Chapter 23: Chapter 23 Discussing the Wedding Date Chapter 23: Chapter 23 Discussing the Wedding Date Xu Zhen, though full of reluctance, finally brought out a red paper and handed it to Xu Jinzhi after a brief silence, “Here are a few dates chosen by the master, take a look first.”

Upon hearing this, Xu Jinzhi instantly beca interested, hurriedly reached out to take the paper, and unfolded it right away, “That was fast.”

Xu Jinzhi had asked about it yesterday just to distract her father and didn’t expect that today it would already be figured out and brought to her.

Moreover, Xu Jinzhi thought with her father’s personality, even if he had it figured out, he would have kept it hidden for a while before presenting it; she hadn’t expected him to hand it over so directly.

Unable to help herself, Xu Jinzhi looked up at Xu Zhen, wanting to see his expression at that mont.

Sure enough, Xu Zhen’s face didn’t look too good at the mont. Xu Jinzhi felt amused, stopped looking at Xu Zhen, and lowered her eyes back to the paper in her hands.

At that glance, Xu Jinzhi realized that the only date that coincided with her previous life was the day she married Xie Yanchuan!

Xu Jinzhi couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, feeling a bit of magic at the bottom of her heart—did this an she and Xie Yanchuan were really fated to be together?

Xu Zhen, seeing that Xu Jinzhi had opened the paper, spoke up, “You look at these wedding dates and decide, or shall we wait a couple of days to et with the Xie Family, discuss it together, and then pick a suitable date?”

“Let’s discuss it together,” Xu Jinzhi looked up at Xu Zhen, her tone very calm, but Xu Zhen could hardly ignore the smile curling at the edges of her lips.

Xu Zhen, having no desire to speak further, turned and left the office directly.

Little did he know that as soon as he stepped out, Xu Jinzhi had sent a ssage to Xie Yanchuan.

Xie Yanchuan had previously said he was busy with an experint. But now that the experint had failed, they had to start over and had thus been given a few days off to adjust their mindset.

So, these days, aside from teaching, Xie Yanchuan wasn’t too busy with anything else.

Xu Jinzhi’s ssage was quickly replied to by Xie Yanchuan.

Regarding the wedding date, Xie Yanchuan had no suggestions; it mainly depended on what date the elders from both sides felt was convenient. Once the date was set, he would arrange everything on his side in advance.

So, Xu Jinzhi repeated the sa words, to have a al together over the weekend and discuss the wedding date then.

Actually, seeing the sa date as her previous life, Xu Jinzhi did want to choose that day, as two lifetis shared that date, and she felt it was destined for her to marry Xie Yanchuan!

But after thinking it over, she decided it was better to go through the motions.

In the blink of an eye, Saturday arrived, and Xu Zhen had arranged with Xie Suian to discuss the wedding date that day with both families.

The last ti the two families had t at a hotel, but today they had agreed to et at the Xu residence, a sign of the Xie Family’s regard for the Xu Family.

Even at ho, Xu Jinzhi dressed with care. When Xu Zhen saw her coming downstairs, he couldn’t help but shake his head, feeling that his intelligent and wise daughter had changed!

But Xu Zhen didn’t say anything in the end; he was quite stubborn, always second-guessing himself, but all his concerns stemd from worry about Xu Jinzhi not being well off.

If there were no feelings between them at all, that too would be troubleso.

So, no matter which option was chosen, there would be good and bad sides; all he could do was to choose the best possible path for Xu Jinzhi to take.

As it neared five o’clock, the villa security called to say that visitors had arrived; Xu Jinzhi and Xu Zhen knew it was the Xie Family and got ready to greet them at the door.

No sooner had father and daughter arrived at the villa entrance than they heard the sound of a car approaching.

The Xie Family, young and old, had all co, driving in two cars to the Xu residence. From a distance, Xu Jinzhi spotted Xie Yanchuan driving the front car and, where Xu Zhen couldn’t see, waved at Xie Yanchuan.

In the sa car as Xie Yanchuan, aside from Old Master Xie, there was also Xie Xingchuan. Upon seeing Xu Jinzhi’s little wave, Xie Xingchuan couldn’t help but mutter, “Aren’t they saying my sister-in-law is a strong businesswoman? Why does she look sillier every ti I see her?”

“Nonsense!” Old Master Xie scolded.

Unconvinced, Xie Xingchuan retorted softly, “It’s true. I’ve only seen her twice, and both tis she was making eyes at my brother, laughing like a lovesick fool.”

“Shut your mouth!” scolded Old Master Xie, too lazy to explain to the silly boy.

Xie Yanchuan parked the car and looked at Xie Xingchuan, wanting to tell him not to talk about Xu Jinzhi like that anymore, but Xie Xingchuan wasn’t even looking at him and had already opened the door and gotten out.

So Xie Yanchuan had no choice but to swallow his words and get out of the car too.

When the two families t, they exchanged pleasantries as usual before entering the villa.

Xu Jinzhi once again lagged behind and walked beside Xie Yanchuan, asking softly, “Do you notice anything different about today?”

Xie Yanchuan turned his head to look at Xu Jinzhi, seriously examining her for a while before saying uncertainly, “Did you put on makeup?”

Xu Jinzhi fought the urge to roll her eyes. In her previous life, Xie Yanchuan had seen her without makeup, but that was after they were married. In this life, when had she ever not worn makeup when eting Xie Yanchuan?

To say such a thing only proved Xie Yanchuan hadn’t noticed.

What she really wanted was for Xie Yanchuan to notice the new necklace she bought.

But it wasn’t a big deal that Xie Yanchuan hadn’t noticed. After all, she was just looking for a topic to casually chat with him about.

It wasn’t quite ti for dinner yet; everyone sat down in the living room. After a few pleasantries, they began discussing the wedding date.

Xu Jinzhi didn’t participate much, as according to what they agreed in her previous life, it should still end up being the date they married last ti.

However, sohow the topic shifted to her, and Xie Suian asked, “Jinzhi, what date do you think is best?”

Everyone looked at Xu Jinzhi, and, logically, since the Xie Family was placing such respect on her opinion, she should have been happy. But at the mont, Xu Jinzhi really did not feel too cheerful.

Because they hadn’t considered asking Xie Yanchuan at all, even though he was one of the parties involved.

And it wasn’t just that they didn’t care about his opinion; he himself seed not to mind, just waiting for Xu Jinzhi’s answer.
