-Jin — Stormline Serpent

Opponent: Thunderflash Raptor (Approx. 570 years old)A bipedal, feathered raptor pulsing with crackling arcs of lightning. It screeched and vanished in a blur of static.

Jin's serpent spirit hissed at his shoulder, coiling with anticipation.

He smiled. "Let's dance."

The raptor reappeared behind him, claws raised. Jin twisted midair — lightning lacing through his back.

"Pulse Step!"

He vanished — reappearing beside the beast.

"Serpent Lunge!"

A jab crackled into its ribs. The beast screeched and countered, raking across his side.

Blood spattered — but Jin didn't stop.

Lightning roared from his core.

"Thunderlash Spiral!"

He spun, striking five tis in rapid succession — a spiral combo ending in a palm thrust to the chest.

The raptor collapsed in a twitching heap.

- Su — Verdant Rootcaller

Opponent: Earthvine Armadillo (Approx. 560 years old)A burly, shell-covered beast with living moss and roots growing on its back. It charged low, fast despite its size.

Su stood still, eyes closed. Her hands touched the earth.

"Verdant Sense."

The ground told her everything. She shifted just before the creature erged from beneath.

"Root Barricade."

A wall of thick roots surged upward, blocking the armadillo mid-charge. It rebounded — and dug underground again.

Su frowned, then knelt.

"Earth Pulse — Seeking Root."

The vines followed underground vibrations. Monts later — snap! — roots burst up, dragging the beast halfway above ground.

"Verdant Stranglehold."

Dozens of vine-whips wrapped it tightly, thorns blooming. It screeched and struggled — but the earth itself responded to her.

The beasts slumped, lifeless, their bodies twitching one final ti before stilling for good.

From each corpse, a radiant yellow spirit ring slowly rose — glowing with condensed energy and years of primal instinct. The rings shimred, flickering through the air like halos before drifting toward their chosen absorbers.

The five youths — Lian, Ren, i, Jin, and Su — each sat cross-legged in a circle, positioning themselves in the stance of absorption. Their martial spirits flared to life behind them: lynx, emberheart, lotus, serpent, and verdant root entwined with their bodies like living extensions of their soul.

They breathed deeply.

As the spirit rings sank into their forms, the strain began imdiately. Their bodies shook. Veins bulged. Muscles tensed. For those with no prior experience, the pain was intense — akin to being torn apart and reforged simultaneously.

Above, on the balcony, Michael stood, arms folded as he watched in silence.

One minute passed.

Two.

Then ten.

He raised an eyebrow, his gaze scanning across them. "Hm. All of them are absorbing without backlash… and their spirit power's circulation is smooth. No rejection or ntal collapse. That's… impressive."

He tapped his fingers behind his back, eyes settling on one of them in particular.

i.

The girl was calm, her breathing steady even as frost crusted over her shoulders and lotus petals of pale light danced behind her. The Glacial Vein Lotus glowed with subtle elegance — not just ice-type, but dual-attribute: ice and plant. Support and control. Rarity and utility. She hadn't scread or flinched once.

Michael's eyes narrowed slightly.

"She's both auxiliary and battlefield control. That spirit could grow into sothing truly terrifying…"

He'd already chosen, but now he was sure.

Among the five, i was the one with the most potential.

Not raw power like Ren, or speed like Jin, or adaptability like Lian, or battlefield sense like Su — but balance, composure, and future synergy.

As the yellow rings fully rged into each of them, one by one, their auras surged upward.

Flashes of light burst around them — symbols of spirit skills forming for the first ti.

Their first real step into the world of Spirit Masters was complete.

As the golden glow of spirit energy faded, each of the five slowly opened their eyes.

Their breathing steadied. Their bodies glistened with sweat. But around each one of them… a subtle shift had taken place. Their soul power had risen tangibly — and more importantly, a faint ripple of intent pulsed around them.

The mark of their first spirit skill awakening.

-Lian — Twin-Tailed Moonshadow Lynx

Lian's mismatched eyes glead faintly — one silver, one athyst — as her silhouette blurred for a mont.

The lynx behind her gave a low snarl, twin tails whipping in sync.

Suddenly, she vanished — not teleportation, but extre speed, shadow-fused movent.

First Spirit Skill — Moonstep Veil

Montarily cloaks the user in a veil of lunar and shadow energy, allowing a burst of speed and partial invisibility. Effective for dodging, repositioning, or silent approach.

She reappeared behind her original spot, breathing hard, hands trembling — but a giddy light in her eyes.

"I—I didn't even feel myself move…"

Michael nodded in approval. "A fine stealth ability. With refinent, she could blink through battlefields unnoticed."

-Ren — Infernal Emberheart

Flas crackled faintly along Ren's forearms. He was kneeling, teeth gritted — his shirt half-burnt from the heat rolling off him.

Then he raised a fist, and the fire coalesced into a glowing sphere.

First Spirit Skill — Ember Core Burst

Stores volatile fire energy in a core for up to 10 seconds before releasing it in an explosive radius around the user. Higher damage the longer it's charged, but at increased strain.

Ren exhaled sharply as the flas vanished.

"Can't hold it too long… but it hurts good."

Michael arched an eyebrow. "He's already getting a feel for fire tension. His pain threshold is unusually high."

-i — Glacial Vein Lotus

i was seated calmly, lotus petals of frost floating gently behind her. As the spirit ring finished rging, her hands began to glow with icy blue veins.

She pressed one palm to the ground. A shimr spread out like ripples in snow.

First Spirit Skill — Snowveil Bloom

Emits a field of cold mist that slows movent and reaction speed of enemies within a 10-ter radius. Also slightly regenerates stamina and calms allies' spirit fluctuations.

A support/control skill — and a potent one at that.

Michael's eyes glinted.

"Excellent. Area suppression and healing. If she survives her second ring, she'll be a cornerstone of any squad."

"its good, she is now definitely going to join our team" Michael nodded as he looked at other two.
