fallen in love again.
He crouched slightly and offered her a piggyback ride.
Eira’s face lit up, like she hadn’t just lived through a nightmare monts ago.
Arthur didn’t know why she trusted him so quickly.
But as she climbed onto his back and her soft green hair brushed against his neck, he understood.
He’d gained another inseparable companion.
Ding!
『 You have earned a new Infinite Lover 』
---
Arthur carried Eira on his back as he ran through the city streets until he finally caught up to Kelvin.
For a final boss, Kelvin was pathetic.
It seed his true strength, the chiras, hadn’t been given enough ti to awaken.
But it was none of his concern.
Arthur gave Eira the opportunity to take her revenge, letting her destroy the chiras still in the tubes, but only the ones confird to lack human or elf blood.
She was still innocent, and he didn’t want her to stain her hands.
As her protector now, he would bear the weight of blood for her.
After the battle, Eira quickly bonded with several of the rcenaries, and surprisingly, her relationship with Arthur’s other wives blossod, as though she’d known them all her life.
Though her eyes always seed to drift towards him each ti he passed.
Arthur used the downti while his wives chatted to clean up the streets and help the won of the inn, who had previously been exploited by Kelvin’s n, rebuild their lives.
Within a week, life returned to Falmouth, and it was as though nothing tragic had ever occurred.
To the people, there was only one na on their lips.
Only one hero they revered.
And his words soon echoed throughout every corner of the city:
"I am Arthur Val Arcain, son of Queen Alicia Arcain.
Whoever dares raise their blade against or my people shall be frozen beneath the eternal frost of the North."
His words were not just a warning. They were a shield.
A spear.
And a declaration.
A new era had begun.
---
Inside the walls of the Academy, a eting was underway, and only one na lingered on every tongue:
Arthur Arcain.
