anwhile, back in the Moonshade mansion.

After Ethan left, both Evelyn and Everly stepped inside, but their minds were still racing.

The mont had co and gone so quickly, but it left a permanent mark.

He didn’t kiss their cheeks.

He kissed their lips.

Their first kiss.

Neither of them spoke as the door clicked shut behind them. They stood in the entryway, bags at their feet, shoes still on, hearts pounding like they’d just run a marathon barefoot.

Evelyn pressed her fingers gently against her lips.

Everly’s cheeks were already glowing pink. "It felt like I got hit with a million volts..."

Evelyn nodded slowly. "Sa. I didn’t even process it until he was already driving away."

Everly glanced at her. "Do we... freak out?"

Evelyn gave a small, dazed smile. "I don’t think we can. I’m still too stunned to function."

"He really kissed both of us," Everly whispered.

"On the lips."

They stood there in the quiet hallway for another few seconds, just trying to get a grip on reality.

Then Evelyn blinked and finally looked forward.

That’s when they saw her.

Seated gracefully on the main living room couch, her legs crossed, a cup of tea in her hand, and a soft smile on her lips—was the last person they expected to see tonight.

"Mom?"

Elowen Moonshade gave them a warm, loving smile.

"Welco ho, my little angels."

The twins froze for the second ti that night.

Then, without a second thought, both of them dropped their bags and ran forward, tears already building in their eyes.

"Mom!"

They launched into her arms at the sa ti, almost knocking the teacup out of her hand—but she didn’t care.

She caught them both easily, pulling them in close like it had been years since she last held them.

"I missed you," Elowen whispered, her voice soft and full of love. "So much."

Everly hugged her tighter. "You weren’t supposed to be here yet!"

"I couldn’t stay away another day," Elowen said. "I finished what I needed to do. I ca ho."

Evelyn clung to her from the other side, her cheek pressed against her mother’s shoulder. "You really an it? You’re not leaving again?"

Elowen nodded. "I’m here until you leave for college. Every day, every night. I promise."

Tears fell silently from both girls, but neither of them sobbed. It wasn’t the kind of crying that ca from pain.

It was tears of relief and happiness to be able to see her again.

The three of them stayed that way for a while, a perfect picture of the family finally whole again.

Eventually, Elowen pulled back just enough to look at them both.

"You’ve gotten taller again."

"You said that last ti," Everly mumbled, wiping her face.

"And I’ll keep saying it every ti you grow," Elowen chuckled.

She brushed their hair back gently and looked at them with pride. "Both of you look stronger than ever. I can feel it."

"You sure it’s not just the lighting?" Evelyn joked weakly.

Elowen smiled. "Even in the dark, I’d know."

The girls helped her move her small travel bag to the side, though it was clear she hadn’t co back from a vacation.

She looked composed and powerful—even more so than the last ti they saw her.

As she is the Queen of the Elves.

A title she hadn’t asked for—but earned.

Not everyone knew the full story.

Years ago, before she was queen, before she had daughters, Elowen had been just a powerful elf wandering the world alongside her best friend, Lilith Nocturne.

At first, Elowen didn’t know who Lilith really was. She just thought she was a mysterious wanderer with incredible power and a sharp mind—soone strong, kind, and a little scary when she wanted to be.

Together, they entered a place few dared to explore: the Verdant Vault, a strange, ancient world filled with untad magic and relics from long-lost ages.

And there, hidden among the wild energy, they found it—a single fruit glowing with raw life.

Lilith discovered it first, but when Elowen showed signs of needing it more, Lilith handed it over without hesitation.

No one really knew what the fruit would do. It pulsed with power, but it also felt... unpredictable, as if it would unleash sothing that she could not handle.

But still, Elowen ate it.

The mont she did, her strength multiplied—tenfold. She could feel the magic surge through her, awakening sothing inside her blood.

But that power ca with sothing no one could’ve predicted.

She beca pregnant.

There was no partner. No magic ritual. Just the overwhelming life force of the fruit doing what it was never ant to do—creating life.

Evelyn and Everly were born from that mont.

It was terrifying.

It was impossible.

And it changed everything.

Lilith had stayed by her side the whole ti, protecting her, helping her through the strange pregnancy, and even holding the twins before Elowen could open her eyes after giving birth.

And during that ti, as Lilith continued to help her, Elowen slowly began to realize the truth.

That her best friend wasn’t just powerful... she was the Succubus Queen. The one people whispered about in fear and awe.

But to Elowen, she was still just Lilith. The woman who gave her the fruit stayed by her side when she needed it most and never once asked for anything in return.

Then, when war broke out in the elven realm and their throne was taken by a tyrant, Elowen had to go.

She left the twins with Lilith, trusting no one else in the world to keep them safe.

And while Lilith raised them like her own, Elowen fought tooth and nail for their rightful ho—Elvaria, the planet of the elves, stolen long ago after a sacred match lost to the orc clans.

Back then, Ethan, Evelyn, and Everly pretty much lived in each other’s pockets. With their moms busy or away most of the ti, the three of them were left to their own adventures.

They played tag through the halls, tried (and failed) to bake cookies, and got scolded equally by Lilith for sneaking into rooms they weren’t supposed to.

They grew up like siblings but sohow even closer—sharing everything from late-night talks to training sessions in the yard. It was ssy, fun, and full of mories.
