When he reopened his eyes, he saw a large golden mirror in front of him. Shining. It had a large golden rune engraved at the top.

Severin’s eyes widened in surprise. "What in the na of Empress is this?" he exclaid. The mirror was definitely not ordinary; that much was clear.

"Hmm, interesting," Rahu said with a smile as he looked at the mirror. Without turning, he addressed Severin.

"Go, stand in front of that mirror."

Severin’s face turned strange, but he nodded nonetheless. Taking a deep breath, he stepped towards the mirror.

Just as he was about to close in, he heard Rahu’s voice. "Rember this is the Radiant Monarch God’s tower we are inside."

"Huh? What does he an by that?" But before he could ask any questions. His vision darkened.

Darkness swallowed everything.

When he regained his vision, there was nothing...no ground beneath his feet, no sky above his head. There was just an endless void. It was silent and oppressive. Suddenly, a chill ran down his spine.

"What is your goal?"

An ancient voice echoed from almost everywhere; it was eerie and bright at the sa ti. Severin felt his breath hitch; his heart pounded hard in his chest.

Goal? Was it asking my aim...or my objective?

Nonetheless, he still answered the question, "To rule over the Holy Sun Continent!"

His voice thundered, echoing in the endless void.

The darkness remained silent for a mont before speaking.

"...What is your belief?"

Huh? What sort of question was that? The Holy Sun continent didn’t have any gods or higher realm entities ruling over it? So, how was he supposed to answer the question?

Just as he was about to say, the empress—he paused. Recalling Rahu’s previous words. And suddenly his eyes widened in realisation!

"...Radiant Monarch God! He is my belief! I have co here to inherit his legacy!"

Severn spoke, his tone sounding full of conviction.

The darkness went silent once again; this ti, it was longer. Severin waited for a response, a bit worried and nervous. Seconds stretched into minutes, which in turn stretched into hours. Finally, after twelve whole hours, the darkness once again twisted.

"...Authorization confird."

The voice carried no emotion...almost robotic. It continued after pausing.

"Contender Severin. Assessnt complete."

A brief pause followed, heavy enough to make his heart pound heavily.

"Operational constraints adjusted. Trial difficulty reduced by fifty percent."

The voice vanished, and in front of Severin. A gate materialised, it was shining, and the asurent of it perfectly suited Severin’s height.

"No way...I–I cleared it?" Severin spoke in an incredulous voice. Was it supposed to be that easy?

There were just two questions, asking about his goal and his belief. Nothing else. But soon, he shook his head as a small smile spread across his handso face.

"Well, I have passed...that’s all that matters." With a confident smirk, he stepped forward, entering the gate.

The sa darkness overtook him once again when he reopened his eyes. He was once again in the realm of light. The sa one, when they all had appeared, when they had entered the tower.

"Ughh! Just how many more trials does this damn tower even have?" Sevrin cursed. But then, he heard a playful voice.

"You sure took your ti there. I have been waiting for almost 15 hours, you know?"

Turning his head, he saw Rahu standing there, still as carefree as always. His eyes twitched when he heard that.

"I answered the questions as quickly as I could. The tower didn’t respond...what else was I supposed to do?" Severin sighed and walked towards Rahu.

"Well...I’d say it’s a skill issue," Rahu snorted with a shit-eating grin on his face.

Sverin’s eyebrows twitched violently at this remark, but he controlled himself. After all, if he fell for Rahu’s ragebait every single ti...he’d have to quit his job as the prince in the coming days. He took a deep breath and spoke.

"By the way, what did you answer?"

Severin asked curiously, after all. He did say that his belief was in the Radiant Monarch God. He didn’t think too much about it at that ti. But this guy? He highly doubted he’d reply the sa.

"? Heh..."

...

A few hours earlier.

Rahu watched Severin disappear. He stood there for a few seconds before a smirk broke out on his face.

With unshakable confidence, he strode towards the mirror. The mont he stood in front of the mirror, the darkness tried to cloud his eyes, but Rahu just waved his hand.

A second later, he appeared in the sa dark void where Severin had been.

"Oh, how nostalgic. I am almost moved to tears," Rahu grinned, his smile stretched unnaturally.

The darkness twisted, and the sa voice echoed in the void once again.

"What is your goal?"

"Supremacy"

"...What is your belief?"

"I, , Myself"

The mont his voice echoed, the darkness trembled and rolled over,

"...Authorization confird."

The voice confird, a large gate slowly began to form in front of him.

"Operational constraints adjusted. Trial difficulty increased by fifty percent."

"How cute," Rahu sneered and entered the gate without hesitation.

...All this happened in less than ten seconds.

...

"So? What did you answer?" Severin asked, seeing that he didn’t reply for a second.

"None of your business. Now, let’s go. The entrance to the next trial is that way," Rahu spoke and stepped towards Severin.

Severin snorted and began to follow him, but suddenly he halted, "Next trial? But what about this one...the one where we are standing right now?" Severin asked in confusion.

"Duh, of course I killed them all. There were so pesky fireflies buzzing around."

...

The sa room of mirrors, where Rahu and Severin had entered from. Three won materialised.

"Huh? Azaria...Zira? You guys are here too?" Seris spoke in a tone filled with surprise.

"...Sreris?" Azaria raised her brows in surprise. Zira tilted her head in confusion.

"How did we end up here at the sa ti? Does the next trial require a group to finish it?" Zira asked curiously, her eyes landed on the giant mirror in the room.

"I guess, well, there’s only one way to figure this out."

The three of them walked towards the mirror...and puff. And just as Rahu, darkness enveloped them.
