The man’s gaze skimd over Su Pan’er, his expression remaining completely undisturbed.
He casually handed over the rest of the skewers in his hand to Fei’er, glanced at the dark cave entrance, and threw a silver bar in front of Su Pan’er.
His gaze, cold as ice, slid over her: "This is a silver bar, hurry up and roast another rabbit. No tricks!"
His icy and eerie eyes felt like a sharp blade sliding over Su Pan’er’s neck, before swiftly moving back to Fei’er, his facial expression instantly turning much soft.
Su Pan’er frowned, her face turning cold!
Does this man not understand human speech or what?
Just as she was about to speak up, the corner of her clothes was suddenly tugged. Fei’er, with trust filling his big eyes like dark grapes, looked up at her, "Sister, don’t be angry. Fifth Uncle was just worried about Fei’er, that’s why he acted like that. He’s had a tough ti fleeing with Fei’er all this way..."
"Fei’er!"
Before Fei’er could finish speaking, the man sternly rebuked him and gave Su Pan’er a fierce glare.
Fei’er’s eyes turned red in an instant, looking alard!
He hurriedly tugged gently at Su Pan’er’s sleeve again, "Sister, don’t listen to my Fifth Uncle. He’s just concerned about my safety, not trying to be offensive towards you. Please take your ti."
This thoughtful little fellow reminded her a lot of her brother, Su Ke!
Just as the anger that surged inside Su Pan’er disappeared into thin air.
"Good boy! Sister also has a younger brother who is about your age. If there’s a chance in the future, I will definitely introduce you two. Here! You take the skewer and eat it while I roast so more rabbit at."
"Thank you, Sister!"
Fei’er’s crisp words of gratitude and the broad smile on his face as he accepted the skewer and took a bite, couldn’t be more content.
It made the man on the side change his face, his body exuding a cold aura! He tried to step forward to stop him, but when he saw Fei’er’s smiling face, he couldn’t help but halt his steps.
How long has it been since he had seen Fei’er smiling so heartily?
"Since you call sister, I have to live up to that title, don’t I? My na is Su Pan’er! Just call Sister Pan’er. Eat without worry, this rabbit at is not poisonous!"
Su Pan’er’s humorous eyes slid over the man: "Although I’m only a herbalist, I understand so dical theories. If I really wanted to poison you guys, I fear you wouldn’t be able to defend against it, right?"
If she had really wanted to poison them, they would have collapsed long ago. Of course, this is just a hypothetical. Even though she had just gathered dicinal herbs, many were not even sorted yet.
A clever woman can’t cook without rice!
The man’s face stiffened!
Killing intent was revealed in an instant!
It quickly faded, he looked deeply into Su Pan’er’s eyes, and his original wariness seed to have lightened a little.
"Actually, Fei’er knows that Sister would not hurt Fei’er. Because, Sister’s gaze is so warm, just like hers..."
Fei’er’s voice gradually faded, and a deep sadness cloaked his face.
Even the man was looking carefully at Su Pan’er for a few monts, an undeniable surprise carved on his face!
Was he rembering his loved ones?
Just when Su Pan’er was about to open her mouth to comfort him, a strange noise ca from outside the cave!
She was instantly shocked!
The man’s face changed instantly!
He looked back at Fei’er, his gaze complicated: "Protect Fei’er for ." Before his words even fell, he rushed out of the cave.
He didn’t trust this plump woman, but he trusted Fei’er’s judgent.
"Hey——"
Su Pan’er called out instinctively.
However, the man’s figure had already vanished outside the cave entrance.
He was overly cautious just a mont ago, but he turned around and left this child in her care. Isn’t his personality changing a little too fast?
Within a few monts, a sudden tumult of fighting and grueso screaming erupted from outside!
Fei’er seed unfazed, continuing to enjoy her at skewers.
On the other hand, the little Bama pig was terrified. It leaped straight into Su Pan’er’s arms, wailing out, "Big woman, lots of people are outside attacking the man from earlier! He’s killing people! He’s killed so many... so many people!"
"Shut up! Annoying creature!"
Su Pan’er grabbed the pig and tossed it to Fei’er’s side, "Watch it carefully for . If anything happens to it, I’ll skin you alive!"
Without looking back, she crawled out of the cave.
The abandoned little pig squealed, "You heartless woman, how can you abandon your grandfather pig?"
Fei’er, on the other hand, was so startled by the pig’s ear-piercing screams that she didn’t even notice when she dropped her skewer.
Her sister asked her to look after the pig?
But... how?
Just as Su Pan’er crawled out of the cave, she imdiately noticed scores of people surrounding the area, creating a sea of black.
The shine of the swords in their hands was enough to leave her breathless. They had the man from before entirely surrounded, and the sounds of battle were unceasing.
The man was fighting with two narrow swords, slaughtering his way through the crowds of people, harvesting lives like hay in a field.
The screams of the dying were continuous!
A pungent sll of blood rose in the air.
Su Pan’er silently retreated a couple of steps back into the cave. She glanced at Fei’er, only to find her and the pig fighting over a at skewer.
Without hesitation, she briskly stepped in, grabbing the pig and asking, "Didn’t you say before that you can trigger the heart demon in people?"
The pig was previously enjoying his fight with Fei’er over the grilled at when Su Pan’er abruptly grabbed him by the tail. He was quite displeased.
"Not trigger a heart demon! It’s about awakening your deepest desires. Most of the ti you humans don’t even realise what you truly want, but the desire is always there! Let go, let go of your grandpa pig’s tail! Let go..."
The pig kicked his little legs trying to squirm away from Su Pan’er.
"Shut up!"
Su Pan’er strode to the cave entrance, pointing at the sudden horde outside, "See them? Apart from the man from earlier, can you handle the rest?"
"All of them?"
The pig struggled in her grip, "Stop kidding ! There must be at least two hundred people! If it was only two, your grandpa pig could handle it. But this many? They might turn your grandpa pig into bite-sized snack! Can’t do it, can’t!"
Su Pan’er grabbed the pig’s fan-shaped ears and brought it close to her face, "Really can’t give it a go? Hmmm——?"
"Really can’t, really! More real than pearls!"
The pig struggled but finally surrendered to Su Pan’er’s intimidations, "I simply don’t have enough strength right now. However... Hehehe..."
The pig looked at Su Pan’er, greed visible in his eyes.
"What ’but’? Spit it out! Stop beating around the bush!"
Su Pan’er sneered, "If you don’t co up with a plan, I will roast you!"
"There is a way, there is a way! Hehehe..."
The pig desperately waved his short legs, trying to appear serious and cute at the sa ti, "There definitely is a way, as long as you’re willing to shed so blood!"
"My blood?"
Su Pan’er wore a wary look on her face, "What are you intending?"
"The more of your blood I drink, the more my abilities will grow, defeating these hairy thieves will be a walk in the park!"
The pig wore a smug smile, "It’s up to you now. Are you willing to pay the price?"
