After a brief silence, Xie Linchuan said wearily, “Dad, I’ll handle this matter properly.”

Old Master Xie added, “Alright, they’re here to keep this old man company, not to be scolded by you.”
“Co, let take a look at Sui Sui,” Old Master Xie said as he stood up.
Xie Yanchuan quickly carried Sui Sui over to make it easier for Old Master Xie to see the child.
Sui Sui was already two months old, plump and white, with long eyelashes and big eyes, looking as adorable as a doll.
Old Master Xie couldn’t help but coo over the child, and when he reached out to tease Sui Sui, the baby smiled so sweetly that it just lted one’s heart.
The atmosphere eased slightly, but no matter what, this had nothing to do with Xu Jinzhi and her family.
After dinner, the family sat together for a while longer, discussing matters related to Xie Xingchuan.
In reality, it wasn’t much of a discussion; Xu Jinzhi and the others were just listening.
He Shuying was not a domineering person. In fact, she even seed sowhat indifferent to emotions. Often she adopted an attitude of detachnt, as if these matters did not concern her.
But when it ca to Xie Xingchuan’s issues, He Shuying was always the decision-maker, and no one in the Xie Family could say much about it.

However, Xu Jinzhi didn’t care about that; her concern had always been solely for Xie Yanchuan.
It wasn’t until around nine o’clock that everyone finally left the villa to go ho.
Sui Sui had already fallen asleep in Xie Yanchuan’s arms, and Tuantuan, who had been awake initially, also quickly fell asleep as soon as they got in the car.
Xu Jinzhi and Xie Yanchuan sat in silence, but even in silence, the atmosphere didn’t feel awkward.
After a while, Xu Jinzhi handed her phone to Xie Yanchuan, “Youyou’s family’s hot spring resort is about to open, they’ve invited us to visit.”
Xie Yanchuan just glanced at it casually, then nodded, “When do you want to go?”
Xu Jinzhi pondered for a while, then said sowhat helplessly, “I don’t know.”
Xie Yanchuan caught the helplessness in Xu Jinzhi’s tone and turned to look at her, “As long as it’s planned in advance, I can make ti.”
“Even if both of us have ti, we still have to bring Tuantuan and Sui Sui along,” Xu Jinzhi pursed her lips, “It seems a bit troubleso.”
Xie Yanchuan disagreed with Xu Jinzhi’s view, “Tuantuan has grown up, Sui Sui isn’t in a phase where she can’t be left with others, and we have two aunties at ho who specifically look after the children. How could it be troubleso?”
Xu Jinzhi was stunned. The trouble she ntioned was because if they wanted to bring the children along on an outing, they had to bring the aunties too. With more people, it naturally beca complicated.
They could actually leave without the children. It was her own selfish desire to bring them along, wanting to spend more ti with them.
Xie Yanchuan seed to see through one of Xu Jinzhi’s thoughts and continued, “We hired the aunties precisely to take care of the babies.”
“Besides, we don’t pay them a low wage, and we don’t ask them to do other tasks at ho. So, looking after the babies is simply their responsibility.”
Xie Yanchuan was too embarrassed to say that the two nannies specialising in baby care at ho actually earned a higher salary than he did.
“And,” Xie Yanchuan looked at Xu Jinzhi with a serious expression in his eyes. He said, “I hope that in your heart, you will always be the most important to yourself.”
Xie Yanchuan’s words were sincere, though they might sound a bit selfish. He genuinely hoped that Xu Jinzhi would place herself in the most important position.
Xu Jinzhi looked at Xie Yanchuan, and an odd thought inexplicably crossed her mind. She opened her mouth as if wanting to say sothing, but when she looked at Xie Yanchuan, she couldn’t say anything at all.
After a mont of eye contact, Xu Jinzhi suddenly smiled, “Then let’s find so ti to go out and have fun.”
“Hmm,” Xie Yanchuan nodded in agreent.

By late October, the weather had gradually started to cool down, especially in the mornings and evenings.
Xu Jinzhi had a bit of a cough, so Xie Yanchuan made her so pear soup to soothe her throat and told her to take it to the office.
But when Xu Jinzhi arrived at the office, she happened to run into Xu Zhen coughing as well. She imdiately handed her pear soup to Xu Zhen.

When Xu Jinzhi returned ho, Tuantuan and Sui Sui were already asleep, but Xie Yanchuan had not yet gone to bed and was waiting for her in the living room.
“I’m back,” Xu Jinzhi said warmly.
She wasn’t sure when it had started, but whenever Xu Jinzhi spoke to Xie Yanchuan, her tone had beco gentler, even slightly coquettish.
Xie Yanchuan also gazed at Xu Jinzhi tenderly. Seeing her approaching, he reached out to embrace her.
“Tired?” Xie Yanchuan asked.
Xu Jinzhi shook her head, “Not really, it was just casual chatting.”
Socializing, after all, was just a bunch of people getting together to discuss trivial matters for a few hours, and then resolving the important business at the end.
The two held each other affectionately for a while, and as Xu Jinzhi still didn’t let go of Xie Yanchuan, he asked her, “Do you want to carry you back to the room?”
Xu Jinzhi didn’t respond. She continued to hug Xie Yanchuan, and just when Xie Yanchuan thought she wasn’t going to reply and was about to pick her up, Xu Jinzhi spoke.
Xu Jinzhi asked Xie Yanchuan, “Xie Yanchuan, why haven’t you been going to the lab recently?”
